Wow....just went 0-3 in the arena. Last two runs were 1-3. What a shitty feeling. Everytime I play I feel like I make the shittiest deck and get the shittiest draws in the world and my opponents have the best. And I like never fight anyone but Mages and Paladins.

Ugh. I guess I just am not good at improvising a deck. I kind of hate arena I think. Really makes me frustrated at the game in a way that it doesn't do to me anywhere else. I love that I can get competitive with this game but still be really chill about it, but arena just winds me up an annoys the shit out of me.

Also I hate flamestrike. So. Fucking. Much.
You have to play around board clears in Arena and other common spells. You are new so you are probably not familiar with its style and drafting.

The meta game is so cyclical it's almost funny at times.

So many people play Grim Patron on Ladder. One of the ways to beat Grim Patron is to basically try to kill them before turn 8 sort of like how you play against Druids turn 9 combo. This results in people playing a bunch of aggro decks. Well guess what beats aggro... that's right, it's even faster and more aggressive aggro which is Face Hunter. So then all these aggro classes just play each other Ladder and rush to kill each other fast. In the middle of it crops up Control Warrior to counter Face Hunter but then people adjust to control Warrior with Druids and Midrange Hunter... which get beat by Face Hunter.

And then some genius was like "if I combined Face Hunter and Midrange Hunter I would win Hearthstone!"And he did because that is in fact what you see on Ladder now.... Hybrid Hunter.

I would mention that Handlock and Freeze Mage has been cropping up on Ladder due to presence of Zoolock but in my experience they can get beat by Hunter. Good Hunter players play around Freeze Mage by just sniping with hero power and letting them not proc Ice Barrier where as against Handlock sometimes you don't draw the heals or taunts to counter aggression and just get pummelled when you have a hand full of Mountain Giants and Jaraxxus (some of which will be Freezing Trapped back in your hand). I had a miserable day playing Handlock today and got bodied by turn 6 most of the time. Need heavy teching against aggro these days (double Chows etc).

I wish I could play Handlock, but I need a bigger card collection.

Read somewhere that you need to open about 500 packs to get to play everything.

I've now started opening packs for every 10 I earn, so I can keep track of where I am.

Paladin is terrible in laddering right now against Warrior + Priest.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
Feel like the meta has shifted from 2/3 2 mana drops to 3/2 drops to counter so many minions that have 3 health like Grim.

Handlock is excellent on paper but in reality you get rushed down and pressured into not using your Lifetap and then you get put into awkward situations where you have discounted Molten Giants but you can't also taunt them up (ie. the teens HP) or heal up as well. If you don't draw your Shadowflames/Hellfire then you definitely get blown up. That turn 1-5 is very brutal for Handlock before you get settled in... you need balls of steel to play that class.

It can definitely punish bad players who don't play around 0 cost giants though. If you are about to take a Handlock below 15 health then you better kill them.

Except Hunters of course because they don't play around anything and still win.

Just doing my 5 win daily today was fucking soul crushing. So much fucking cancer.

I actually lost in 6 turns to a fucking face paladin.

I'm going to take a week or two off from playing the game I think.

I did some solid wins last night as Warrior, and as Priest.

I like how Warrior games tend to hella fast if you get a few good cards at any point in the game. Priest on the other hand can make games quite long--had two games where I ran out of all 30 cards. Jeepers.

What I hate? Having to play 6 hunters in a row, all with varied strategies, and decks. It's either I roflstomp them(bad hunter) or I swear every other card is Legendary and I eat shit.

Ugh.

Whenever I see Priest, I prepare myself mentally that this game will go to fatigue as a user of control/midrange decks.

On casual though, I usually immediately concede as I play aggro decks there.

Some say Priest vs. Priest is a boring matchup.

I don't necessary agree that the Paladin is comfortable making a 1/1 minion in a Warrior matchup.

That just means more attack points for Frothing Berserker.

Domdus's deck looks like a Control Warrior with random dragons teched in. Frothing isn't run in Control Warrior because you typically don't have Warsongs or more whirlwind effects than Death's Bite.

Well played emote after Boom Bot kills the Shield Maiden and then puts the Gorehowl in the museum....

LMAO!

Control Warrior doesn't run Frothing.

How would you know that on ladder though?

I always assume there's one in a Warrior deck.
You can tell by their cards and playstyle what they are running. Slam/Gnomish Inventors/Battle Rage/Corsair etc are used in Grim Patron decks where as Shield Maidens/Shield Slam/Shield Block are generally used in Control Warrior.

