Halo |OT4| Trust's a Tough Thing to Come by These Days

You mean you don't like Star Wars 1313 explosions that creates waist-high crate cover?

But watch dogs.....yum

Did you not see Watch Dogs?

Haven't seen WD yet. Gonna check it out. Saw the Last of Us demo and everyone's reaction pretty much confirms that QTE and scripted events down exceedingly linear paths are the future many want. It was an interesting take on scripted events to make them contextual though. I guess.

SW was laughable. Splinter Cell was killed before my eyes.

I silently wept for gaming. (Not that dramatic, but damn. Nintendo, come on. Save us!)

Yep. Sad state of things. Though replace AC3 with FC3 for me.

FC3 has swagger.

But it's no more linear and scripted than Halo...

all extra, all included with the game. Five missions, one episode per week.

Ah ok, that answered my question.

I kinda ssumed that, but the way it was worded confused me. I can't complain about 5 missions on top of Campaign that looks gorgeous.

343 hit it out of the park today. Let's hope that the MP stuff tomorrow follows this trend.

So about an hour and 15 minutes of new Halo per week.

Frankie just said one mission per week over 5 weeks (5 TOTAL), right?

Frankie, if this game has 4 player splitscreen co-op, you could take game of the forever.

Think about that for a second. Game of the Forever. Your so close.

I sincerely hope y'all have us splitscreen bros in mind when it comes to Spartan Ops and beyond with Halo 4, as you have had in the past.

Hasn't 4 player co-op splitscreen for campaign at least been confirmed? I'd assume Spartan Ops has the same 4 player split screen.

So, five missions x 5 episodes, delivered over 5 weeks?

15 minutes plus, depending on difficulty

Nope (see above)

Was this posted yet? I haven't seen it anywhere. Slightly better view of some new armor, the one in the center looks like a version of Halo 3's Scout helmet.

It's from this site, which also has some neat 3D models of stuff and comm chatter from the Infinity.

I really want to understand how:

1) Spartan Ops is different from Firefight

2) How it is different from a Campaign mission

Not structurally - I get the narrative rich, episodic nature of it. But in terms of gameplay. Game starts and....what?

The GTTV thing provided no indication of what the mode is about, other than 1) episodic) 2) co-operative and 3) story-focused.

Which we knew.

Holy shit if true. I won't believe it till I see it from an official source though. I always thought technical limitations prevented this in the past.

What kind of witchcraft are the folks at 343 using to generate that much content for one game?

To put it in kylejspeak: How do they have enough resources for that????

thats what i'm confused by. if there is still campaign co-op, why bother basically doing a stand alone episodic mini campaign co-op mode?

I'd rather have more than 10 maps :/ I'm hoping Spartan Ops doesn't turn into Firefight but with slightly larger environments. It could be very cool though, hoping it adds as much to the game as something like RE4's Mercenaries mode.

One thing we can take away from the campaign demo is that Halo 4's campaign looks to be in the same vein as Halo 1-3 and not an evolution of ODST's hubworld.

Armor tab represented by Armor Lock Logo. Lolz

I don't really know how you could get that from the demo at all. Yeah that part was linear but we are on a giant planet. I think it's still very possible for there to be some kind of hub world in this.

Just a few thoughts on the day:
The campaign demo was awesome. Just beautiful and honestly that's about all I need to see out of the campaign until Nov. It's looking good and that's all i need to know. :)

I would like to see more Wargames and Spartan ops, that 'exulsive' bit on Spartan Ops wasn't much so hopefully we get to see more.

-Also, Frank what was that comment a day ago about we'll have choices to make?

Anyone doing a running list of armor pieces we've seen thus far?
  • Head (Warrior, Soldier, Scout, Locus, Venator, Gungnir, Cio, Deadeye, Hazop, Oceanic)
  • Chest (Venator, Gungnir, Cio, Deadeye, Hazop, Oceanic)
  • Left Shoulder (Venator, Gungnir, Cio, Deadeye, Hazop, Oceanic)
  • Right Soldier (Venator, Gungnir, Cio, Deadeye, Hazop, Oceanic)
  • Arms (Venator, Gungnir, Cio, Deadeye, Hazop, Oceanic)
  • Legs (Venator, Gungnir, Cio, Deadeye, Hazop, Oceanic)
  • Visor

Presumably we'll see the rest of the sets too for those we've only seen helmets for thus far.

So the shield the guy in the Campaign demo uses is the same as shown in the Ops videos, and I assume in Multiplayer as well. Neato.

Yea, in that mp b-roll it shows someone using it

Am I wrong in seeing that each Spartan Ops mission (the 15 minutes Frankie just mentioned) is like a small chunk of a full campaign level? that was my impression. Then each full episode, (over an hour long) is like a full campaign level. That's how I saw it.

Is that wrong?
