Nixxes seems to be working on more than just PC ports:

  • PlayStation's PC porting studio Nixxes has revealed that Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is the first big PlayStation remaster from the team
  • Coen Frauenfelder, lead engineer at Nixxes Software, previously confirmed that the studio was working on remaster projects and that the studio

Makes sense, not much left to port from the latest Sony games to PC, and it'll get worse in the future, so using Nixxes to remaster most "old" titles, and thanks to this, be able to raise their price again sounds smart not gonna lie.

At least it's better than Nintendo lol

A waste of good talent when they could've remastered other brand Playstation games but I guess fuckface Herman ordered them to work on his baby.
That’s disappointing.
What a waste of time and talent.....
Imagine what they could have done with Bloodborne... a very talented studio who are very good at what they do and they're relegated to Horizon fodder.
Herman is crazy.
Big downgrade from "This is wasting time and resources from Guerrilla, why isn't Nixxes doing it!?"

Autopop platinum? For €10 I'm very tempted to replay this on the pro.

Any mention of save transfer?

Leave Nixxes to do ports/remakes/remasters, its solid income. If they ever do their own game it could also be a disaster and then knowing Sony its game over for the Studio. Some things are best left alone the way they are.

Does this mean Nixies did the higher res assets?
Some, not all. A lot will be taken from Forbidden West but some things will have had to have been remade (models, textures and scenery which are unique to Zero Dawn). Even some of the models they did bring over from FW will need modifying as the game was set a few years earlier so de-aging, maybe some clothing modifications etc)

Who's to say they're not going to do that right after their feet wet experience? Second part about Herman does feel that way at face value, but it is the highest selling new IP and seems they want to strike while the iron is hot.

Not sure what people are expecting. Nixxes is a studio with 25 years of experience. All ports or co-dev assets as per wiki. They've never made a game straight up themselves with a new IP or sequel.

We all speculated and assumed when they were purchased by Sony that they would eventually be used to port their games to the PS5/PC. And here we are. This should surprise no one.

Should've included next gen effects like RT or a nanite equivalent. At least increase the draw distance.

HFW is a last gen game. Using that as a base to remaster a PS5 only game is a mistake. Be a bit more ambitious next time.

This is a fast cash grab project, they are not gonna waste money to change the light system for a measly 10 dollar tax after they already re-recorded all the cutscenes and improved all the assets, water etc.

I think that bringing zero dawn to fw level (if 100% true) is already a steal for 10 euros (they also upgraded the dlc).

They could have done much better but they would have probably sold the thing for 70 dollars like a full bluepoint remake.

Sure, but that means we're going to have to wait another 5 years for another of their remasters/remakes. Maybe more.
