HaloGAF |OT: Anniversary| So fades the great harvest of our betrayal.

How do the ranks even work with Promethean Knights? I can't imagine the Didact would bother with a "truest warriors get to be Battlewagons" mentality. Something tells me the overall process of harvesting and refining soul hard drive space is something to the effect of:

- Find localized group of sapient organics
- Point Composer, shoot, make humans go King of Kings
- Check out your new spiritual hard drive's disk space
- Partition soul space accordingly, with more data being put onto the bulkier, more tactically-sound Battlewagons
- Plant X Battlewagons per platoon per Watcher per Crawler, etc.
- Disable spiritual lockstep and have Knights engage designated target
- Hard drives (Knights) can be reformatted a few times, but due to law of conservation of energy, data eventually becomes too corrupted and the soul's "digitally damned," preventing a respawn
- Digital souls left out in the open in a non-vacuum will succumb to half-lives quickly

And so on, and so forth. Considering the Forerunners had such an intimate knowledge of other dimensions or rather planes of existence, it's also entirely possible that they were doing something fairly unheard of - something akin to cloud storage, but in the physical realm. For example, a floating Forerunner piece might not be levitating but instead be suspended via Constraint Field means in another plane preventing conventional weapons from dismantling it, etc.

Well the flood pushed them to seek that alternative with the Composer but looks like they didnt have the time to fully mastering that incorporeal state of evolution without losing their sanity.

I didnt see the diference between a promethean knight and a human promethean knight in game to be honest, that "twist" was meh for me.

I'm looking forward to going back to Xbox where I actually have a sense of what I'm doing. Being wrecked on Counter Strike is not fun at all. I might have to invest in Battlefield or something just so I have a chance of getting kills. Rough start to FPS on PC for me I guess.

Been thinking about getting a new TV (55/65") for awhile and with MCC/Destiny coming out I can finally justify it...
kinda
. Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm looking for something with decently low input lag, if possible.

It is a problem?
Not necessarily, but it seems like there's a decent chunk of people in this thread who don't care about heavy lore discussion. I think it makes sense to have occasional, light discussion of lore here, and leave the meatier fantasizing / speculation in the lore thread.

This comparison isn't exactly apt, but it reminds me of how half the time I enter the Pokemon OT they're talking about the anime. I just don't care, and like with Halo, I'd like to keep (most) EU discussion in a separate thread.

I hope there is 360 controller support on the Xbox One by the time the MCC comes out :S I wasn't feeling H2V with the XB1 controller.
There won't be.

Everytime I use a 360 controller now though, I'm kinda shocked at how much better the X1 one is though, and I was kind of wary of it when I first got the system. The sticks and triggers are a big improvement.

I wasn't impressed with the launch controller sticks, they have a weird click in them when circling. I did purchase a second newer off the shelf controller and it is flawless. Going back to a 360 controller and Halo 4 makes me wish I was able to use my X1 controller on the 360.

Going from the Dualshock 4 to the 360 controller is really hard, too. The sticks are so much worse (but the bumpers are so much better). I'm getting my Xbox One tonight or tomorrow, so I can have an opinion on that soon, too. :)

What games are you getting? DR3 is the only one I have at the moment haha.

I bought BF4 from a GAFer, and it'll probably arrive by the end of the week. And I'm gonna try to hunt down a cheap copy of Titanfall this week, too. Other than those two, I'll probably just get Guacamelee and Spartan Assault via Games for Gold and call that good until the Destiny Beta hits and Destiny itself releases.

Huh, you might haven't gotten a faulty controller. I got it day one and don't have that with my sticks.

Yeah, in hindsight the 360 sticks have pretty massive dead zones. Really feels like your fighting against the sticks compared to X1 (and PS4 controller as well).

Serious? I don't understand. If you don't want to talk about Halo, why can't you back out of this thread and find another community thread not called HaloGAF to talk about whatever it is that you want to talk about? Otherwise why even bother posting that? Other than as a passive way of telling a bunch of people whose posts you demonstrably don't even have the interest to read to essentially shut up or fuck off, I mean. If you don't care about the discussion, and the posts in question aren't ridiculously obviously offensive to someone, ignore them and don't post, or just post about something else. Pretty simple really. It doesn't make sense to tell people to go to a different, specialised, gaming-side thread, with a different purpose and audience, to talk about Halo discussion that is already going on here. Shall we further subdivide the community out into threads based on topics of discussion? Go to the multiplayer thread if you want to talk about multiplayer. Go to the Master Chief Collection Thread if you want to talk about that. Go to the speedrunning thread if you want to talk about that. Go to the [insert topic] thread, etc. In the HaloGAF Community OT, here you can only talk about... What exactly? Bananas. We can discuss bananas in all their very slightly radioactive glory. No THAT'S bananas - members can talk about whatever we damn well please in the HaloGAF community thread: boobs, cocks, résumés, gravity gauntlets, football, dong blaining, whatever, especially if it actually so happens to be about Halo - as redpill as STORY discussion can get sometimes. Whether you want to talk about Hamish Beamish, or Hamish Sinclair, it doesn't matter. Why? Because it is a community. And a community where some members hate on each other for the same reason that brings them all together is so bananas I've never heard. I don't want to rude about it since that's about the same level of uncool, but you should all lighten up and not police the thread for no reason.

tl;dr: Don't like a post? Ignore it! If a discussion you aren't interested in goes on for pages or even entire threads for months or years on end? Ignore that too! :)

Well, to be honest I felt awkward when others start talking about weapons balance and I dont have nothing to contribute then in a blue moon someone talks about lore and I love lore discussion but others cant talk about that but this is halogaf kinda ironic isnt?

Couldn't have said it better myself dude.

Let the community be a community. Doesn't need to be split up into a bunch of threads. It's great to see all kinds of discussion without having to hop around, whether it's about how the CE Pistol will save Halo or if Cortana has a nipple fetish. It's why I love HaloGaf.

The community is as varied as the game it's built around.

Looks badass dude.
When do we get to hear more about it?

...

I feel like I'm missing something.
If I'm interpreting that right, I think it's a compliment.
