No... Halo 2 Anniversary multiplayer is a completely separate from Halo 2 classic multiplayer, and CE, 3, and 4 are only running in their original graphical engines, no remastered modes at all.

It's the old ranking system for Halo 2. I'm not sure how the ranking works for the H1, H3 or H4.

Preloading is something that Sony (in my experience at least) seems to get right and that Steam has done flawlessly for years. How MS managed to cock it up I do not know.

It does but it still takes a lot longer than it would on PS4 in my experience. I think it's been said that it downloads it game by game so I think you can play certain ones whiles the other ones download.

Yes, "Installing", but the bar was already full. I went to Xbox home, reloaded the game and it started.

edit - but it's been 12 hours since then, and I still can't find an online match. Doesn't even find one other person.

Guys - if you are having to reinstall the game, are you selecting 'Reinstall' to clear the 'Preload' prompt?

If you restart the Xbox (from System -> Power menu) it should clear the Preloaded prompt without reinstalling.
