Horizon: Zero Dawn confirmed for PC

That's why there's a myth that 60 is so much better. In reality people from the street have hard time noticing.

I think this is a test and no PS5 promo. Streaming is coming, the end of hardware exclusivity is nigh. Sony has to start moving, MS is already on the tracks for the future.

Average gameplay, are you high? The combat alone was fantastic with the variety of options you have to take the dinsoaur enemies down.

It isn't that deep man, combat was decent but not standout or generation defining, a lot of it just came down to use this type of arrow on this enemy and you win.

And I am high, a lot.

Really who cares? PC users and console gamers are different audiences.
It's still a 'console' exclusives. Having Tomb Raider II on my PC didn't make me feel any better as a Saturn owner, I much rather game on the consoles, even now.

Hope this will make people realize that brand loyalty is a one way street. These companies are there to make money and don't care about your loyalty towards them. They care about money. And if they can make more money then that's what they will do. That's why being a fanboy is so ridiculous

All you really need in any Soulsborne game is hit + roll.

I guess that makes Bloodborne average, in your opinion?

I dare you to say yes :p
You know there is a difference, I mean all you do in Super Mario is jumping but It's super fun. Same is Bloodborne. For me Horizon Gameplay was very boring + it felt like best of Ubisoft.

Nope, not letting you back out of the crap you posted that easily.

You said that HZD was was average because all you needed was "roll + bow hit", a completely asinine statement as you basically broke down the entire game into two simple actions that don't in any way represent the actual experience. By that same terrible logic some of the best games of the generation are suddenly average according to you. Selectively applying your reasoning just makes you look like a hypocrite. So your argument is either nonsensical stupidity, hypocritical posturing or you're shitting on some universally loved games.

Or maybe the game is fine and enjoyment is subjective.

The biggest mistake was that the dodge roll had no cooldown and no stamina bar, you could roll for miles and avoid any combat. That spam part is what it made the gameplay bad for me. Enemy too hard? No problem, 50 dodge rolls out of his aggro range, regain health and go back. The game had more issues like boring and emotionless NPC, terrible human opponent KI, but my problem was that boring dodge roll spam. It was just too effective.

History revisionism is always fun to read in those type of topics...

Fanboys...if they didn't exist you would have to invent them...

So basically what you can do in every open world game ever? Getting away waiting for the ia to calm down and return fresh like a rose? Lol...

Play the game on ultra hard and then return here with your easy and boring or "op roll" statement please :ROFLMAO:

Like i said the spamming part broke it for me. Strong abilities need a cooldown. I judge a game by its default difficulty. You love the game? Fine, good for you. For me it's overrated. It was an ok game just like Far Cry Primal was an ok game.

Ponies are actually the worst of the console warriors. So much hate and venom over a plastic box. Xbox and Nintendo fans stay winning while playing exclusives and Gamepass and Ponies go around insulting devs on twitter and smashing offices and giving out death threats like candy because more people can play great games.

I think that pc elitists are the worst in industry. By far.

A shitload of games have a roll without stamina meter and like i said, the flaw your are saying is shared in almost all modern games and open world.

Normal difficulty is for casuals without hands, if you wanna judge the combat in a game at least play on a diffixulty level where you can't win jist by mashing buttons...

So for you bayonetta is mediocre, dmc is mediocre, gow is shit and basically every third person game on normal (aka ultra easy) is mediocre, got it.

All of this game are piss easy on normal and you can beat them with your hands behind your back.

Horizon has a lot of flaws, but boring combat is not one of them if you play at the right difficulty level.

Cant wait to see this game running @ 4k 120fps in another person's PC cause mine is shit and I'm fine with the game on PS4 pro.

The game is a looker, clearly a benchmark title.

Like someone mentioned, the running away thing is an open world issue. I don't see a way around that unless they lock you in an arena for every fight.

I had a different experience: the large enemies (and the DLC enemies) were bastards. The moment I stopped rolling and tried to aim, they'd be on me. This was especially true for those new fire enemies in the DLC areas. I also remember a story mission when they locked me in an arena with an ice bear frost claw thing and fuck that noise: you stop rolling, you die. Had to cheese it with a million traps set via stealth before the fight.

Far Cry Primal was pretty bad. I don't know what your standards are that you'd call HZD "meh", but fun is subjective so you do you.

Nah, the delusional fanboys will always find an excuse, not as far as a quarter a year ago HZD was one of the best games of this generation, something XB1 will never be able to pull out, and a completely new IP as oppose to stagnant Halo/Forza/Gears, but now it's apparently just an mediocre game no one actually ever cared about, it's not even in PS4's top 10, and if the PC guys will somehow enjoy that average game than sure, whatever.

That's the good thing about games, it's totally up to your taste. I hatetd some 90+ games and enjoyed 60-70 games.

Sorry guys. I don't need any videos.
I was gaming on PCs when these guys were not even born yet. 😂
If you think that target framerates are not tested on focus groups in AAA games, you clearly don't know what you're talking about. 😂
Frame time doesn't sell.
Unless it's all over the place - nobody notices.
PCs were always notoriously bad with stable frame rates. That's why there's a myth that 60 is so much better. In reality people from the street have hard time noticing.

