Gotta go fast. This is the World record holder doing a guide.
Each Halo game can be completed in under 3 hours on Legendary. Halo 4's record is sub 90 minutes, Halo CE is also sub 90 minutes, Halo 2 is 1h 43m (Halo 2A is 2h 21m), Halo 3 is 90m 46s, ODST is 1h 31m, and Reach is 1h 48m.
Does anyone know why there are 2 different versions of Steitzer in H2A Territories? There is his filtered "Hype" voice for everything new, and then his old voice for Territory lost/captured. Felt really out of place.

Someone help me with xbone sound settings. I have a 2.1 soundbar + subwoofer combo. What should I use for the sound settings? I tried Stereo uncompressed but that doesn't seem to use the subwoofer, so I try 5.1 uncompressed but that seems like the mix is off or something. for instance I was just playing Halo 2 Classic MP and the ambient sounds of the map were insanely loud while everything else was muffled, couldn't even hear the announcer.

Buddy is in town visiting and we have been having a blast playing 1v1 custom.
But...WHY...WHY...in a game with just...a horrific UI already...WHY THE FUCK...do the settings reset every time you quit a fucking match?

I got owned, and there was lag BUT I PLAYED.
Ended up connecting to a second match so it seems the game is actually being fixed in the background. I even I can play, almost everyone should be able to play soon.

I contacted xbl chat support. We went round and round for about a half hour, and they did NOT want to refund me. I asked "Ruscel":
"If you bought a broken coffee maker from a store, would you return it for a refund?"
he said he would
"I don't see this as being any different. I would like a refund for this game."
And after some more consulting with his boss, he agreed to a "one time exception" and refunded my money.

I can find Team Slayer matches but I haven't been able to find a single BTB match after the update.
I just wanna play Halo 4.

I 'love' how the matchmaking system actually puts premades versus randoms, getting absolutely destroyed by a premade that actually communicates while I am 100% sure my team consists out of Halo virgins. Sigh.. frustrating.
Any campaign without Master Chief is best campaign. Long Night of Solace is my best FPS mission ever.
One has to ask how badly this has stalled any momentum the Xbone had this month. I just can't fathome how badly the higher ups are stewing over this ... "343 you had one god damn job, and you have stalled any momentum."

Holy shit, I think the playlist might be what's bugged. I went to get the Midnight par time, selected through the campaign section, completed it, and it says I completed Solo. No fucking Co-op at the end screen.
But that also means I have to replay the fucking game again.
Also I did not get the nameplate for beating the par times for all Halo 4 missions, but I instead got the Halo 3 version.
This fucking mess.

We aren't gonna ge the patch today or tomorrow, I wonder if they'll make it in time for black friday and if they'll be able to let any unsuspecting new owners actually play the game they bought

I'm playing through the campaigns, I never realized how big of a leap (sound, animation, graphics, etc) Halo 2 is over Halo CE. Not just the anniversary treatments, but the original graphics and sound.
Not only that, but playing the two back to back, (to me at least) it's apparent that Halo 2 is just the better game overall. I think it's got better designed combat scenarios and environments. Really looking forward to continuing on to Halo 3 and 4, and seeing all the campaigns compare when played in a row like this.
I'm really enjoying my time with the collection so far, it's such a shame there's so many technical issues present, especially with multiplayer (which I haven't attempted to get into yet).

That's the main problem - the playerbase will be obliterated. Halo 5 beta will bring some back, but the hits have been taken.

That genuine 2004 experience. Nothing better than seeing a guy get shot at by an entire team (counting like 8+ BR rounds min.) while getting perfectly 4shotted in the same game.

I don't have that soundbar, but you should be using Stereo and the sound bar should automatically be sending low frequencies to the sub. Key words there are should. If you use 5.1 on the Xbox One, does the sub fire?

Yeah, it stinks. I think I am at the acceptance stage. It doesn't look like it'll be fixed anytime soon so I try not to think about the games I'm not playing.
That does depend on the sound bar though. If it is a cheap give away that came with a TV or is a walmart special there is a good chance that it won't do anything right.
If it came witha remote, check there for any settings that might help.

Games are loading consistently for me now. Even/proper teams, too! Had a few good matches over the course of an hour.

Some will and some won't. Many in this thread have said I will buy it back once it is fixed however more casual players won't care as they will move on to other games.
what "other games" can be compared to this one?
I'm guessing you have already tried the bitstream setting?

a lot of people returned it. Its out of sight and out of mind for all my friends who are now playing the plenty of great games that just came out and you know.....work.

Same here, I got 3 or 4 games of big team battle with some great CTF battles on Standoff and Avalanche. However it's disturbing how many people are voting for Halo 4.

imo, nothing. you can make a lot of comparisons while this one doesnt work.
once it does work, comparisons start to pale..

But people have either got a refund, gave up or not bought it at all. They won't see the game fully working, they have moved on.
It's a real challenge these days to have any sort of decent player retention because there are so many great online games to play, you have to perform well in that first month and if you don't people move on pretty quickly. It's only two weeks since release of this game but the amount of games that have come out since then it feels like months ago.
I am still waiting to buy this, 2 of my friends have it and can't get a game and just moan about it constantly. I won't be spending any of my own money on it until it's fixed but if it takes 1 month + to fix I will have moved on to something else by then.
Once MCC is MOSTLY working, I do agree that people will come back. Not everyone, especially the more "casual" crowd, but the longtime/hardcore Halo fans will be back. And I most certainly agree with you in that a working MCC pretty much dwarfs all other current releases right now (at least among action/FPS).

Maybe because people didn't really hate halo 4 that much, it just released at a horrible time. I had a blast in mp, but then, blops2 cane out a week later and I was like 'halo who'
People like me are going in like 'oh yeah halo 4 was fun, I forgot'

and you are correct, in real life friends I dont know anybody who thought/said to me ever "oh boy, what a bad game h4 is"
plus, try to assess today's situation of comparing what halo we have with what call of duty we have..... the only way cod comes on top is while all the halos dont work
