Semi-random and not online related but I replayed a mission once and Michael was wearing a suit with a tie that was loosened and some black gloves. I don't see any of that for sale anywhere and it's not at my house.

Help?

Also finished the main story and the majority of the side missions last night.

I have mixed feelings about it, the open world stuff is amazing, so much fun just messing around in the giant sandbox.

The story elements and missions themselves were quite a let down however, so many missed opportunities eg.
I was fully expecting some Stuntman style movie antics/mechanics during the Solomon Richards series of missions, but all we got were some uninteresting chase down the goons type stuff
. Also there are tons and tons of areas on the map that the story never takes you to that would seemingly be golden opportunities for interesting missions eg.
the casino, the race course, the power plant, the wind farm etc
.

Also, after all the hype about
underwater exploration, it was barely used... and there doesn't really appear to be anything interesting down there anyway
!

The experience was also slightly spoiled by the car/garage bugs as well, I feel like I missed out on owning cool cars and modding them etc, as I knew that there was a good chance they would vanish into thin air, I never bothered with this aspect.

I guess there is a chance that DLC will cover some of this in future.

For now, I will see what GTAO brings to the table, speaking of which... is it live yet?

Just going live now apparently.

As for your point about cars - I just want to say this again - your houses might delete cars. BUT, your character garages (the colour coded ones) save cars correctly. Use these and you're OK.

Also, I'm fair sure I did a heli chase over the wind farm, that was using it pretty well.

The prison is the biggest let down for me, you never go near it. I wonder how explorable it is.
<-- is this a spoiler? Can we unspoiler places now? It feels dumb trying to keep them secret.

Uh, so this Epsilon robe thing. It says I have to wear them for 10 cumulative days. But it seems like my count's been reset because I had multiple days and now its telling me I've only got 1 day. How does this work exactly?

Also, I can't switch character (post game). Is this weirdness to do with the servers being fucked right now?

The bug that made progress in the Epsilon missions impossible to continue if you loaded a save following vehicle turn in has been fixed with GTA Online patch.

Weird, after the patch on ps3, I'm unable to switch between characters in SP, the dial doesn't appear when holding the down-arrow down.

got to heli-pad near the beach in the south-west should be marked on the map, usually don't even get any stars for stealing it.

There's one (two actually) on the medical centre in Davis, right in Franklin's neighbourhood! Go up the ladder/stairs and they're there.

No stars as no-one can see you. They don't always spawn though, so you might need to go back a coupla times.

Do you think this fix reset the count for everyone? Annoying if so.

This is what just happened to me. It works after I loaded a save.

Mission order broke majorly on me this morning. Late game spoilers.

Got a phone call after trying and failing to get Online saying I need to get a Tuxedo for the premiere. Was already pretty confused, but I went ahead and did it without doing the Solomon mission that was available. So then Devin calls me talking about Molly dying. Very confused now. Did the mission then did the Solomon one, wherein Devin and Molly are both there.

The game basically let me do the Michael mission before I'd unlocked it, meaning it made no sense and essentially spoiled the previous mission for me that I then had to do. Also: Bonus. I died when doing the Solomon mission at the very end, but I heard the mission complete sound on a black screen. Pressed X and it cut to Michael coming out of the hospital and then using the phone to tell Solomon about getting the film reel.

I had another bit of oddity last night in a Freaks and Strangers mission

Was playing as Trevor and it was the mission with the fitness freak on her bike. I won the race and nothing happened. No cutscene, no one saying anything, no nothing. All I could do was get off the bike and fail the mission by shooting a gun near her. Tried it again, same outcome. Annoying as.

That's a shame. I 100%'d and am still doing the non-required stuff and didn't encounter a single issue.

I remember with GTA3 there is a mission where you kill the Yakuza leader, and you can do it before you actually complete the Yakuza leader's missions. After he was dead you would lose the uncompleted missions. They were required for 100%.

Getting close to the end, some thoughts:

- Trevor becomes uncomfortable and I wish I could kill him. It would make sense for Michael to do it

- The "family reuniting" seems to have been written by the 13 year old rockstar writer.
There is always some mission that is well done/written and fun and then some where they just curse and talk in a way that would never lead to anything. And characters say "whatever", "well fuck you" a lot to end sentences that could have used reasoning.

- FIB stuff also does not make sense, as does Franklins reaction to basically getting ripped off. Why did he let those cars just get taken away? Why not insinst in a half pay thing? "I'm not going to pay you!" "OK!"

Trevor got an email saying the airstrip made money (12g.) but my bank account is the same. Do I have to pick up the money or will it eventually hit my account.

Also someone said above that the garages the characters buy are safe to store cars in but your house garage isn't. Is that true?

I stole a jet and parked it in Trevor's hangar. However it doesn't show up in the list of aircraft I can choose. Is there anyway to keep it permanently?

