Seven years for a five hour game is pretty fucking ridiculous though.
This game took 7 years to make and just 5 hours to finish?

This Xbox bias with reviews is bullshit. There are no good examples where a game was dragged down because it was published by XboxSome people would just give it a 7 because it's on Xbox
I know right?! Game Informer, Shacknews, IGN Spain and all those other bloody Xbox fansites ruining what could have been a great 6/10 score for you to to enjoy. How many Xbox fansites have give this a near perfect or perfect score?

I feel so bad for Ninja Theory right now
They only spend four years, though.I kind of partially do... but I don't understand how a game developer can spend seven years working on a game that is apparently no better, bigger or more advanced than the first one, other than the pretty stuff, that is irrelevant to how it plays as a game.
Uhm, thats not very much.Flop

I'd give it a zero just for that. Some people would just give it a 7 because it's on Xbox
I kind of understand it. The Xbox hardware brand is in a really bad place, to the point where it may be irrelevant in a couple years. That will kill traffic to these Xbox centric sites, and jobs will be lost
Flop
And yet, quite incredibly, they revealed the game in 2019 at The Game Awards.
Because gamepass isn't popular on PC, steam is.Again... why is anyone paying for this on Steam when it's on PC GamePass?

I imagine because a good chunk of PC gamers like to "own" their games instead or renting them. This isn't exactly a new revelation.Again... why is anyone paying for this on Steam when it's on PC GamePass?
They revealed that it was only that trailer and nothing else at that pointAnd yet, quite incredibly, they revealed the game in 2019 at The Game Awards.
Flop
As we both know, a reveal of a game does not equal active development.
Not true. If the graphics are amazing and the gameplay/game itself sucks, then 5/10 could even be generous.A fool wrote it. It's clear that if a game bonafide has "the best graphics ever on a video game console" then it deserves more than 5/10.
nothing odd mate, fuck subsI bought it for Xbox, simply because I hate Gamepass. Odd I know, I just hate this massive push for subscription gaming .
No we don't.Yeah but then you have the sites that will under rate it so it evens out.
I kind of understand it. The Xbox hardware brand is in a really bad place, to the point where it may be irrelevant in a couple years. That will kill traffic to these Xbox centric sites, and peoples livelihoods
This is a non-discussion. The point is they spent an ungodly amount of time and resources on what appears to be a five to six hour experience.
To be fair, that's every day he wakes up.You after waking up and seeing these review scores...
100% fair. Plus, this will probably have the highest ratio of Gamepass vs people who actually purchased maybe ever. No way would I spend 50$ for a 7hr game. I'm not even sure if Steam will be a good metric. Gamepass FTW hereIt's 11:00 am in EU, middle of the night in the US.
Give it 24 hours.

XboxEra only gave Hellblade 2 15% more than Redfall. Damning praise.
One hour per year of development lul5 hours? its coming down, jeez, it will be in the minuses before I play it
(currently working but will take a break on 45 mins to play it (very early lunch)

"The sequel is a lesser game than its predecessor. There are fewer combat mechanics in play, removing the melee button and directional attacks and replacing them with nothing."
"The scale of the puzzles are also smaller, as the game's level design has shrunk. The former game had larger areas with vertical structures. This game's level design is mostly a straight line, with a few small puzzle areas to break up the pacing."
Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 review
Visually spectacular but narratively limp, this cinematic sequel fails to find a new path for Senua.www.pcgamer.com
"You're constantly being told that you, as Senua, are accomplishing incredible feats and doing things no one else could have done—the reality is that most of the time you're just holding forward on the stick, or doing puzzles a child could solve, so it all feels deeply unearned. In one sequence where the characters were lost in a strange forest, I was heaped with praise for using my insight to find a way through—when literally all I was doing was following the one clear path in front of me. "
lol
How is this game getting 10/10 then? It seems worse than the Order.https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/video-games/2024/05/21/senuas-saga-hellblade-ii-review/

Would hit 75 or 76 if not for the paid 10's.Slipped to 80 now. My prediction of 79 will come true.

5 out 5 for visuals and 0 out of 5 for gameplay.A fool wrote it. It's clear that if a game bonafide has "the best graphics ever on a video game console" then it deserves more than 5/10.
Games are a marriage of technology and creativity - and if the technology is GOAT then a 5/10 is ridiculous.
