speaking of beverley. was i the only one that followed him around town for a good while before realizing that i was suppose to
kill him?

No. I did the same. I guess I thought Franklin is more forgiving than the other two to let it slide. It was definitely odd to see the gold requirement for it.

As soon as he blew me off and didnt pay me, I chucked a sticky bomb at his crew fan.

Needless to say no one made it and I got myself a couple grand for the trouble.

I'm planning to get GTA V this thursday, but I have a couple of tech questions first I was hoping somebody could help me with:

- I have an old 20GB Xbox 360 from 2008, with a 32GB USB flash drive (speed class 10) hooked up to it. My 360 red ringed around 2010 and got repaired by Microsoft. Will I run into significant performance issues playing this game? I'm mostly talking about the game crashing or locking up, etc.; I don't mind a bad framerate all that much (I played Far Cry 3 on my 360 and thought it was totally fine).

- Should I do the mandatory install on the hard drive or the USB drive?

- Is there a significant update I would need to download? I'm currently moving and switching ISPs/modems, and getting my 360 online would be a bit of a hassle.

Thanks in advance!

Music Sounds Better With You is a throwback to my senior year of HS; such a cool song. Also, Lady(Hear Me Tonight) is a damn good song that I somehow missed out on.

I've always hated both of those songs, they ruin my vibe when I'm popping it up in my ill-gained SUV :p

Can't wait to find out exactly what we can do in GTA:O

ATV races to the top of Chiliad will be brilliant, espcially if you can make boundaries to keep the racers grouped up

I wish GTA Online freemode acted like a (forget the correct term) staggered MMO.

Meaning everyone is one one/multiple servers, but you'll only have a certain number of people loaded into your world. Would make it feel much more alive than 16 people in that bigass area.

god damnit franklin.

Franklin is my guy that I help people out with, if they're getting robbed, franklin is returning the cash (trevor returns it, then shoots the lady in the back and kicks her corpse a few times)

but his do-gooder ways gets him killed a couple times. I was busting down a punk and then a dude on a motor bike drove up behind me and put a bullet straight in my head instakill. wtf franklin nnooooo. it's happened 2 times now where the people you mess with turn out to be hard core.

Really sucks when you fail one of those, because you can't go back and redo. the stink of failure is all over franklin :(

Has anyone checked the tunnels out near the Casino? There's a bunch of people bathing near the water and there's a few bikes. Pick one up and go right and the whole city is linked up through service tunnels (not train tunnels).

It's amazing, there are people down there welding and buttressing and it seems as if that's all they ever do.

Great to hide from the law too . . .

Oh man, I had an itch during the last leg of the event. I could have, and should have paused it, but I didn't. I went for the itch and ended up finishing in 3rd.

I havent even tried the triathalons yet. Those Exercising Demons missions with that crazy blonde woman were enough for me.

I have an old 360 too and it managed the game just fine without a hitch except maybe two glitch hiccups which is to say a LOT better than I've thought. Usually with rockstar games you see a lot of silliness, I barely saw any of that in my game. :)

And the game comes with two discs, Play and Install. You install the Install disc mandatory and then play off of the Play disc. Rockstar made a fuss earlier about people who've installed the "Play" disc. So don't install that "Play" disc otherwise you'll run into problems. I was afraid that my 360 would run really loud for my husband to concentrate elsewhere while I'm playing (I'm deaf so sound doesn't bother me). But it was fine and it wasn't that disturbingly loud like he'd thought it would considering its an old 360.

So I would safely assume you'll be more than fine. :3 Also I've played this game nearly everyday since Wednesday. :)

From what I remember it acts sort of like Test Drive Unlimited doesn't it? You will be connected to 16 people in the same area as you and that will dynamically swap people in and out as you traverse the map.

I could be wrong though.

fuck i got like $500.

wish there were more missions. I found beverley's to be some of the most fun side ones.

Photography in games is always fun.

The best gta missions are the ones where you don't have to run away from the cops imo.

Indeed. I really enjoyed helping the elderly British couple steal all the celebrity items with Trevor too. Some really great scenes there.

I agree although getting away from cops is a mission in itself at times as there are a ton of ways to do it.

Some of my best time spent with the game, so far. Brilliant missions, those. I finished the whole line all in a fairly short span, as they were so entertaining.

That's good to hear, thanks!

Also, my second question was a bit vague, but what I was trying to ask is 'should I do the mandatory install on the hard drive or USB drive?'

Exact same thing happened to me actually. I was trying to cut off a few seconds on a turn on the cycling portion and fell off. By the time I got back on the bike, I was in last place. I pushed through though and still came in first. Dat rubber band.

Do you know what happens if you let Al di Napoli out of the car? Do you get the $10k he talks about?

Dude. I was just about where I needed to be after driving this specific boat half way around the entire island and then I accidentally ground it. FFFFFFFFFFFF.

Where do I find a helicopter for lifting this thing next time?

She cracked me up when I raced her. When you win go to her Lifeinvader profile and you'll see that she says how embarrassed she was by being beaten my some old fat guy LOL.

Yup, and if you're quick and slick about it most of the items you can grab without there being much cop involvement or violence.

