The fact of the matter is that games designed for Playstation 5 can potentially do way more than games designed for Playstation 4. If that weren't the case, we wouldn't need new consoles.
It's really that simple.

Far Cry 2 utilizing the console's power more than Far Cry 5 doesn't prove anything. Variables include: the developers, time allotted to the development of the game, vision for the game, etc.
I could just as easily show you God of War 2 vs God of War 3 to prove that there are plenty of things you can do on PS3 that you can't do on PS2. Super Mario to Mario 64. Metal Gear Solid to Metal Gear Solid 2.

By your logic, we may as well still be playing on the original Nintendo.

History tells us when we get to everything being PS5 and Series X only, you'll see games pushed to where they can no longer do 60 FPS. And, thanks to diminishing returns, they won't even look THAT much better.

If that's the case, keep giving me cross-gen games where I can have games that look great AND run great.

Sony Santa Monica just really released a crossgen title that basically performs amazingly well in all platforms even before the first few patches released on day one.

Seems like all modes are working great, and if that wasn't enough, the game just seems to be the best Playstation game released in a while.

I consider day one patch the one that’s out there when the game releases. I had no idea there was already 3 patches so thank you. That said, the game isn’t out yet so everyone is playing it from day one will do so without any major issues reported so far

They did something incredible with this franchise in terms of going from old God of war to god of war 2018. Tons of praise and awards. Why on earth would they change anything drastically for a direct sequel.
