Well this is depressing. Every day that these issues persist lowers the chance of Halo ever regaining its former glory.
The first few weeks of a game's launch are by far the most important. Even if the game is perfect in a month's time (which at this point I think is a fair assumption), the damage is done.

Patch did nothing for me. In the support chat queue now to get that refund.
Edit: Took about 40 mins, not bad. Rejected at first but at least they got it done. Very doable, to anybody thinking about it, just be polite/firm if they shoot you down initially.

Nah I can't either. Think only digital buyers had luck with that. But at this point I'll take $40 and take my ass to sushi rather than it being a $60 paperweight.

The best of the bunch for me is H2: Anniversary. The rest I just can't find games in with any regularity.
To be honest, I am moving towards getting a refund. The only thing really stopping me at the moment is the fact that I got £20 off the price from Amazon and whether they would refund that back/allow an exchange.
It's really frustrating because this should have been an awesome experience. Goodness knows how long it's going to take to get matchmaking fixed completely and whether it or H5 will take priority as the latter draws closer.
At the very least, I feel like 343 need to come out and explain why these problems exist.

Yeah the patch seems to have solved nothing. Attempted to launch BTB and it almost immediately said players found on the left of screen but never populated the lobby.
Seems to be stuck in a cycle of saying players found and searching for more players. FFS this is getting beyond a joke now. I was happy to play campaign for the first week or so of release but there are only so many grunts and elites I can shoot before I want something else

So it begins with SMG starts in 2014.
I look, look and look for a BR. Decide to wait in the base thinking it'll surely spawn soon enough.
Finally, I have a chance at a Rocket in this 2v4 SMG starts that we could've won without motion tracker.
I don't give up, so I try again! Oh look, this Magnum would definitely help me shred this Rocket guy before he notices me!
Finally, a shot at this Sniper who's been a harassment the entire match..

Soooooo best buy refuses to do a refund on this game because its opened... Has anyone successfully returned a copy ? Can I contact xbox/microsoft directly to get a refund because I do not want a $60 coaster. This has just been such a horrible experience so far. 343 studios/Microsoft, this has got to be one of the worst fuck ups you guys have done. My trust in these two just went to an all time low of any company. I bought an xbox one mainly for this game. Luckily destiny is picking up the slack, not by much either.
Every reviewer that reviewed this game and gave it more than a 4 should be ashamed. You guys reviewed a non working game with all these problems as AMAZING! BEST EVER! It's fn pathetic and sad. Shows the sorry state of gaming journalism and the amount of bullshit companies can get away with. This game collection should never have shipped. How the fuck did people not find these issues in testing?? Was there no internal testing done?

I wasn't able to return Driveclub to Best Buy so I traded it in for $40.
The MCC was supposed to be a way for newcomers to the franchise (with people having bought consoles) to experience halo for the first time but instead this has been a terrible mess and major dent on the franchise.
Hands up, I'm a major multiplayer halo fan but the multiplayer problems have been a travesty since launch.
We could say that the problems lie in going dedicated, after all halo 1-4 were all peer to peer and therefore a different beast, but the likes of titanfall have shown that teams can produce systems that work well on azure and have them release early.
The worse part of this is that the problems occur before you actually get into a game, so its not the in game netcode, but the web services that build up the searching side that 343 can't get right. I've waited patiently for a week for a resolution to come and instead we have a patch that still doesn't work well.
I have zero faith that 343 will narrow this problem down quickly and get it resolved, after taking longer than expected multiplayer still being majorly broken is a major kick in the teeth.
I'm pretty pissed off really, this is coming from someone who has clocked in 10's of thousands of games of halo.
I've bought a game that has devalued over the time we've had it and that has not been fit for (multiplayer) purpose, game uk are now selling the limited edition version for the same price that I paid for my normal vanilla version.
I've learnt my lesson, I'm dropping my halo 5 pre-order and will wait for reviews and gaf feedback before buying it. That's a sad state of affairs for me as I've owned ever MS console and halo game on day one but I've lost faith.

So the game is still broken. Damn. I haven't played it yet, I had to get up for work early. I just downloaded the patch. My hopes are slowly dwindling. If the can't get it right with a 1.4gb patch, I'm wondering how long it could be before the game actually works. If it will ever work right, that is.

Im pretty sure he's already aware of this shit. If he isn't than thats bad. I highly doubt he can do anything now. 343 fucked up bad, whoever ok'd the release fucked up bad. only other game that had a shit show of a launch like this was battlefield.
All this just cemented my feelings about day 1 game purchases. Don't do it.
I think the biggest difference in experience is playlists. There's more players in certain playlists = better chance of a game. They also do things like latency matching, hence why you end up with players generally closer by where you live. So some areas = difficult to get games. Especially for example Big Team Battle.

It still isn't where it should be but progress has been made, I'm getting into games now, still not as fast as destiny or titanfall but it's better.
As long as they are into it, keep the updates coming and get this thing to where it should be.

There is nothing wrong with expecting your product to not be completely broken at the time of purchase. I haven't returned it but support those that have.

So this still isn't working correctly after the patch?
I'll give it a try, but if it's still busted for me and Microsoft Store won't allow a return, I'm trading it in to Best Buy for $44.80 with GCU, and then picking up Dragon Age for $48 with GCU. Online multiplayer was my sole reason for buying this game, so no point in keeping it if it's not functioning correctly.
