.

Because they are not aiming at reality and want to adapt a comic book, I will give this film a chance. I hope it will be good.

But "I AM BEOWULF!" was already supposed to be the next "THIS IS SPARTA!" :*(

"I. Am. SPARTACUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUS!" from Spartacus Season 1 was great.

I will watch this movie, but I honestly thought the Rock would be in another Conan move, not Hercules. Weird.

I got cut off at the end of the first page, so:

Having seen the trailer now, and having owned the graphic novel this was originally based on, I find myself immediately wondering if
the CGI fantasy beast segments are "reenactments" of the tales being told about Hercules by others in his party, to build up his legend. Because none of those "Twelve Labors" were in the original story, which is much more down-to-earth.

If that ends up being the case, some people are going to be sorely disappointed.
Has Ratner or anyone else actually said that the fantasy elements are being brought into to this story? Because in the comic I remember they were barely a footnote; impossible deeds that characters talked about to obscure the truth with glorious legend, while the man himself remained silent to their veracity.

How is the graphic novel btw?
I'd have to pull from a longbox to read them again, but I remember it being pretty grim and violent. One of Herc's companions was
a cannibal even, and they were all varying degrees of psycho.

Not sure why, but that trailer did nothing for me. Probably had something to do with the lame ass narration. I do think that The Rock is a good choice for this role though, but that doesn't mean the movie will turn out to be any good.

Doesn't look particularly great, but looks way better than that filth from the other Hercules movie.

I see Hercules vs. three headed wolf thingy, vs. a giant lion, vs. a giant boar, and vs. a multi-headed serpent. Those all seem like mid-boss fodder, I wonder what the final boss is?

I see him fighting a bunch of shit and then making out with a woman before proceeding to fight more CGI shit.

Why would I even watch the movie? I think I got the gist of it.

All this money Hollywood has for movies and you would think we would get good quality historical films. It kills me that this is what we are making, I long for epic battles and good recreations of ancient civilizations.

I don't mind fun popcorn movies that have a sprinkle of history like 300 but the real battle was good enough for a movie in its own right.

This trailer isn't doing it for me but I know it's not finalized yet so I'll wait for trailer 2

Kellan Lutz looks like a demigod if they existed, the downgrade hurts. Oh well, will watch for the gratuitous CGI action.
