Wow if you somehow get an early copy next week that's gonna suck.
Huh? What do you know that I don't? lol

THIS IS AMERICAHint for America: if you lay your power lines underground, you get a lot fewer outages.
No thank you
The longest power shortage I've had in Holland was 2,5 hours, and that was 5 years ago. Don't think I've had any problems since then.
Though you should see or train system in the winter. Complete clusterfuck.

THIS IS AMERICA
We don't plan ahead.
I am about your name change. When did that take place?
Haha I know nothing, sorry.Huh? What do you know that I don't? lol
Guess what? We know that. You seem perfectly willing to cover the enormous cost of modifying the electric power infrastructure across our entire nation though, so thanks for that. This is an infrastructure set up begining around the 1880's, by the way. It really is too bad Edison didn't think of that when he set about electrifying the nation, but hindsight is 20/20. So please, get your air of superiority out of here.Hint for America: if you lay your power lines underground, you get a lot fewer outages.
LAST NAME SOLDIER
FIRST NAME CHILD
I just realized, if we have ~15 minutes per the 50 episodes per season, then doesn't that mean we're essentially looking at a second, 12 and a half hour campaign with god knows how many cutscenes? I wonder if near the end of Season 1 there'll be a "play all" option.

Hint for the rest of the world: America's land size is just short of the entire land mass of all of Europe
Tell that to my county. They're too busy trying to raise $100 million to put a streetcar down an already traffic-clogged street to jack up property values even more.
Huh? What do you know that I don't? lol
lol.
Just because it's a lot of work doesn't mean it shouldn't be done.
apparently you need the railgun practice
Again, pay for it. Of course it should be done, but the U.S. is currently more than 16 trillion dollars in debt. You'd have a hard time convincing the general population that a complete restructuring of the electric power infrastructure should be top on our list of concerns right now.lol.
Just because it's a lot of work doesn't mean it shouldn't be done.
You quite honestly don't have any idea the cost, time, or hassle (political action, right of way, eminent domain) associated with burying the entire grid.
Following your logic we should have a manned mission to mars, a permanent colony on the moon, and Halo 4 should have visible skill ranks and campaign theater. I mean after all it's just a lot of work so it should be done.
Don't die, you are my FLAG wingman. I need you like Cortana needs the Chief.I'm trying to soak up as much internet as I can before this storm hits lol
Non of those are really necessary (ranks and campaign theater are ). However, by the amount of power shortages I read about in the US, a buried power grid would be of great use. You aren't going to tell me all those power shortages don't cost a lot of money. A lot of first world nations have buried power grids and all of them had to pay for it.
The problem arises when cities want to switch from existing above ground utilities to underground utilities. The rough cost is about $1 million per mile to bury it underground. To give you an idea, FPL (Florida Power & Light) has a total of 64,000 miles of distribution lines. A little over a third, 24,000, is buried underground. Therefore, if FPL had to bury everything underground they would look at a total cost of 40,000 x $1 million = $40 billion! That’s roughly $15k per customer or $9.5k if you want to split the cost amongst all customers, which needless to say is a huge amount of money. Even if you divested the cost over ten years for the consumer it would still add $79 – $125/month to their electric bill. Not many customers will opt for that, I can guarantee you that
Lol I think we've finally gotten mad about everything possible here. You quite honestly don't have any idea the cost, time, or hassle (political action, right of way, eminent domain) associated with burying the entire grid.

Hi, I'm a European prick and I'm going to tell America out of the blue to bury their entire power grid and refuse to listen to all the reasons why that's completely impractical!

Welp, that sudden urge to play Forge died quick.
Reach's forge is pathetic

Seeing as it's the last week anyone will be playing reach.. Ever. Lets get a 1 million cR weekly going. Because, why not.
Wonder what the average population for Reach will be once H4 officially releases...
Okay, thanks! Can you link me to the spoiler thread?
Anyhoo, here are my extremely early impressions of the MP - only about 40 minutes of playtime. And for those keeping tally - I really liked Halo, absolutely loved H2 and would consider it one of my favorite games ever, was disappointed by 3, and just casually played Reach and wasn't much of a fan because of awful maps.