Not at the country club however. Nope. Those guys had to go via grenade launcher.

I reaaaaally enjoyed the old people as well! The last mission was pure fun!

hmmm... i usually end up taking a bunch of uturns and sharp turns and what not and eventually lose their trail. Is there another way?

I feel like missions need more if any rewards.

Give me a new hat or something. Most don't even give you cash.

I just want to be able to walk down the street without someone cappin my ass.

Yeah, made RDR a pain in the arse having to avoid everyone on th map

It'd be pretty cool if it pulled you and your crew into the SP so you could see them just walking around sometimes

How much can you mod the Mini? I wanna wear a tuxedo and a hockey mask, and drive around in a fully modified Mini

Is it possible to win the big triathlon without 100 Stamina?

There should be a stat you can upgrade to increase the amount of health that regenerates

You shouldn't have any issues. I have a 2008-ish elite model and no problems. Framerate is surprisingly good for the vast majority of the game.

Installing the install disc to a USB and the game disc to the hard drive gave me a slight increase in performance over installing the install disc to the hard drive and the game disc to the hard drive. Either way, both are a decent improvement over installing the install disc some where and playing the game off the disc.

There is no update yet. Probably nothing until next Tuesday. There is a feature in the game that I think requires a connection, but it's nothing completely necessary.

Speaking of the British couple missions. (side mission spoilers for Trevor)
Is there any way to do the golf course one without killing them? I tried sneaking up on them and got shot at, I tried going golfing on the course and got shot at, tried hiding in the bushes and seeing if they'd move along and they didn't. So I guessed I was just supposed to kill them.

Does anyone know if you can latch on those metal A-frame trailer things that are in some driveways? I spotted one with a jet ski on, reversed into it, nothing happened. Saw one driving down the highway with it connected to a car though so IDK.

It would have been cool to latch it up, drive to the beach and go for a ride :(

Yup. And he keeps to his word and doesn't rat you out, either.

Damn!
I chose to put him on the train tracks.
Thanks though. I wonder if there were any shares I should've looked at investing after that?

No, of course I don't know what happens if you do that. :p

I'm not that nice.

I just didn't believe his words, haha

Glad to hear I'm not alone in having ISSUES WITH THAT mission. That was a PITA. My successful go was with a sniper rifle, I find that I managed to walk up to the tree undetected and armed (when you start over after getting wasted, there's a couple of bushes and a large tree to your upper left) I'd walk up to it, lean and snipe at the golfer and then go kamikaze on the guards. I'd then hide from the cops just by running to the entrance of the club. Cops just swarmed to the area and I guess I got lucky with no cops in my direction.

Oh well, it was fun trying. I also tried to get away from the cops in the golf cart. It was pretty hilarious going so slow and running from the cops. Finally I got in a wreck and realized all I had to do was take the clubs. :lol

my suggestion is if you can spare 8gb on the internal 20gb hard drive, install the 'install' disc there, then install the 'play' disc to the 32gb usb drive. you won't see the streaming issues people mentioned about installing both to the same drive and it'll be less noisy due to not using the optical drive as much. i also have an original xbox that has been refurbished (have the 250gb microsoft drive on it though) and it's been running great with this setup for me.

Was saving a girl yesterday as Franklin that was hiding behind a truck (another random event) she was trying to get me to give her a ride away from a bunch of guys chasing her. Well one darted right in front of the car. She freaks out and screams at me, I get 3 stars. I pull over, wait for her to get out of the car and I shoot her.

Ain't nobody got time for that. Did suck that it failed but hey, she shoulda have been clearer on the fact that she didn't want me to murder everyone involved.

Sounds like you were going at it the exact same way I was doing it. The guys playing would constantly be alerted whenever I aimed though. I think they wanted you to cause some carnage in that particular scene. I was always getting wasted when I was trying to go about it professionally. Decided to go in sloppy with the launcher and it was an immediate success. Only received a one star wanted level too.

It's really creepy. If you drive around Blaine County with the radio off you can catch other random radio chatter cutting in, I can't tell if it is farm workers or truck drivers. I wondered if any of it led anywhere, but they were talking about free basing and heifers escaping. Anyone else noticed this? I was playing as Trevor.

does the online dating thing actually work? Never ever get a phone call....

And I didn't realize there were actual prostitutes in this. all the women on the street already are dressed like whores so its hard to differentiate :p

Cool, looks like I'll be ok then. I don't know if I'll install the play disc though, I'll have to look into what Rockstar said first.

I don't really mind a noisy Xbox since I tune it out almost instantly, so I'm mostly looking for the install setup that gives the best performance.

Yeah, I had that happen while I was climbing Mt. Chiliad in a truck last night. Thought maybe I was about to stumble onto a blue dot or something, but nothing showed up. Just a nice little detail, I guess.

this kind of shit should be rewards for doing the stunt jumps, letter scraps, etc. there seem to be few rewards for doing the sides hit besides winning a higher imaginary game score (see what you did achievements?? you're ruining in game rewards). i used to love getting more armor from vigilnate missions, keeping my weapons by dating a certain girl etc etc. 'legal cheats' >>> achievements but i guess all people are vocal about is the trophy lists not goals like that anymore so it's a thing of the past.
