Good to have you back nicoga, I don't know if you remember but some of my very first fractals were with you. I played on Seda the ranger if that rings a bell. :D

Getting stuck in orr is pretty funny though.

You had the magical unicorn bow, right? That thing was glorious.

Yeah, I must have logged out in Orr and when the world went to hell, I was stuck there. I didn't realize they did a full reset of everything? Or maybe it's just a weird bug I have right now? Craaaaaazy.

LMAO at least I was remembered.

Yeah that's a super weird bug. At least you can pvp zone to LA but not sure what would have caused that.

Thanks for the info guys. I have a full set of Zerker gear, but I swapped it for something...I can't remember what. I also run GS/Staff, which may or may not be the best option right now? I'll have to tinker with things again. Going to play some over the next few days to get my chops back. Apparently I don't have any of the map open anymore? So I'm hanging out over at Orr and need to work my way back. ?_?

Try going back via the PvP area.

A couple of thoughts on the skill point conversion:

1) At this moment, any skill points you spend to unlock skills or traits are effectively a waste of currency (other than the value of the fun you get from using those skills or traits until the patch is implemented).

2) Those who leveled alts in ways other than map completion will find those alts short of the necessary hero points to unlock all skills and traits. Might be worth it to take those characters on a preemptive skill challenge tour.

This isn't exactly true. You get enough 'hero points' just leveling to 80 to get the majority of the points you need. You only need to get 65-ish map completion hero points to unlock all of the specialization tracks. This is true regardless if you leveled normally or through crafting or whatever.

EDIT:
Sorry I misread what you wrote =)

Honestly, it's easy to figure out how many hero points one should have based on their level and map completion. Any extra you have spent on skills/traits should get added to the reimbursed total, along with the points unspent. Well, I can't guarantee that for traits.

You can't guarantee reimbursement for those spent on skills either. But more specifically, any skill points spent unlocking skills will not be converted into hero points. You'll need to do skill challenges to make up for those.

It's very possible to go through current skills, check their skill costs, and just give back those points. The only thing that are variable are trait unlocks, because those can be unlocked with skill points and without.

But yes, I cannot guarantee that ANet will do anything about already spent points. All they've clarified on are unspent skill points sitting on each of your characters. It's just possible to do and feels likely.

Bug Fixes:
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Weapons Test Engineer to spawn in a location that prevented players from being able to attack him in the Molten Furnace Fractal.
  • Increased the drop rate of the Portal to the Heart of Maguuma item.

woo hoo!

The new Balthazar Greatsword is so simple, I love it:

In an attempt to migrate data from my C drive to an external, to make room to clone onto my SSD, I accidentally uninstalled Guild Wars 2. It finally happened - it's uninstalled.

It's a new morning boys and girls. Today is likely the day where we finally get that Mesmer Elite Specialization post. With a possible Ready Up about it tomorrow.

Great, I guess. As long as I get my info dump.

I've also been persuing the official forums since the specializations info dump last week. The PVP related pages are all filled with a mix of disappointment and excitement, with the exception of PvP and Necromancer forums. The latter makes me sad and wonders of the silent majority is like me and overall happy with Necromancer.

Time to buy all the shield skins.

Mapping the three Orr zones is a quick-n-easy way to get over the skill challenge treshhold, I'd think. Chance at some useful runes/mats too.

I might actually watch points of interest tomorrow, learning about specializations is what I wanted most ever since the expansion was announced.

I've actually been surprised at how many people on my contacts list and such have been spending so much time in DT and SW. I guess some people really want into the beta.

Even when GW2 was first coming out I only ever participated in I think one of the betas/tests. Can't really get excited about them.

Nice. The aggressive potential of my favorite Dota hero, now in GW2! Now you can overextend heavily, get a kill or secure/defend a point and then just shift back to safety. I wonder if it will shift you back if you're stunned or downed.

That sounds cool, but PvP'ers might not be thrilled about wells.

Edit : In WvW though those sound quite good when you push through enemy lines.

Wow these chronomancer skills are mind-boggling. You can see some of the fundamental templates of other skills under there (engi's shield throw, wells, spectral walk) but throw it all in together with the new Alacrity (new opposite condition of chill- I think it may speed movement as well as skill recharge) and you've got insanity.

Shatter mesmers will have insane burst combos. I'm still interested in building a support condi mesmer for wvw though.

Yeah, seeing that Mesmers will have wells, now I see many people going nuts speculating for other classes, like Guardian trapper or Necro shouts according to Nike[DnT]'s theory relayed by Brazil on a recent podcast about a Banshee specialisation.

The coming weeks certainly will be interesting.

Continuum Split is confirmed as a new F5 skill. I'm going to have to edit my key bindings

Gravity Well (the elite) is almost definitely a large AoE pulse for Slow; the skill is likely the inverse of Time Warp.

unless i am remebering this wrong , i think weltall's controller preset left the press left thumb stick alone so i might just put in there if possible .

It's not a mesmer that has wells bro

Retro, expect it near three p.m.. You know the deal.

Chronomancers (funny enough changes to chimpanzees as auto correct) will be a force to be reckoned with, and are probably going to be the majority of mesmers you see after launch. The skills are damn powerful

I was wrong about the clones getting different effects, but now I have to wonder if they'll at least look different. We already get a different class icon for it.

Dunno how people who use that scheme do jumping puzzles properly with jump mapped to the A button. I have jump mapped to left thumb stick press, so that I can still aim mid-jump with my right thumb on the right stick.

I like how over a year ago Mesmers had time warp cut in half only to now possibly have it returned to its former glory.
