The track list is one of the reasons I would suggest FT over PDX right now. PDX is a ton of fun, but the track list is really lacking. The medleys are neat additions, but nothing burns harder than playing only a short clip of Freely Tomorrow or Ageage Again.

Also, I enjoy the unlocking of new modulus, but I've played 7 tracks as Rin and keep getting the same module. That's going to make my life a small hell.

I would love to get Future Tone but uhh, I have no idea how to get it on a USA PS4 Account haha

You don't. You can only get it with a Japanese or Asian region PSN account. It's playable on any account once you download it though, as long as you keep the other account on your system and set your PS4 as primary on it.

This. This is my issue. PDX has an okay track list with a few stand out songs like Streaming Heart of Deep Sea Girl, but most of the time you get to the medley and realize those songs are a lot more fun and are simply better songs than most of what we got, leading you to want to throw in PDF/PDF2nd/buy FT.

This looks fun unlike my struggle with f2nd that decided to add crazy note types that made hard look like insane at times.

Hearing all the talk about future tone.... Would love all the songs.... Without the insanity button mashing

Debating now, vita where I have all my diva games or ps4

So to unlock the last song do we just get a bunch of crystals or do we have to do all the event requests?

You need to get an extra crystal for each of the clouds, which means you pretty much have to replay Quest Mode (but you can choose higher difficulties). Events aren't required though

Oh well that's easy enough. Thanks! I didn't like the events that much, unless they give a special module they seem kind of pointless.

If I ever meet you in real life, i'll buy you a beer man, thanks for helping me out!

Happy to help.

Don't get me wrong - I think everyone should buy PDX because it's still fun and offers us a way to show SEGA that we are willing to pay for these games to come stateside. But content wise, FT slays.

Couple of questions:

Are the two DLC songs included with the PS4 version, or do we have to buy them? I checked the Asian PSN store and they were free there :/

Also, can we take screenshots with the SHARE button? For some reason, this was disabled on the demo.

Thanks :)

I'm not sure about the DLC but I have been taking screenshots.

They're only free for Asian regions because the PS4 version is launching five months after the Vita version launched over there. They're not free for NA/EU.

Finally awake after my first decent night's sleep in a week. Time to tackle some more Extreme songs again. I wasn't too sure about the new system, but now, I'm not constantly worrying about getting Perfect, and it makes gameplay more fun, somehow.

It's really bugging me how little your actual grade matters in story mode. It's either a pass or nothing, which on the face of it is fine for the purposes of progression, but the fact that it doesn't seem to save what you actually got is really irritating. I've gotten perfects and almost-perfects on quite a few stages now, only to find that the score doesn't transfer over to free play mode. Getting extra diva room guff isn't really much of an incentive to play well after getting a voltage clear :/

It is due to this and other reasons that I was eager to dump the story mode as soon as possible.

Any issues with this game and latency on modern TVs (kind of like how you have to tune Rock Band or Guitar Hero to get things right there)? I've only ever played this series on Vita (oh and the 3DS version as well) and was thinking it would be nice to play this one on a big screen and have it run smoother than the Vita version, but worried about accuracy.

You can adjust the game to the delay of your monitor or tv just fine with the ingame settings.

Finally sitting down to try the PS4 NA version and want to continue my progress from the JP Vita version. The cross-save load keeps returning "A communication error occurred." welp

Finally unlocked Meiko's Amazing Dolce costume. I'm guessing to get Rin's and Len's, I have to switch things around so they're each the lead singer till they unlock?

First time miku player got a chance to try it tonight

Game is fun but having my triangle button stick screwed with me on the nornal difficulty songs

Honestly the hardest part so far (besides figuring out how to do start notes and w notes thanks tutorial) is three fold. One, moving my hand back to the dpad after the star notes since analogue stick doesn't count for those. Two, all the flashy shit on the screen is horribly distracting at times. Every time a technical chance pops up I almost always instantly fail and lose my full combo because I'm confused at what appeared above me. Third and finally, whenever I get a module and notes appear durinf the costume change I have a hard time seeing certain notes on the bright background which reks me.

you just gotta tune the background out, you want to appreciate the graphics but you gotta focus on the music!

Playing Raspberry * Monster is probably the most headache inducing experience I've ever had in a Diva game. :| That background is just fuuuuuucked...Reminds me of a Kyary Pamyu Pamyu video.