I'm cutting out my SP statements from a post elsewhere, so sorry if my syntax is a little goofy:
First thing I noticed - no instruction manual or even a slip. Just a measly Gold Trial and that was it. Lame. I hate that.
Booted up the game - and man, the production values are immediately apparent. The Title Screen just oodles style, and the menu system is very slick. The loading screens have a great look, too. Also, the different modes seem to open with short little CG segments, and they really do a great job of setting up the feel of what you're jumping into.
Holy crap, what a massive graphical step up from the other Halo games. I was someone who was incredibly disappointed by Halo 3 - I felt it was just a small step up from Halo 2. Reach looked a little better, but the framerate was very dodgy. But Halo 4 really does look great. No, it's not quite the looker as Gears 3 or Killzone 3 - but you have to remember, the scale her is significantly greater. My biggest beef with the previous titles was the horrible jaggies littering the screen. Unfortuantely, they're far from completely gone, but it's a massive improvement from Reach. Furthermore, the framerate, at least early on, really holds up well in the action. It feels like a solid 30. I doubt they're hitting quite that - but as someone who finds framerates very important, this game hasn't disappointed from the get-go, at least.
That said, the textures are pretty low-res. Rocks look okay, but ground textures and "crates and boxes" are very plain and blurry up close. Also, I've noticed a very slight "pop-in" on the textures when quickly moving and looking for it - it's not Halo 2 or Rage bad - honestly, it's not bad at all; but it's there.
Multiplayer - Again, very slick menu system. I like the sequence of finding a game and jumping in. So far, I've only played three maps - but already, they seem like a giant upgrade from Reach. Multiple chokepoints, a natural flow the action, and multiple ways to tackle an enemy in any location. Also, there was always a sense of direction. I'm hopeful I didn't just get a rare taste of the good maps - I hope my first impression with all of them is this solid - as the crappy Reach maps are my biggest reason for not playing that game.
Weapons are great, and nothing has felt too overpowered this early on - but really, it's WAAAAAYYYYYY too early for me to stand by that. I can't say I've felt cheated yet, but remember, it's only been a couple games.
The sound is greatly improved. Just fyi; it's a step-up, IMO.
Everything moves faster. The pace is faster. The respawns are closer to the action. The reloads at least feel faster. The vehicles are definitely faster. This definitely feels Call of Duty-ified. Trust me, I'm the LAST person that would be excited for that - but honestly, I gotta say it works pretty well. The action feels quick. But with that said, I hope that the game doesn't lose it's deliberately slow and methodical pace - a staple of the series and the reason I so much loved Objective-type games on Halo and Halo 2.
My big concern is if MP will still have that great, teamwork Halo strategy of the games of old. Nothing was like a team working together, strategically, in a slow and decisive pace to capture a flag or arm a bomb minutes into sudden death. Having a Warhog driver at the ready - a teammate holding the clock by hiding near an objective - a couple guys giving directions from above - while others sneak in through an unwatched corner of the base - that kind of teamwork I'm desperately hopeful has not been cut in favor of a faster moving game.
EDIT: Sorry, don't have a receipt, but I can snap pics of the game from any angle if someone needs that:
Myyke just alerted me of this happening in our games last night.
Making sweet, sweet love to the floor.

I would guess it falls out of the top 15 on the most played chart.

You have to wonder if Bungie cares at all.
Hahahahaha. 'merica.
I had a sudden moment of grace this morning and fixed that bug. Do you want the updated code? Or do you want to wait until I'm done?
Look at what I wrote again. Impractical =/= undesirable.lol, you do realize buried power lines would help with a lot of issues, right?

You should, uh, you know, put those cables underground.Don't bother. I'm not going to have power for the whole fucking week lol