For a game where you kill thousands of people, it always takes a leap of imagination to figure out why GTA protags don't just put a bullet in the people in their way. "Pay me" "no" BLAM

really need to get this game.

To 100% the game is it just missions or do I need to drive about looking for collectables? that crap gets real boring for me!

Lol. I kept following Franklin after declining to hang out with him and he punched me and killed me.

lol

Down the incline directly below Whisky a Go Go, cars tend to go crazy and smash into each other. I had a huge pileup which i proceeded to explode.

Nice. Haven't done a nice pileup explosion since the last GTA. It's time to use the good' ol sticky bombs again!

Was it his orange hangar, or the white hangar in sandy shores? You should be able to keep it. The Hangar and the Helipad have different spawn lists. What kinda jet?

100% includes about 160 collectables, same as other GTAs. Plus loads of other stuff.

lol

I spawned into a traffic jam as Franklin yesterday. Got out my car, unholstered the grenade launcher and went nuts. Police chase a go go!

This is becoming a fatal flaw in GTA for me. You are always someone's bitch. I want to be a crime lord and control the entire city.

Story missions took me 26 hours.

100% 60 hours.

And there is still stuff to do beyond 100% that probably will add another 10-20 hours.

Then there is the whole going for gold in all missions which will take the total gameplay time to 100+ hours.

And then there's online...

You do get the choice to do it to one of the Strangers and Freaks after completing their missions.

I loved RDR but Marston was the king of issuing idle threats to all the people he was working with who kept stringing him along. Not sure that was any better.

The story missions continue to exceed my expectations....

can't agree more
especially those trevor's missions in the county... hot damn

btw I suddenly remember this 'combat jog' those previews always mentioned... now that I am playing I don't think I have seen the character performing, what exacting is that and how do I do it?

Last night, playing with Trevor, I was touring around the desert, came across a random event, chased The Lost Down, shot them with my AK, gave the cash back to the guy, robbed a store, ran from the cops, found a plane near some greenhouses, flew it into a bridge, picked up a Mexican crook who died in the car before I could get her home and then dumped her in the wash near the triathalon.

All within five minutes! People talk about this kind of thing in reviews, but it only happens in that very rarest of open world games - the ones R* create.

Also, I'm psychopathic when playing with Trevor, but find myself being more careful with Michael. Think this is a brilliant dynamic that really influences the way the player interacts with the world.

This game.

The FIB stuff makes sense. They can ruin Michael's life at any time since he's supposed to be dead. He's not in official witness protection, he made a deal with an agent who he continues to bribe. It's not just hiding from Trevor, he's a wanted felon, so he goes along with the FIB to keep his life intact. Trevor hangs around because he's trying to figure out what Michael's relationship to the FIB is exactly and get answers to what happened ten years ago. Franklin is helping his mentor and the guy who helped him move out of the hood.

Devin tells Franklin he'll be paid, just not right then and it will be in bonds when the coast is clear. Franklin's pissed because he's used to getting paid right away for a job, but Michael tries to even say that being paid in the manner the guy is saying makes sense (harder to track, etc). I accounted it more to his inexperience with performing jobs with billionaires along with not being willing to take on someone who owns a chunk of a large private military for low stakes.

Every other GTA game the characters are bitches for no reason. In V it's always related to either past circumstances caused by the character or related in some way to the development of the characters.

Because you said count so it was pretty vague and not mission specific.

No. That was after he responded to me talking about the cars for some reason. This is my original post and I think I made clear enough which mission I was stuck on.

Does no one read on this forum? lol, whatever. Thanks for trying to help anyway, ricochet. Just a misunderstanding.

So after beating this the other day I have been thinking about a discussion we were having about Sleeping Dogs a couple of weeks ago. I personally was debating how it does not touch GTA V in terms of the world, variety and overall production value and I absolutely still stand by that. GTA V is on another level in those areas.

But now that I have beat it, I have to say that I still prefer the gameplay, soundtrack and story in Sleeping Dogs. Not trying to start shit, I'm just saying that I think Sleeping Dogs is better in those areas and deserves more credit. As great as GTA V is, it's not perfect.

man, this game kinda sucks when you just want to have fun and kill people.

punch a guy or two, woot! +1 star.

isn't there a cheat to disable the police? you should try that.

edit: just a cheat to lower the wanted stars but I guess that should to the trick.

Sleeping Dogs was created as a linear cinematic game and had an open world tacked on after 2-3 reboots during development so that's probably why it has a more interesting story and such a shitty, worthless open world.

I agree. Like I said, it does not touch GTA V in terms of the world, variety and overall production value. Not even close. I just think the gameplay, story and soundtrack are better.

It still has a better open world than GTAIV did in SP.