Also in these tournaments have an idea of each other's deck so they generally know if someone is playing Grim Patron or Control Warrior by now.

Double pyromancer.

Is that overkill in this matchup?

It's not always obvious, but it's not like Patron Warriors have their enormous Frothing turns for the first turns anyway, so you can probably afford to create 1/1 dudes until you know.

Think I know most of my defeats are charge forward, fight's count me, blade be thirsty, a whirlwind (x2 with a weapon), and the game is over. Frothing gets like insane value.

He has double Equality too so that's the point of the Pyromancer. Plus Pyromancer is great at clearing out the trash aggressive stuff you have to deal with on Ladder.

Not as great in this match up obviously outside of taking up weapon charges or activating Equality.

Are u uwing that arena tier list to draft value cards or are u just randomly drafting them when making a deck? :p I just started playing HS and went 3-3 and 4-3 in arena, but with that tier list I managed to get two 7-3 runs, one 6-3, two 5-3 runs and one 4-3. I think it really helps when u look for the better cards. Maybe also try to stick to classes you're comfortable playing with? It also helps to play around the strength of those Mage and Paladin classes. Against Paladins u want to keep clearing his minions so he can't use his buffs on it. Learned it the hard way when I left a 1/1 on the board and he used some Blessing of Kings on it lol. Against Mages u generally don't want to flood the board at turn 6 with low health minions in case of Flamestrike, but sometimes u just have unlucky runs. :d

I prefer doing arena than constructed, because I only have those basic decks, while everyone around me put a lot of money in their decks. :/ Arena gives a more even playing field imo, because all the cards are generally available to use. Only thing I hate is the GvG pack u get in the end. Hardly any staple cards compared to the classic pack.

Thanks for the tips fellow new player. I'm not using a tier list, I might give it a shot next time. Also can you not get classic packs from areana? I noticed I always get G&G packs too.

You have to play around board clears in Arena and other common spells. You are new so you are probably not familiar with its style and drafting.

Weird thing is I feel like I do well with this stuff in regular play. And I even feel decent about the deck I've made a lot of times going into Arena. But then once I get in, everything goes to shit. My deck synergy. My desicion making. Everything. It's like I don't even think the same way as I normally do when I play.

I've toyed around with the idea of replacing MCT with pyromancer as I removed a muster for battle for an ooze (weapon removal).

I plan on replacing Stormwind Champion with Quartermaster once I have enough dust.

Best match. Control vs Control going down to Fatigue.

This is Hearthstone at its best.

Chat gonna hate because they are scumbag Zoolock/Hunter players!

You are right i was just being cheeky, the amount of decisions that come into play in a match that goes to fatigue is pretty crazy. Sometimes you have to plan turns ahead and take fatigue damage into account.

Also this happened today:

24 damage lethal thanks to emperor.

Edit : First pack had Harrison Jones wooooo!!! Dunno how useful that card will actually be to me, but of course I wanted it. First legendary out of a pack!

Just went 12-1 with this hunter deck! Rewards were 260 gold, 2 packs, and a golden blessed champion card. Everybody always talks about having to play mage or paladin saying that you're at a disadvantage if you don't, but i chose hunter over paladin and had a very fun arena run!

Harrison is a definite keeper. He falls in and out of the meta but he is one of the best situational cards. With the amount of warriors and Hunters running around he can be useful.

Useful card.

I plan on using it in my Paladin deck to replace ooze.

Best against a Warlock into Jaraxxus (usually from Handlock) in most situations.

Awesome. I figured he could be godlike if played in the right situations, so glad to know that's true. He was definitely one of the one's I wanted the most. I'll experiment with him in decks for sure. If I ever can turn the tides of battle even once with "THAT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM" it's money damn well spent.

Rest of the packs! Except for 2 because I'm dumb and forgot to screenshot them.

Not too happy about that first one, but pretty useful stuff overall. Really glad I got Blood Imps, feel like I've been waiting for those forever.

In the non pictured packs, I got another Doomguard and my first Flame Imp which I'm excited about. I guess I'll be replacing one of my Dread Infernals with another Doombringer? Does that sound like a good call to give my Voidwalkers a better chance to summon him?

Shit, I opened a golden Bolvar Fordragon. I'm already like ~300 dust away from making my next legendary from dust, so I'm going to feel compelled to make a bad Paladin deck around him.

How about a high value legendary that switches board states. Take all the opponent's minions, give the opponent my own (including the high value legendary).

Call the card Socialism.

Board congregates in the middle, and game dishes out a minion to a player randomly.

Every player gets the same number of minions present on the board. If odd number, summon a 1/1.
