If the game had launched in this state I'd still be complaining about all the bugs and uneven teams but compared to how it was before the latest patch, this is heaven.

Just played 5 vs 3 on Ivory Tower and my team of 3 won :)

Depends on how lucky you are. Some people are finding games no problem. Others still can't find games at all; I spent half an hour today entering searches and restarting them after a few minutes, couldn't get into anything.

And of course people are still reporting bugs with team setup and the like, such as split-screen users being put onto separate teams.

Some people are saying that it's better than it was, but calling it "fixed" would be one of the most generous things that anyone could say about anything.

But I think they factor in the player levels, don´t they?

I played 3 vs. 4 and the team of 3 hat the stronger players => So basically even again.
 
It's really apparent what a step back Halo 3 was compared to Halo 2 when you can play one right after the other. Halo 3's BR is a total mess.

Also, is there ANY way to get a regular control scheme on Halo 3 that takes everything back to the X button? This shit is really throwing me off.

Also, Boxer on Halo:CE is still wrong. They have throw grenade mapped to RB, which is funny considering the OG Xbox controller didn't even have a fucking RB.

This is a really minor thing, but I wish the universal reclaimer control option would let you crouch in Halo 1-3 by clicking the left stick. It goes unused in those games.Actually, letting completely customize the button layout would be ideal. I realize they have bigger problems at the moment though...
 
Fuck, I re bought the game for 40 bucks from a friend who didn't want the code from his bundle. Figured I might as well get it cheap since I was planning on rebuying it sometime in December anyway. Me and my impulse buys sometimes...
 
Definite improvement in matchmaking times for me this morning. Still struggling in BTB, unless it just takes longer in general to get games in that playlist.

Playing Halo 3 again is so much fun.

Edit: as I say that, a game of Halo 3 crashes before starting ...

In an hour and 10 minutes of trying to get it to work I was able to only play one game with a buddy of mine in matchmaking. I think it performs better if you go into matchmaking alone, but seriously the game is far from being solid, it's just a bit less broken. IN that hour this is what we experienced.

-Not being able to join each others parties
-The party saying my buddy joined even though he didn't
-The one game we got into we were on separate teams
-Matched us into two different games once that never got past the loading screen
-Kicked us out into some random dudes party with like 6 others
-Matched us into a game that was 6 on 5 and never started

aim acceleration alone kills the game IMO
 
Definitely an improvement in the MP department, tried playing yesterday and got into many games with a few of them being uneven. However though, I'm not focused on that aspect as I am still going through the different various things to go for in the campaigns and enjoying it alot.

Good advice, Titanfall is very much alive and kicking on Xbox Live. And it's a lot of fun, too.

Also, consider Sunset Overdrive and/or Forza Horizon 2. Fantastic exclusives.

Although the MCC should keep you busy with the campaigns, too, in case MP doesn't really work for you either.
 
Ordered a blue camouflage XB1 controller :3 Yay. Wish they had a red one though.

Definitely pick up Titanfall while it's still $12.49. Incredible deal since it includes the season pass, and it's a very solid shooter.
Gonna need something to play while you wait for MCC to be fixed :P

I don't have to back out or hard reset my console to play my other games... Enjoying Limbo just fine now with no headaches. Enjoyed Advanced Warfare and Sunset Overdrive with no headaches. Never Alone and Wolf Among Us with no headaches.

This MCC game is fucking trash and I am so glad I didn't buy it. Nevermind the matchmaking issues - there are problems with campaign too.

Don't give a shit. 343 shouldn't have sold a product that needed 6-12 more months in the oven. Guaranteed that 6 months from now newbies will still pop in to say "How come I lost my progress in Halo 2?"
 
Also, I know I'm the only one kicking and screaming about this, but wtf at this franchise: By design, checkpoints are not saved in co-op campaign.

I don't get how no one else sees this as a problem. Why would checkpoints be saved in solo but not in co-op campaign?

The worst thing is that will never get fixed. It's not a bug. It's by design. It's been like that for 10+ years. Every Halo has had this "feature".

And those problems are being re-iterated by other posters as well, so what`s the issue? I was excited to buy the game because the only Halo game I've played was Halo CE, and I wanted to dive into the Halo series properly. I dodged a huge bullet by skipping out on the Buy-Two-Get-One-Free deal from Target a couple of weeks ago... I almost bought AC Unity and Master Chief Collection but I decided to focus on just playing Sunset Overdrive and Evil Within instead.

I lurk the thread about once every two days hoping to see that everything is fixed. Then I see posters telling some guy "But the patch works dude, you just have to hard reset your console" and that grinded my gears... If this game needs a hard reset post-patch, then 343 should've included UI prompts for that.

Well, this is... new.

Played some Halo 4 campaign before bed, and this was there instead of the final mission. Could hear the cutscene sound behind it, and then everything just stopped. Could go to the home menu and back into the game to bring up the pause UI, but nothing on there worked.

Had to close the game and fire it up again, and of course progress wasn't saved.

Again, I'm lucky I enjoy playing this game so much, because they're sure making me do that a lot.
 
Yep its official. The new patch made this game impossible to play with friends. Wont ever find a match and if by some miracle that it does - it gets stuck on the creating teams screen.

Wake me when its fixed. Im guessing February-ish.

The last DLC was wasnt unlocking for people and it had been months since 343 reported about it but said they were fixing it. I think it live last month. This is coming from a summer release they and known about this

And there is/was a glitch. not sure how it unlocks but if go to the dashboard immediately when you try to access the multilayer portion while it loads up stuff and check your achievements (dont quote me on this) it will take a bit to load but you will unlock those achievements you just talked about. They should all be for the latest dlc maps

It's a downright joke, that's what it is. Halo 3 is dog shit. It was just a noobed up Halo 2 with gimmicky crap that never worked. It signaled the beginning of the end for Halo's integrity as a hardcore shooter.
