I wonder how much better the matchmaking would be if the game would only use dedicated servers like Titanfall does. Also will people start leaving games when they see that it is clearly P2P?

I'm sorry, I meant from a communications perspective. Spenser should be out there reaffirming how important the franchise is for MS and how this game is going to get fixed very soon.

Where are you located? What playlists? Avg time searching to get into a fully loaded game with even teams? How many people do you play with?
I'm in the east coast US and have tried all lists. Trying to play with friends online just doesn't work. It won't connect to the game no matter how many time we back out, reboot and retry. Game is broken on the basic netxode level.

I've gotten into way more matches since the patch, even matches outside of Halo 2 Anni, but the teams are almost always uneven(or 3v3)

Party system is still hit and miss for me, but matchmaking seems to work well enough, at least for H2A. Though, one of the games split my party up. All two of us. :/

Yeah me too but I don't support them getting the same perks as us who stuck around through the shit and kept the game.
Colorado and the two different halo2 play lists is all I have tried so far. I play alone or with my wife in a party and it has been fine too. My NAT is moderate even after putting the xbox on the DMZ on my router but that didn't change anything. Takes 3 min or so to get a full match with even teams most of the time. Granted it is not 100% working but it works as well as I remember halo2 working.

So others who bought a broken game day one aren't entitled to anything because they didn't bend over and take it like you?
I'm not even confident it's going to be 100% fixed. They'll probably do a couple patches that marginally improve things and then wash their hands of MCC and focus on Halo 5. Then you'll have the apologists defending the game as being such a huge undertaking no way should anyone have ever expected it to fully work.

Wonder how many people have asked for a refund - must be a significant number.
It really does, this is embarrassing and now needs to go past 343 to the publisher. This whole fiasco is unacceptable on any level.

I was but it wasn't all the time. Solo 50% would take 5-10 mins of 3-4 min search/research tries... the other 50% just wouldn't work. Regardless of playlist etc.
With te varying results I really believe something has to be happening tied to location etc. How can some of us apparently have few issues while others of us have a broken multi player experience?! Location and server relationship?

This was my most anticipated game this year.
Id get it if the game wasn't perfect today. That'd be fine. If some of the little issues still persisted, i get it.
But the fact that not only does multiplayer STILL not work, but stuff they put in the damn patch notes just seems to be made up (seriously, the patch says it fixes parties staying together, but it just...doesnt. what the actual fuck)
343 needs to either give us a real answer today to what the hell the patch was supposed to fix, some kind of timeline, or SOMETHING today, or else I'm gonna go home, hit find game, and if i get searching, I'm picking up the phone with xbox support and getting a refund or credit towards another purchase.

So bending over is the same as being patient and not crying seconds after the patch is released? I guess with other things going on in my life it is not that important that it is working 100% day one. The single player is more than enough for me right now and it is working fine. I don't think those who get a refund or return it by being a prick and demanding a refund are entitled to anything that 343 does for us above and beyond after this is all over with. They got their money back when it explicitly says NO REFUNDS when they bought it. Disc people don't get refunds if its open either.
Same way xbox is doing perks for having an xbox one before October and 10 hours of use they are getting a perk for this too. Not the guy who just heard about it and got one today. There is something to be said for loyalty and not just abandoning ship the second it is not working 100%.

A lot of us just really enjoy multiplayer exclusively and have essentially a coaster for a disc or 55 GBs on their hard drives of useless space.

Game isn't functioning properly. Complaining over and over about the same stuff isn't going to fix it.
Play single player or co-op.
Play customs.
Put the game away and play something else if need be.

People were sold a faulty product that did not (and does not) work as advertised, how hard is that to understand? The Xbone example is different because in this case the product is currently actually defective by any reasonable standard.
The should do something that will also bring people back, not just reward people who stayed.

How am I an apologist? I flat out said it's broken. They need to fix their shit. But complaining about it repeatedly and angrily circlejerking with all the other people mad about their video game not functioning properly is a waste of time and page space.
In my case patch has improved things.I can at least play some matches now and waiting is a lot shorter than it was before.Played some Team Slayer and BTB.CTF on Standoff in Halo 3 is a lot of fun just like I remember it.
It's far from perfect though.Sometimes I have to restart searching and wait a lot more than I would like too.Also there is some lag but it probably depends on who is hosting.
Also there is a lot of people from USA and Europe mixed together in matches and it can't be good.

Nope. You'd take it to them, they'd agree to fix it, and you'd sit there and wait for it to get done, wouldn't you? I doubt you'd stand there breathing down their necks while they fixed it, bitching and moaning about how it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Squeaky wheel mate. Nothing more. We shut up we get overlooked. They already have our money, remember? Their only incentive to fix things (ok besides being decent people and caring about the brand which I do believe 343 are/do.) is to save their face in the media and on the net. This could damage them if they don't fix things... And they know it. So they will. (hopefully). So until then we should all remain vocal.

Even if it wasn't I would be fine with it as is right now knowing that it will be working soon. It isn't like 343 or Microsoft is just going to abandon this game today and we all have nothing.
Yeah I am really ballwashing here. How is being patient and not saying "Fuck you 343 and microsoft my life is ruined I need my $60 back!" ballwashing? Even if it didn't work for me so well I would still just wait for now. Knowing that it will work and that 343 will do something for us is even better. That $60 was spent knowing that there could be problems. Being an adult and understanding that this could happen with any game. There are games broke all the time being repaired and worked on it isn't a surprise so much anymore.

My checkpoints are good so far. That was before the patch though so I see no change really. I understand that it is faulty and it has not been 100% functional for me either. I can understand that but rushing for the refund and then expecting to get the perks of the rest of us that stick around is bullshit. You got your money back after getting a game that specifically stated no refunds. Someone (store or online) had to do something special to get that money back for you. Getting people back is getting the game running as intended to me. If I returned it and weeks later heard it was good that would get me back.
I don't expect special treatment since I got my money back after playing the game. It is understood in this age that the game could be broke in some way and day one adopters should know this by now. I don't understand how no refunds is a problem. The game is sold as is knowing that it will be patched and fixed as time goes on. Even changed to fit the player base. I never got an online game and said well there is 10 maps and that is it with 2 game modes. We all seen that change as in Destiny and Titanfall. They added more over time and tweaked it all to be better for the players.
There's not nearly as many as there still are for other games. Some amount of people are passionate fans that want to keep the anger down. I get that.
Yelling back at them doesn't help the conversation any more than them yelling at people who are legitimately angry.
