Man I'm so disappointed in the roster. The most boring milquetoast characters they could pick in a game universe that has so many unique and interesting characters.

As someone that played the browser game for years, both this and GBVS let me down hard as far as the roster selections go.

Yes, the roster is underwhelming. But it's understandable, the chose the most popular lol

Is the battle theme composed by Uematsu sama?

Yes.
He made some songs for GBF, but AFAIK he only made songs at the beginning of the game. Most of the songs currently are composed by Tsutomu Narita

True, but how much of that is self-feeding? They only ever put a handful of characters in all of the big promotional stuff, they keep having recurring events with the fucking angels/society/the knights every year, very predictably.

If Lamretta had 3-5 events featuring her per year, I'm sure she'd be popular too.

Yeah when I looked at the character list I was like

No Lowain? They turned some common rarity joke character from a gatcha into a fanfavorite and they didn't bother to include him and his two bros in the RPG? Think of the meme potential lost here.

It's whats considered "classic" characters roster from way back to 2015. At least Narmaya-oneesan and mama Song gets in.
Charlotta, Ghandagoza, Vaseraga never was really high on popularity list. And no modern characters are present (Sandalphon, Nier, Silva, Korwa and Zooey etc). Interesting is that Vira is missing as she is one of the most popular and part of core team.

Game wants to be a entry point for new players/audience that didn't play the mobile game. Maybe if successful we will see these later characters down the road if Granblue gains a foothold and grows as a franchise.

Some further clarification around the length of the game via How Long to Beat:

How Long to Beat Granblue Fantasy: Relink

It will take players 20 hours to beat Granblue Fantasy: Relink’s main story and see the credits roll. To beat the main story and side quests, players should expect a runtime of 40 hours. However, it will take completionists 80 to 100 hours to beat absolutely everything the game has to offer. This is because, upon beating the main story, players will unlock even more quests, which will add an additional 40 hours to the runtime.
There are also endgame activities, such as fighting huge bosses, for players to look forward to once they’ve reached the level cap of 100. Additionally, players can experience all of the multiplayer missions with up to 3 friends online, adding even more replayability. With several playable characters to control, there is plenty of content for players to get through. Comparatively, Granblue Fantasy: Versus takes 6 hours to beat, and Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising takes 12. This makes Granblue Fantasy: Relink the longest game in the franchise outside of the mobile game.
Furthermore, there are two different Assist modes to help those struggling with the combat get through the story with ease. There’s Full Assist mode, which automates absolutely every action in combat outside of movement. Then there’s the regular Assist mode, which sees combos done with a single button press, auto-heal, auto-guard, and auto-dash enabled by default, and other actions, such as Link Attacks, are done automatically.
