Guys whats wrong with my ropecaster. I am attaching it to a robot but when hitting the ground with it it somehow fail to hit it and all I see is a rope attached to the robot. It really pisses me off as it was working fine before.

Obviously I've seen the stunning screenshots and a few clips, but I've mostly tried to stay away from info on this as I wanted to go in as blind as possible. My God this is the best looking game I've ever played. It is instantly so gorgeous and the narrative draws you in right from the start.

I'd been playing Breath of the Wild since it released and it's a very good game obviously but barely scratching the surface of Horizon and I'm already much more invested in Aloy than I was with the narrative in Breath of the Wild.

You should only have to shoot the bot, Aloy automatically sticks it in the ground. I made the same mistake when I got the ropecaster. There is limited range, though.

Just came across the first Stormbird last night and got my ass kicked a few times before I just left the area and gave up.

Whats the best way to bring this damn thing down?

If you have a Ropecaster, probably at least the Blue Carja one for Medium ropes, you can wait until the bird floats closer to the ground and then just rapid fire the ropes to try and get him pinned.

Then use whatever Freeze ammo you have to Freeze him. After that, try and use Tear or high damage arrows or explosives to destroy his chest Lightning cannon. Getting rid of that is helpful.

After this he will likely break free but see if you can pin him down again. Freeze again, and then just go to town on damaging him with Precision or Hard Point arrows, and use Tearblast arrows to destroy his armor plating. Rinse and repeat.

Oh and wear any Shock damage resistive armor, and pop a Shock Resistive potion.

So...dont do that? Its like complaining that you can shoot certain bosses forever with arrows from a safe location in Souls games. You dont have to do it there and you dont have to do it here either.

This isnt even a defense force type of reply, as Im not enamored with it as most are, but people that break games and then complain about breaking games is always weird to me.

Sometimes the issue is more explicit. I have accidentally stumbled upon the boundaries that enemies roam, at which point they behave oddly, moving back to where they used to be, unsure if they should be attacking you or returning to their position. You can trigger that odd behaviour by accident.

It's not a big issue to fix it in this game, but in the future I think it would make the games seem more polished if AI were consistently threatening. Not to mention, if they intended to add any multiplayer components to the game, then what exists now as an exploit that affects no one but the player themselves, would likely spoil the games difficulty, reward and challenge when played with others.

Also 99% of Souls bosses aren't as exploitable as you describe. You're forced into most arenas and the bosses themselves are pretty relentless in attacking you. If there are any glitches that affect the fight then they need to be deliberately sought out.

Just finished. What a ride! Everything was spectacular except the facial animations, the inventory management(modifications at 100 and resources at 150 or 200 or just larger stacks would have solved that), and camera during combat clipping into grass/tress/rocks obstructing your view. Story was extremely solid and I actually found myself stopping and listening to all the audio logs. Combat was satisfying, to the point of me being over-leveled as fuck since I enjoyed hunting so much early on and trying different weapons.

Can't wait for the sequel. Now to decide on whether I jump into Zelda or Nier: Automata.

Never thought I'd see RPG Maker mentioned in a developers GDC conference slide-show. Kind of interesting that it's considered 'relaxed'. I assume that's mainly in part to there being no built in quest system and thus allows for quests to be built in any number of ways. Whereas something like Titan Quest quest system might require very specific steps.

Thanks for those. Are they not in video format somewhere?

Well, which one?
Or is that the armor from "Ancient Armory"
?
It's the Shadow Carja Kestrel armor. You get the green variant from finishing the main story quest in Sunfall, and you can buy the heavier variants after that. It makes you immune to sonic and Watcher flashbang effects.

Oh yes, just beat my first Stormbird :D It's not that difficult really: I tied him down with the Ropecaster and then froze him by shooting at those canisters in his shoulders (which also deals nice damage with the explosion). Once he's frozen, those precision arrows deal an insane amount of damage

Corrupting is not the same as overriding. They will attack everything.

Yeah that's happened to me as well. Was surprising but it makes sense. You're not overriding them

^^beaten

Yes, corruption doesn't mean that the affected enemies won't attack you. They'll attack everything.

Thanks guys!

Finished the story and the platinum last night, clocking in at 76 hours played. What a thoroughly enjoyable game. I even watched the end credits because the visuals were just so damn pretty! GG has set a new standard (at least for me) for console graphics, environments, combat and overall performance.

When I get out of work I'm going to sell all the machine lenses I have, might get rid of all the hearts, too. Resources for crafting ammo not stacking to 999 absolutely sucks.

SlimySnake

Flashless at the Golden Globes

I have no idea what this means, but I'd like to see what they think of Mass Effect. That's another action RPG that got massive critical claim and got the side quests right. Well, at least until the very of the third game.

They should introduce some of the Guild quests from Skyrim. The thief and mage guilds were my favorite quests in the game. had their own subplot and ending. While I liked the Meridian quest and the Revenge of the Nora quests in Horizon, the other side quests are just way too simple.

I started buying those 1,350 credit Purple boxes but read online here that those boxes aren't really random - they have a set pool of items that rotates and none are really that good.

Only bought 1 of those, not sure if they are set or random. Purple mods are easy to come by. 6 every 2 mins if you know how to farm them.

Haha, I thought 10k was a lot. I am at 45 hours played lol

:p

Markitron

Is currently staging a hunger strike outside Gearbox HQ while trying to hate them to death
So should I have all 3 types of bow equipped at once, haven't played in a few days and just got back playing. Ammo system is a little confusing for the bows.

There is a vantage point that I can't find. It's where the first corrupted zone is - west of devils grief. It has two huge sloping rocks either side and I assumed it was up there, but I tried both and came up empty.

Can someone help?

Edit: wtf it's just right there on the ground - the last place I was looking!

Is that the building climb one? There's a run down building and outside there's a yellow grip point. Traverse that and through the building climbing up. It's pretty high.

Just finished the long quest with Erend...one of the best NPC's in this game,I hope they find a way to have him back in Horizon 2 ;)

Yeah, really liked Erend too and I do hope to see him again in the future. Same goes for Vanasha, Varl, and even Teb as he's officially
Aloy's first true friend.
And yeah, the Sun King also!

Have to say, my impression of Horizon has taken a curve like this.

1) First few hours, wow this game is amazing!! 10/10

2) After completing the main quest after 30 some hours. Fantastic 10/10

3) Another 20 hours doing side quests errands etc. Ya the meta rating is about right. This game is actually around 8.5 - 9.0

I don't get this. You finished the main storyline then did the remaining sidequests afterwards? What exactly did you expect? There's basically no progression with that.

It's there only, if you use your focus in the zone of the vantage point, you should be able to see it. It usually has a supply box right next to it.

Facing the corrupted zone (if you came from the sacred lands), it should be on the right.
