Halo The Master Chief Collection |OT| Halo Never Died, It Was Just Missing In Action

I really hope this is on the list of things to fix. Main reason I bought this (xmas for my son....and me).

I don't want to be a downer but I highly doubt they are touching that stuff and if they do it won't be for a long long time

I forgot how brutal Halo 2's Legendary is. LASO must be impossible now!

Beating 2 on Legendary might be on of my proudest moments in gaming when it comes to difficulty. That an then Probably the Trials in GOW3

Well I am getting matches now pretty consistently.

Teams aren't even but playing Team BRs on Guardian makes me feel better.

The backpacking in Halo 3 is real. 1-14 teammate....

Despite being given the prime real estate on Amazon the collection continues to fall.

MS screwed up so bad
I hate to say it but by the time this thing is actually up and running which aint going to be next week you guys might not have anyone to play with.

Will be a big influx of people on Dec 25th and after.

First time playing after the patch. Got into a match in less than 30 seconds -- it has never been that fast before. Hope it stays this way.

I don't have the game yet and I've only been causally following this thread, but despite all the shit going on, I want to ask, how stable are the campaigns? Not split screen, just the ordinary, offline campaigns?

That's a fair point. For me, if I spend money on a game and it is all messed up, I'm probably going to check to see if the company is working on fixing their stuff. I'd definitely be upset, but I'm not quick to toss a 60 dollar game away (always trade-in value if not digital though). Now after a week or two of continued issues, then I would start to lose hope and might say screw it. But that persistence alone might put me in a different category than a casual gamer just trying out a random game for the first time.

I'm speaking figuratively with the trashing of the game, of course. I'd either return for a refund or cash in while the game still had value. CEX in the UK give pretty good cash value on games released in the last 3-4 weeks.

Case in point: I got The Evil Within on launch week. Im a huge fan of the original Resi trilogy and Resident Evil 4. Thought I'd enjoy EW; turns out the camera angle was way too close to the character model and that was unacceptable to me. Game was sold the next day. Resi 4, ten years its senior, was superior in practically every way bar graphically from what I played.

People may be reluctant to sit on the MCC while it declines in value when they could cash in now, go enjoy COD and GTA over the holidays then maaaaaaaaybe pick MCC back up some time next year when it's cheaper (and actually works).

I get into a game of CTF BTB H2A on Bloodline. Having a blast for about 4-5 minutes then we score one....someone quits....Game crashes...feels bad man.

Matchmaking has been working much better today. No crashes. When this thing works it is amazing! Loving single player, never played Halo 1 or 2

sooooooo what's the good word, is it worthy of a purchase yet, or is the Matchmaking still wonky

When you guys say matchmaking is broken

do you mean MP as in PVP, or do you mean co-op?

I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?
Debating if Sandtrap is one of the best or one of the worst maps in Halo.

Always been a Halo 1 & 2 guy; Halo 3 came out my freshman year in college and so I was really busy - didn't play it nearly as much as others.

I've gotten a few BTB games on the map, and it's incredibly unique.

Driveable bases is just an insane twist on basic CTF. When is it best to keep the bases apart from each other? When should we be pushing them together.

Last game I played, we were up by 1 to nothing, and decided to drive our base into the enemies. We were just feet apart - and it was pure chaos but we pulled ahead.

Or when we grab the enemy flag, and drive our base closer. That said, it seems like the rest of the map is kind of poorly laid out - there aren't any clear choke points - and the middle ground becomes ambush central.

One thing is for sure, I like the dynamic... wish more maps did something like this.

Why not wait until the matchmaking patch next week?

Halo CE on legendary isn't very much of a joke as I'm starting to notice. Halo 4 and Halo 3 were really doable and hardly died.

I'm on the third mission, jeez.

Yeah, just finished the 2nd stage myself and it's definitely the hardest Legendary campaign I've played in the franchise, lost count of how many times I died already. It's a testament to how great and fun the gameplay was, that it still holds up today and I won't give up!

1) that's next week, who knows what will happen.
2) the refund can buy another game right now.
3) game should have not launched like this, MP is a big focus to a lot of halo fans and it's not working.
4) I'd be asking for a refund right now if I went digital myself, I also have a cousin and a friend who can't play together because it's broken.

1. Believe
2. True
3. True but it is functional, just slow. (I've completed 40 matches)
4. Sounds like a network problem not the game. I've done several party games and co-op campaign matches with no issues. (Except getting split up into different teams, that's dumb)

My experience with these issues over the years tells me it can take some time to get things like this sorted out.

Hoping 343 proves me wrong and the community gives me the all clear I'll be back ASAP.

I have my xbox right next to my gaming PC. I have no problem waiting. I'm talking over an hour worth of searching as I play on my PC. Nothing. Not functional for quite a few people.

Wish I was able to get 40 matches in on this matchmaking system.

You have done several party games, I (we) have not because MCC.

conceptually it's very unique and great fun when it works. halo 3 sandbox didn't do that map any favors though.

would also like to see more mobile bases.

Oh god you can`t reload a mission in CE by checkpoint. If I want that terminal I missed on 343 Guilty Spark I have to do the whole mission over again. :(

Ah man...I was looking up some easter egg achievements for some missions in CE I've already passed. I am going to have to go through them again at some point then. Missed some skulls on the first couple of missions as well.

Make sure you are sending invites using the roster menu and not trying to just join the friend without an invite. That has worked every time for me without fail. (Yes this shouldn't be a problem)

Any objective on Sandtrap is amazing. Elephant dynamic is so good.

Its very interesting. I've always felt that Halo has never taken Big Team to where it needed to be. A separate Halo property that's kind of Halo's take on Battlefield would be pretty appropriate imo.

I want to go ahead and apologize to anyone who might have suffered my horrible play in Halo 2 Classic Snipers during last match. I've never been the best with a sniper rifle, and this was certainly the first time I've ever played snipers-only online. The connection was sound, so I have only myself to blame, but I consider getting 4 kills an achievement in and of itself, given my terrible sniping abilities.

I can't get a campaign to save at a checkpoint in h2. Always puts me back at the beginning of chapter.

Got into a game of Team Slayer somehow that sucked. I was getting sniped from God knows where, which is zero fucking fun when you're a newcomer. Now it's back to trying to find a game which is useless.

Why I still keep this disc in my X1 is beyond me.

Just played some customs (FFA Halo 3) after attempting to use matchmaking. Old friends, old maps, old game, just as much fun. It was suddenly 2008 again.

Does H2A not have a resume campaign option? My game just froze and I was near the end of 'Delta Halo'. Now I thought I would be able to resume, but it's only giving me the quickstart and missions options. I still have a resume option from my CE campaign even.

Aside from that weird freeze as well as the subsequent lack of resume function. I am loving the H2A experience, they definitely managed to preserve the Halo feel. It was a thing of beauty to play 'Arbiter' and perfectly dodge the fuel rod barrage that was aimed at my banshee.

And hnnnngg at that oomph on the carbine. I was kinda iffy when they showed the new sounds etc. but I am loving them right now. Sword looks and sounds amazing to be honest.

So huh... I'm playing through Halo 1 for the very first time and I'm playing "343 and the guilty spark" right now but when I pause the game the menu says I'm doing The Library??

Yep, it skips the mission if you save and quit too. Best thing to do is finish the level in one sitting, or go to mission select, select 343 Guilty Spark and start over. You can save and quit half way through and not worry that way.
