Also finished the main story and the majority of the side missions last night.
I have mixed feelings about it, the open world stuff is amazing, so much fun just messing around in the giant sandbox.
The story elements and missions themselves were quite a let down however, so many missed opportunities eg.. Also there are tons and tons of areas on the map that the story never takes you to that would seemingly be golden opportunities for interesting missions eg.I was fully expecting some Stuntman style movie antics/mechanics during the Solomon Richards series of missions, but all we got were some uninteresting chase down the goons type stuff.the casino, the race course, the power plant, the wind farm etc
Also, after all the hype about!underwater exploration, it was barely used... and there doesn't really appear to be anything interesting down there anyway
The experience was also slightly spoiled by the car/garage bugs as well, I feel like I missed out on owning cool cars and modding them etc, as I knew that there was a good chance they would vanish into thin air, I never bothered with this aspect.
I guess there is a chance that DLC will cover some of this in future.
For now, I will see what GTAO brings to the table, speaking of which... is it live yet?
Is there an easyway to get a helicopter with Franklin?quick
It works for me. Just restart your game.Weird, after the patch on ps3, I'm unable to switch between characters in SP, the dial doesn't appear when holding the down-arrow down.
got to heli-pad near the beach in the south-west should be marked on the map, usually don't even get any stars for stealing it.

The bug that made progress in the Epsilon missions impossible to continue if you loaded a save following vehicle turn in has been fixed with GTA Online patch.

Do you think this fix reset the count for everyone? Annoying if so.
That's a shame. I 100%'d and am still doing the non-required stuff and didn't encounter a single issue.Mission order broke majorly on me this morning. Late game spoilers.
Got a phone call after trying and failing to get Online saying I need to get a Tuxedo for the premiere. Was already pretty confused, but I went ahead and did it without doing the Solomon mission that was available. So then Devin calls me talking about Molly dying. Very confused now. Did the mission then did the Solomon one, wherein Devin and Molly are both there.
The game basically let me do the Michael mission before I'd unlocked it, meaning it made no sense and essentially spoiled the previous mission for me that I then had to do. Also: Bonus. I died when doing the Solomon mission at the very end, but I heard the mission complete sound on a black screen. Pressed X and it cut to Michael coming out of the hospital and then using the phone to tell Solomon about getting the film reel.
I had another bit of oddity last night in a Freaks and Strangers mission
Was playing as Trevor and it was the mission with the fitness freak on her bike. I won the race and nothing happened. No cutscene, no one saying anything, no nothing. All I could do was get off the bike and fail the mission by shooting a gun near her. Tried it again, same outcome. Annoying as.
Getting close to the end, some thoughts:
- Trevor becomes uncomfortable and I wish I could kill him. It would make sense for Michael to do it
- The "family reuniting" seems to have been written by the 13 year old rockstar writer.
There is always some mission that is well done/written and fun and then some where they just curse and talk in a way that would never lead to anything. And characters say "whatever", "well fuck you" a lot to end sentences that could have used reasoning.
- FIB stuff also does not make sense, as does Franklins reaction to basically getting ripped off. Why did he let those cars just get taken away? Why not insinst in a half pay thing? "I'm not going to pay you!" "OK!"
Lol. I kept following Franklin after declining to hang out with him and he punched me and killed me.
Down the incline directly below Whisky a Go Go, cars tend to go crazy and smash into each other. I had a huge pileup which i proceeded to explode.
I stole a jet and parked it in Trevor's hangar. However it doesn't show up in the list of aircraft I can choose. Is there anyway to keep it permanently?
really need to get this game.
To 100% the game is it just missions or do I need to drive about looking for collectables? that crap gets real boring for me!
lol
Nice. Haven't done a nice pileup explosion since the last GTA. It's time to use the good' ol sticky bombs again!
For a game where you kill thousands of people, it always takes a leap of imagination to figure out why GTA protags don't just put a bullet in the people in their way. "Pay me" "no" BLAM
Story missions took me 26 hours.really need to get this game.

You do get the choice to do it to one of the Strangers and Freaks after completing their missions. For a game where you kill thousands of people, it always takes a leap of imagination to figure out why GTA protags don't just put a bullet in the people in their way. "Pay me" "no" BLAM
Not sure what you mean? I turned in all 5 vehicles but could not continue. Now the next mission shows like it's supposed to.
I loved RDR but Marston was the king of issuing idle threats to all the people he was working with who kept stringing him along. Not sure that was any better. This is becoming a fatal flaw in GTA for me. You are always someone's bitch. I want to be a crime lord and control the entire city.
Because you said count so it was pretty vague and not mission specific.I'm talking about the robes you have to wear for 10 days. Not the cars. Why did you respond in the first place if you didn't know that, lol.
The story missions continue to exceed my expectations....

Uh, so this Epsilon robe thing. It says I have to wear them for 10 cumulative days. But it seems like my count's been reset because I had multiple days and now its telling me I've only got 1 day. How does this work exactly?
man, this game kinda sucks when you just want to have fun and kill people.
punch a guy or two, woot! +1 star.
shoot a guy or two, woot! +1 star.
pfft..
Market is always down when I actually need to sell stocks for money.
So after beating this the other day I have been thinking about a discussion we were having about Sleeping Dogs a couple of weeks ago. I personally was debating how it does not touch GTA V in terms of the world, variety and overall production value and I absolutely still stand by that. GTA V is on another level in those areas.
But now that I have beat it, I have to say that I still prefer the gameplay, soundtrack and story in Sleeping Dogs. Not trying to start shit, I'm just saying that I think Sleeping Dogs is better in those areas and deserves more credit. As great as GTA V is, it's not perfect.
I just picked this up via Redbox. How long would it realistically take me to complete the game if I only focus on the main missions?
Sleeping Dogs was created as a linear cinematic game and had an open world tacked on after 2-3 reboots during development so that's probably why it has a more interesting story and such a shitty, worthless open world.

It still has a better open world than GTAIV did in SP.