E: Just got Rin's Module Dropper Level 3 outfit. Super excited because she's basically the only Vocaloid I bother using. And upon my first use of it, I got Christmas Rin, another Level 3 dropper. Excellent!

E2: Making sure I don't buy DLC that just speeds up the game...There's 2 songs, the Snow Miku pack, Snow Miku 2016, Mikudayo, and the extra character module super pack. The rest of the stuff is just faster unlocking of content, right? Oh and what is the Mikudayo?

Tried the cross save load again a few hours later and it worked just fine. Not sure if I ran into a first run glitch or if the servers were having issues when I tried before.

Definitely noticing the smaller targets; they were normal sized when I played the Vita version on PSTV, so I'm a bit confused by the change. I wish X would implement the drop shadow FT has, but otherwise I'm not really having any problems with it, even though I'm playing on a 21" monitor at the moment.

I wouldn't mind the concert style as much if the stages were as intricately made as they are in Idolmaster Platinum Stars, that game looks incredible from a visual stand point. I can post a video of it if people ask.

I'm not going to say I don't miss the wild creativity of the music video format. Still, these concert stages turned out to be more detailed and dynamic than, say, most of the arcade versions of the Project Mirai songs. (Tricolore Airline is one of my favorites, and that's basically the same idea as any song from Project Diva X.)

And a "concert" video like Satisfaction is easily better than a lot of the Project Diva F music videos. There's plenty of mileage in the concert stage format.

I could YouTube it myself, but I don't know any specific songs to search that may be a highlight or what-have-you. Or in other words, I'd like a link. ^^

I'm of the same mind that losing story videos is lame, simply because I liked them. But X's Concert style is definitely well-done and I haven't felt disappointed since actually playing the game.

After watching the PS video, I have to say I like PDX's stages better. They have a lot of good things going on, detail wise. They also usually feel like contained movies rather than concert scenes, save for Festivals. Just my opinion tho.

I just really like the choreography of Diva X, and the fact that they can much more easily use the same choreography for the games and the concerts now means that what benefits one will benefit the other. I'm hoping for more new songs in the concerts each year now, too.

I fell in love so hard with Solitary Envy in the Mirai 2015 concert, and having a version of that with different camera angles and "depth" in the game gives me a special kind of kick, honestly. The way she hops around at the start, so good! :>

Quick theory for those who can test it sooner than I: do the size of the notes change if output resolution is changed to 720p (as opposed to 1080p)?

Almost finished all the songs last night. I'm really not impressed with the song selection in this game, but that's just my taste. I loved the selection in Mirai DX. I'll definitely keep playing this game and will keep following the DLC, though.

This is my first entrance into the series and have a question after playing Extreme the first time last night.

What's the strategy when you get a cluster of 4+ hitboxes that don't disappear when hit because they'll each have multiple notes flying in? Like is there any kind of logic to where to look (clockwise, etc.) or is each instance a different pattern?

Hope I explained that alright, couldn't find a screenshot of it on google.

I think every instance is different. Usually those take some practice to get used to, it's hard to get the rhythm right the first time. Once you know how many and how fast the notes are they should be no problem.

I just tried this and the notes look the same size to me. :(

One note away from passing the Chance Time in Ai Dee Extreme... Sigh. If the module was a new one and not the Uraomote Lovers one, I'd be a lot more salty.

Also, I can't seem to unlock the Urotander uniform for Miku. I've played a few times using a Lvl 4 Module dropper outfit, with Miku as the lead, but no dice.

Here I thought I wasn't going to see any charts that screwed me over more than in Future Tone.

The rangers song proved me very, very wrong.

The much larger scale is super cool, but that camera is super skittish. I also feel like PDX has better choreography. If they could be combined, though? That'd be top-notch! Think the closest PD has to that is Spica in F2nd, so they could definitely make another concert stage show for a song without it feeling like such a thing has been used too often already.

Fun chart to play once memorized, absolutely stupid design. Completely false difficulty, the only truly difficult parts are the visual tricks they pull.

Cool, thanks.

I found it weird they locked you into Normal during the entire initial quest. So it was super jarring when I immediately switched to Extreme and saw that mechanic for the first time.

I'm absolutely loving the game though and probably will end up going back and buying the other ones.
