/FILE EXTRACTION-RECONSTITUTION COMPLETE/

Realistically, the pervasiveness of the modern soldier will never
be on the decline, at least not in our time . But ubiquity and
numbers don’t always guarantee operational success, something
Naval Intelligence recognized long ago. Rather than drown out our
enemies in an avalanche of bodies, we saw the value intrinsic in
the specialization and refinement of a very select number of
soldiers - a remarkably select number , actually.

This is how the Spartan branch came to be .

By reverting back to ORION protocols, the sins of the previous
administrations have been averted this time around. Unlike
SPARTAN-II and SPARTAN-III , which will likely face severe ethical
scrutiny in the years to come, the SPARTAN -IV project was
centered on properly screened recruits, both career military
veterans and young soldiers who showed significant promise. After
passing a rigorous series of tests, admission to the program was
a matter of discretion, not compulsion.

From a psychological perspective, the coalescent solidarity of
these men and women has been nothing short of astonishing ,
particularly over a relatively short period of time . Many have
even adopted some of the colloquial pejoratives used by S-II
operatives years ago [i.e. ‘alpha bravo’ (‘alien bastard’)].
Behavioral shifts like these have and will continue to
differentiate S-IVs from the others who serve alongside them. It
clearly suggests that the Spartan branch has rapidly and
unapologetically become its own thing... almost overnight.

But what value is a warrior without a war? What good is weapon
without a threat to give it purpose? You know as well as I that
these are the very questions that were asked just before the
beginning of the last civil conflict we faced and these are the
same questions that are being asked now - asked by those who feel
they have the most to lose.

DAMN I never noticed the Incinerator Cannon had such an awesome looking shot. The way the flames move around like that make it super distinct.

IMPACT
Description: This observation outpost was established to examine the site of a spectacularly violent meteor collision recorded by an ONI patrol drone in 2547. When researchers first arrived, they were startled to find a non-native fragment of the impacting agent had actually survived and was of unknown origin. More recently, interest in the site has grown as the fragment has proven to have originated from long before the earliest of known Forerunner artifacts.

Hmm

This was hidden in the bulletin....

Somebody "Recover the garbled bits" - I'm at work and don't have any programs to attempt this.

Where'd you find that?

the thruster thing is useless... love the jump at 2:10 and misses because of the thruster lol

I agree. I was planning on using the thruster but now I don't know, it's been nerfed into the ground. All the armor abilities looks useless really, there's nothing I can actually see myself using.

This may sound silly, but does any part of WolfGaf want to have a reunion tour on Reach leading up to Halo 4 starting tonight?

I'll go with Promethean Vision (despite thinking it is fairly worthless [if i know the maps, i can predict where others move and so on], better recon is always good) or Hardlight Shield (cool, might save me in some situations, though so can the Thruster, especially from vehicle splatters).
But yeah, none of them seem to be particularly powerful... Frankly, i like that. They're extra, something that allow tricks, occasionally useful.

So it's a gimped midair evade now, no biggie. Like you said they all look less prominent in the videos than Reachs AA's but an extra little boost to get me behind a corner is all you need some times.

Has 343 ever released the full list of support upgrades and tactical packages? I was going to compile them for the OT, but am debating just mentioning each as a category, since I can't find primary sources on many of them.

Here's all I can find, other than the Specializations from one of the Bulletins.

I am glad that the armor abilities are not that powerful and I really hope people don't start complaining about them being underpowered..

I want it to be like frankie said "more like tuning an engine than getting a brand new one". I know he said this about specializations but I like the fact it seems to apply to AA's as well.

Looks fun! Binary rifle looks insane.

Glad to see Armor Abilities are nerfed to hell. :D

Edit: damn, beaten.

form the list I see how..lol jet-pack for me is a never.. so the shield and PV pretty much, and PV is something the you shouldn't use to much because getting to used to it... Will make you a lazy player without it. Its weird having sprint not be an ability.. really glad its not though <3 sprint used it 100% of the time in Reach...

:lol

I'm pretty sure, that behind the corrupted picture file, is a Forerunner symbol, like previously. Try to open it with Notepad/ Notepad ++ and see if there is something weird in it.

Edit:

I thought this too.

Until I played with it. PV and Jetpack are undoubtedly the most powerful abilities.

I hate Jetpacks more then Armor Lock and this will never change. But guess you are right, they could be very powerful. We'll see what turns out to be good.

It sort of looks like a hidden stereoscopic 3d image, but it's not all there...

And the left border reminds me of the part of a VCR recording or TV broadcast that's usually cropped by overscan on a CRT, which should be on top.
