But even when his statement is parsed as he intended, (you didn't build those roads, bridges, etc. that benefited your business) it's still misguided. Business owners large and small pay taxes which pay for roads and bridges. So the appropriate response is "yes, we did" either way.

It's all about perspective and presentation. Saying "we built this useful thing together through government" is different than saying "you didn't build anything on your own, the government provided these great things that benefit you". And besides, it's not even a legitimate point of contention between parties or ideologies. Almost all Americans believe in allowing the government to tax money for and spend money on public roads. To use that example to try to sweep away a debate about the burgeoning, mismanaged, extra-constitutional mess of bureaucracy in the federal gov't today, or about the irresponsible debt and deficit spending is beyond disingenious.
Man, the design on that ODST is so fucking good.

I think 3 missions a week would have been a lot better than the 5 we get now, there is just too much filler at the moment. A cheap in engine closure cutscene would also be good in the last mission of each week to summarise - right now the fade to black is jarring.
I did enjoy last weeks episodes a lot more than the ones from the first half of spartan ops though - it's certainly improving.

I'm gonna just play devil's advocate and say that a lot of it was us playing not-that-terrible opponents and juices being inexperienced with the game. Frame rate concerns and spawns were legitimate complaints tonight, however, in addition to some connection issues.
Also, since kyle's not here to do it, everyone keep Ron Jeremy in your thoughts. He's fighting an aneurysm for all mankind at the moment.

i love playing some swat. i hadn't played the playlist at all in halo 4 till tonight though.
after some matches, my stats read my k/d in all the positive matches was +119, only one match i ended up negative by -1. 118 clean.

That sounds kind of awesome, actually. It'd be cool to have a competitive Firefight mode where each team fights alongside AI. Like, Arbiter Covies vs. Storm Covies or something. 4v4, plus AI. Each side accrues points as they fight, and can spend points frequently to deploy more Grunts or Jackals, or can save up to unleash the Arbiter himself.
Something along those lines sounds SO MUCH more appealing than Spartan Ops. Even just an expanded Firefight that was made to be more like GoW3's Horde mode... I've been saying this since months before Halo 4 even came out, but I'm so disappointed that SpOps is just another (inferior) campaign. If they wanted a side campaign, I would rather that they released it as DLC, and instead included a cooperative survival/horde mode as the successor to Firefight.

One of my friends got an Xbox and invited me over to play. He asked me to bring Halo 4, so we could do some multiplayer, and I obliged.

The Griffball playlist was not showing up on the waypoint website count even though it was running at about 16,000 when I checked it in-game.
Some people on GAF are so damn weird.
And, as you would expect, there's the perfect random political avatar to go with it. Elegant, indeed.
When you look at Ops from the perspective of elaborating on previously-established characters, I think Ops is doing great work as an insight into Halsey at work--essentially, the same person, except every one who was willing to look the other way and profit from her is now treating her like scum for it.
But there's no such development for the Infinity characters, which I think is kind of a missed opportunity. Aside from Thorne, and maybe a little of Glassman (or as much as we need), we *don't* have a Palmer story and that's always going to gimp her. I'd love a little explanation of how she got to where she is. She can continue to be an egghead-hating space dudebrolady, but I wanna' know why that is. Would be a shame if we didn't get any more on her.
