Pretty disappointed catching up on the details here. I'm currently on a 2013 MBP and it is still serving me well, but I think I will look to upgrade in the next year.

XPS and Razer Blade looking much more attractive now. Since cutting loose from Apple Music/iTunes and the iPhone I don't have much reason to stay on MacOS.

Not to mention not a single DJ will ever use that thin strip in their sets when midi controllers with knobs and faders and physical buttons exist.

Absolutely disgusting.

The cheapest MacBook is now the base model Air at £949. I was half tempted to upgrade mine from a 15 inch to the new 13 inch for a bit more portability, but I think I will keep it lol.

Looks like I still hang on to my Mid-2012 rMBP...it's held up well, but I don't know how long it will last me.

I'm in the same boat. I've got a Mid-2012 rMBP and an iMac that are ok for running Premiere and the bulk of my Apps but struggle with Da Vinci Resolve. I was ready to drop money today replacing one or both.

RIP the 11" Air?
Thats my daily driver and it's an awesome piece of kit, my go to computer.

So uh as someone who's been waiting to upgrade his 4 year old computer and has now been priced out of the new line, when do you think retailers start fire-selling the old ones?

This fucking TouchBar and the new keyboard really leave me disappointed.

I really hope they pulled of a David Copperfield, because if the keyboard is anything like the on in the 12" Macbook it's pretty much unacceptable.

Gladly I'm not in a hurry though as I'm very happy with my late 2014. But a workmate with an exhausted first gen Retina 15" Pro is not amused.

... weird position they put themselves into ...

the new models are hella expensive, their product portfolio is far too big, with plenty of overlaps ...

and the macbook air is still the most reasonable package
that new 15" should've been sub $2000, the 13 should've been 1300...

15" Pro with a 1TB SSD is £3239.
That's with a 2GB graphics card. That's daylight robbery.

Want to bump that graphics card to 4GB, that's gonna cost you £3329.