You know it always makes me laugh when people say stuff like this.
Years ago I worked at Microcenter before I left for IT in 2015
This was back around the time Asus G-Sync monitor first launched
I found a 120hz Battlefield 4 people I would loop for people on a 60hz monitor and a 120hz monitor to show the differences
Everyone could clearly tell the difference and would ask why the predator looked so smooth, considering I worked on Commission it was a great sales tactic and more PC gamers bought that monitor than I ever expected.
So cut this shit out

Thinking about it, it might be a way to promote ps5 and AMD, if they add raytracing to the game. They could be showing what to expect from ps5 and next-gen rdna cards.
With Sony relationship with AMD and AMD having no game of their own, makes sense to use a Sony game for that, and the Decima engine is probably the most suitable Sony engine for pc porting (ignoring the PhyreEngine).
Or they just want to start making extra money from old games....

I'd imagine it's just to try and market PlayStation exclusives and the new console to PC gamers....

Herman reiterated that games would never release day and date on PC... I imagine they will wait till they make no more money on console and the generation is coming to a close before doing this again.

It definitely will have a PS5 treat. So don't worry.

The DS PC trailer doesn't mention anything else than 60FPS and wide screen support, so that's a really lazy port if you ask me. Waiting for the actual game release to do the final judgement, but if so, then I wouldn't be very optimistic about HZD port as well.

Call of Duty: 60fps
Minecraft: 60fps
Fortnite: 60fps
Fifa: 60fps
Madden: 60fps
Battlefield: 60fps

🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Call of Duty?
You are right. Wrong formulation by me.

I mean that as a whole, the most selling games are 30 fps. If you sum all 30fps games vs 60fps games.
The point is that average gamers don't care as much as we believe they do.
And by average I don't mean to downplay them. Maybe they are playing more games and know more about games than we do, but we are active in forums. And we have the '''oneframemoreisbettervirus''. :p

It's GSync. As I've said: PC frame pacing is so bad that only GSync can save it.

that is a terrible comparison as there are more 30fps AAA games than there are 60fps ones. meaning of course if you add all the sales they will win...

also even if they don't care for that number, subconsciously they will feel the difference and feel that somehow Call of Duty feels a lot better to play than "30fps game X"
there is a reason almost every single game on the top of the list for most successful games is 60fps. everyone feels that they play better and feel smoother even if they have no idea why that is.

This is a losing battle arguing with them on this. They like their "cinematic" framerates lol.

God you're dense.
It was a V I D E O
Meaning that NO-Vsync was engaged, it was largely to show the differences between 60 and 120fps
They could of course, launch a game and see g-sync in action if they wanted

Also, don't forget that VRR is coming to consoles and if you have an X-1 you can use things adjust for framepacing on certain TV's

that is a terrible comparison as there are more 30fps AAA games than there are 60fps ones.

This adds to my point.
If average gamers really cared about 60fps they would not be out there like 90% 30fps games. They don't somehow force people to buy them.
60 fps could be the norm for decades now if it was an actual selling point for the companies which now prefer 30fps.

I think that could change if HZD sells really well on PC though.

Hermen reiterated the strategy about reaching out to PC users to introduce them to PlayStation , but obviously future PlayStation titles won't be day and date with PC, but they're open to bringing more. However, there may be day and date cross-platform (PS5/PC) titles for multiplayer games. IIRC something Shawn Layden mentioned it before

This is like saying you are not a real cinema fan if you enjoy Marvel movies. Let people play the game in normal, is an average difficulty and there is no need to play on harder levels for being a non-casual gamer. Also, if someone is casual, there is nothing wrong with that.

The game mechanichs should be interesting enough without playing on hard.

It sounds like a bad idea, because exclusives are one of the main key selling points of PS hardware. Maybe Horizon was too expensive and need extra revenue to compensate it, or maybe they want to push harder the IP and don't care to release a 3 years and a half old game on PC in order to promote the brand before announcing its sequel and maybe movie or tv series.

Let's hope it's an isolated games and they only do it with a few old games more instead of becoming their new trend.

PlayStation Mobile? Bloodborne on Ngage confirmed!

I don't think exclusives are a key selling point. Top selling games on PS4 aren't exclusives: GTA, RDR, FIFA, Call of Duty, etc. A lot of people barely buy about 10 games per generation. If I look at my friends and mates, most of them don't have any interest at exclusives, they buy the PS4 so they can play the new Fallout, the new Call of Duty, ... Also, some friends love racing games and they play Project Cars or Asetto Corsa. About Drive Club or Gran Turismo? Totally ignored...

When you sell over 100 million consoles, most of the users aren't like the ones here at neogaf or other forums. A lot of consumers just want easy life, turn on the console and play. Doesn't matter if the PC is a better platform.

Excellent news! For me it makes perfect sense for the game and it will be very beneficial for the market. Here in Brazil some users of the playstation are complaining on a specialized website, asking for refunds because it was misleading advertising, total madness... how far do people's sense go?

I really appreciate the people who took the time to dig through old threads and call out the bombastic posters who said this would never happen. People on this forum need to be held accountable for the dumb shit they post.

Sincerely,

The guy who claimed the Xbox Series X was gonna be $799.
