They're using the Reach engine as a base and modifying it, that has already been established, Frankie verified quite a while ago. That doesn't mean Halo 4 will have Reach's exact gameplay, it simply means they have the code for Reach and can use it as the starting point.
New Halo 4 feature: You can give GGs at the post game screen and it will show you how many GGs you received for that helpful game.
*Looks at Halowaypoint.com*
*shudders*
Well you really wouldn't know afterwards, it would be 90% guesswork.I guess no one will truly know until the first gameplay reveal.

There are two things I feel confident about with Halo 4 :
The Engine (Corrinne Yu seems like a God-Tier programmer, no doubt she has a good team behind her)
The Sound Design (Tojima <3)
Do we know who the composer is though? I thought they were going to reveal that soon.

Can we sacrifice a Grunt at the altar of the french leakers in order to get something tomorrow?
I have plenty of fun between Asura's Wrath/Binary Domain and VITA but I wouldn't mind some Halo 4 news. At this point I'm kind of spent from having to compose myself and not cry like a baby to get something with Forerunners to dream about.
It's going to be a collaboration between Breaking Benjamin and Skrillex.
The main theme will be called "Blow Me Awubwubwubwub".
They would rather eat it~
Sounds like an underwater orgy
Back in those days, Halo was far and away the best console shooter as well. Not so much now.
True dat.Yeah but without any information that could mean anything, in programming especially, for all we know they could be keeping just the fundamental core procedures and changing everything else. It really depends on how much of it they are using.

Dani would systematically go through and thank every single match anyone ever played.
It's funny. I think the Active Roster is Reach's best contribution to the entire series. For a game with such a strong multiplayer component, the Active Roster is pretty much essential. The information it effortless conveys is important and having it all laid out for you is just perfect.
You can see who's on. Who is partied up into which parties. How long a party has left in a game and overall score. You can find all of this out in seconds in one screen for most part (sometimes two!) - something that used to take a serious chunk of time and many, many deep dives into the 360 OS.
Going back to Halo 3 feels like a generation backjump due to the lack of Active Roster and I honestly cannot imagine playing Halo in future without it.
I don't like that during the MM process active roster goes away.
I imagine there's implications to keeping it up when the matchmaking process starts. If you left it up for example, people would tend to yank their party by joining someone on their friends list if they didn't get rivals/gametype they didn't like and bringing everyone with them.
I know in Halo 3, as long as the party leader has an open lobby they can join, they can attempt to join it via the FL and you can Bring Party, yanking your entire party out of the voting screen, so people http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=459213&page=292could be DNF'd against their will fairly easy if the Active Roster stayed there at all times. In the current setup, the party leader has to back everyone out into the lobby context, at which point the AR comes back signifying that it's okay to invite/join people again.
Even Anniversary's weirdly stapled on Active Roster was a big improvement over the previous games. Would have been real nice for ODST, but I also liked how they really used that screen space since they knew there'd never be more than 4 people in a lobby.
Damn dude sounds like you played a lot of firefight todayOverkills today...0
Triples today...Probably 6-10
Probably like 5 pages late but I believe the TTL HaloGAF fued stemmed from the fact that both sides would regularly have teams of 8 going into Halo 3 BTB. For a while there it seemed we would get matched up against them nightly. I think BS Angel used to run with them at the time too. Needless to say HaloGAF came out on top.
Was it TTL we faced in the Halo Community Tournament?
TTL feud? Isn't TTL filled with stinky kids? Must be a one sided feud.

Official MLG settings come out today.
Looking forward to Beaver Creek, Damnation and less grey!

EDIT: When are we all getting 24 fileshare slots again?
I had to play 35 games in Infection this weekend just for Condemned to show up for that Defiant achievement. I am not playing Reach Infection ever again.
But I was given a chance to take one more look at it with fresh eyes.
To do this, we didnt simply skin the Halo 3 engine with a new story and fancy art. That would have been easy (and probably would have made the powers above us much happier). Instead we decided to do it right and rebuild the game from the ground up because it was the only way we could bring this final game to life and do it justice. We built Halo: Reach to be one of the most sophisticated and feature rich games the world had ever seen. It took everything we had, but when Reach finally launched out into the world we felt proud that it could stand up to the legacy of Halo created and built by Bungie.
I feel sorry for you.
This caught my eye
I wonder what Microsoft thought of the final product considering they would have been much happier with a reskinned Halo 3? Reach is rather a drastic depature from Halo 3.
Could this also be a gentle hint of what to expect from Halo 4? A back to basics approach that plays closer to Halo 2/3? Seeing as 343 is founded from within MS I can see the publisher having a greater degree of influence on the design philosophies of Halo going forward.
Why won't Marcus Lehto just admit the truth, that he is ultimately responsible for creating a crap Halo game?
Thoughts?
Submission format, ranked by preference (i.e. flexibility for me):
1. Link to full game film in your file share, with a time stamp and description (e.g. Triple Kill at 3:43).
2. Link to film clip in your file share. (Be sure to pad it with a few seconds before/after.)
3. HD capture of your clip. (Can also be a link to the film rendered on B.net)
4. SD capture of your clip.
That's alotta work captn
Anyone see the new 360 today?
Wonder if a green slim is in the works for Halo 4. I love my Halo 3 360 but it's getting long in the tooth, and I freaking love green consoles.
Thoughts?
Give mama sum suga.
Good idea.
Also just remembered England v Dutchland tomorrow. Bring it, you chest kicking scumbags. I.e. OddOne, Robbert and Chris.
Its funny because the Halo 3 Pistol has the exact same shots to kill as the Reach pistol does. It just goes to show how much the gameplay has changed when the weapon goes from unbearable in one game to viable in the next.
I'd like to know this too. I tried the Killzone demo and found it incredibly lacking. I've played the Uncharted series, which was fun for a one-time playthrough. No idea what else to get. Maybe Bioshock Infinite whenever it comes out this year.
Montage sounds great! I'll submit my collection of 700 yoinks.
I think he's talking about project cost there. It was already mentioned in one of the vidocs that Microsoft essentially told them they'd have no problem phoning in a game on the Halo 3 engine to satisfy the contract, and Bungie elected to not do so.
Microsoft is notorious for being cheapasses with their game division.

I just checked, and I actually only have 45!700 only, pathetic!
