Waiting for the “Kratos isn’t gay it’s time we have a talk about that lack of representation 7/10”
C'mon thought Kratos and Thor, but who would be the bottom?

It's more realistic that they'll cry about misogyny or some nonsense in this one.

All games that reach this level of hype get questionable reviews. Everything from Sony to Nintendo to From Software. Critics are bound to hype the games just as much as the players.

Almost every reviewer of Elden Ring glossed over how easy it is to get stuck, not knowing how to progress, or how the 2018 version of God of War has a lot of mobs that just aren't that fun to fight and lead to button-mashing.

These sorts of things take months before people admit to them.

I didn't experience this, but then again, I took the time to learn and got pretty good at combos/mechanics, and I moved a lot to change where attacked from - I also never found a reason to use quick turn (I played on the 2nd highest difficulty).

These two paragraphs in the Gamespot review are giving me HFW vibes. Aggressive enemies? stunlocking? New mechanics impacting the flow of the combat?

TBH, this is exactly what I was worried about. When games feel the need to add stuff just for the sake of adding stuff, they end up breaking the balance they had spent so hard crafting in the original. Ascension had a similar issue, and more recently HFW.

The review does state that its not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, so hopefully its not as bad as HFW.
IGN also mentions "cooldown juggling" which is kind of like the shit that happened in Doom Eternal.

They mention it in the video but didn't bother to print it, funny that.

Only you to write a post like this after a 94 game on metacritic that's being called "one of the best Playstation games ever" lmao.

I think some of you don't even like videogames...you just like to complain.

care to shed a light on it then? Because i played and thought it was boring as fuck and not really that great.

my 2 GOTY so far : Horizon Forbidden West and A Plague Tale : Requiem
We couldn’t be further from each other on game tastes. I wouldn’t touch those two games with a stick.

I was referring to the fact that the sense of discovery and being lost is critical to Elden Ring.

Yeah that's you guys whenever someone doesn't like the same games you do.

Y'all are so overly defensive of these games, I just think they're meh really.
They're not bad but I don't think they're the second coming of Christ or that they do anything new really.
The reboot was like every AAA trope ever in one package, it's not surprising to me that big gaming outlets eat it up that's the point really.

The same goes with other industries too, this is how it works in movies too.
A movie doesn't have to have unique and fresh ideas or do anything particularly incredibly well to get a super high rating.

Haha, Nah. I will play and enjoy them both thanks.

...Elden ring is a genuine game of the generation IMO...hundreds and hundreds of hours without even noticing...pure wonder. the DLC will be incredible.

God Of War Ragnarok will also hopefully be very, very good. But after platinuming the first...I wouldn't play it again....They are one and done games for me. Doesn't mean it wasn't amazing. It's just not the same kind of thing for me.

Is the challenge like the first game when campaign is pretty easy and they saved the hard stuff for sidecontents like valkirye, fog labytint and the trials in the lava zone?

Or i can expect some challenge in the main campaign aswell?!
Main story bosses are more difficult and challenging this time around. Haven't tried crucible yet, but did try the new versions of "valykires" and some of them are very difficult. One of the fights right now that I an trying to perfect and not get hit on Give Me God of War is more challenging than one of the Valkyries from God of War 2018.

The formula and flow is similar, lots to do at the end after main story quest.

Yeah, how dare I discuss a review of a gameplay portion of game in a review thread. Please get a grip. You want a hype thread go create one. Let the adults discuss text and words without getting triggered by them.

Is main story 17 hours? I love a good game, but I also like to see the end before I start to get bored.

I’ve already preloaded, so I’m ready.
