Thanks for all the help, but I'm playing some games I've never gotten around to with full settings and ridiculously smooth framerates.

I'm also using my Elite controller to play these games. I'm in hog heaven.

I got in on the first round of this deal, and without a doubt on of the best purchases I've ever made.

I've also been a lifetime console guy, but I can understand why the PC crowds are enthusiast in regards to framerates, resolution and such. Along with my Gsync monitor... It's just simply incredible.

I still have my trusty PS4, and I will enjoy all it has to offer, especially the exclusives.

But I must say, that any future multiplatform game will be PC first for me. (Unless I intend to co-op with some console only friends)

Now, to get used to KB/Mouse gaming:)

HP customer service is so so bad. I hope that none of you here ever have to deal with them.

It is bad
They simply don't respond to email contact and the link to modify or cancel an existing order is broken.

Dont know if 1800 support is better can't be assed to call yet.

Same here. PC + PS4 is a great combination to have.

Ended up getting the 6770k and 980Ti version of this bundle. I'm pretty excited. Although I noticed that the estimated delivery date is April 25th, which is the start of a week long vacation so I hope it is a conservative estimate and it actually arrives earlier than that. Has anyone had any experience with HP's shipping before?

Outside of that, I still need to try to find a reasonably priced monitor to make use of this rig. Probably won't splurge on a G-sync or 4K one yet, so I guess I'll try looking at 1440p IPS. Seems like the best bet for me, unless someone recommends otherwise.

Not for me. I've played two whole games on it.
I'll be renting UC4 when it's out. Probably a couple of others I'll get too.
My 4770, 16gb ddr3 and 2gb 770 will replace my old ass bedroom computer and this new beast will become my new TV fun.

Your old PC would have done fine with a new graphics card.

I wanted to replace my bedroom PC as all of its components were outdated so this was a perfect time to do it. I realize my 4770 was more than good.

For people that ordered, is your status "Processing"? For people that ordered on in the past, does that status ever change?

Yes, it will eventually change as it gets closer to the shipping date. Also, I received my machine about a week earlier than the original estimated ship date:)

Stayed "Processing" until it shipped, which ended up being about 10 days earlier than the estimated date.

Still loving mine for The Witcher 3 alone. Looks glorious, stays (reasonably) cool and quiet.

What are the odds of a similar deal like this popping up again?

Just keep checking the customization site every day. This is the second time the deal has actually be up. They may have more stock of 980tis in a few weeks. I think it's been about two or three weeks since the first time they had them.

Here's hoping the coupon code doesn't expire by then!

How? No matter what settings I cant get over 10fps in the benchmark...

Running it in 30mhz mode, no AA, high textures instead of very high. It won't run for me at all in 60mhz mode, just crashes to the desktop.

Even then it's started doing this thing where the display driver stops responding and recovers after a while and that causes a crash. I don't know if it's getting too hot or what. I know the fan gets super loud, though.

Was the same as you but ended up selling my Ps4. Only game I miss is bloodborne. It was just gathering dust.

Edit, should add that this is one mega deal. I'm in the UK and we can only dream of such prices :-/

Anyone with some experience in upgrading pcs able to weigh in on how feasible it might be to upgrade the PSU in this build to something more capable? I don't want to overclock or run an SLI or anything, it's mostly for peace of mind.

But the 30% off code expires on April 2nd... ;__;

They come back with a new code as well. It has been a rotating deal for months now.

Edit: Im just telling you cause I was in the same exact situation as you last time. I slept on the 980ti, and when I was tempted to jump on the 970 everyone said it would be back, and it came back.

I only have a 1080p monitor. When the deal inevitably comes back, how long do you think I'll be able to run games at 1080p 60fps at maybe high settings without having to upgrade? I don't plan on going higher than 1080p even if I could.

Sheeeeeet why didn't I see this last week. I just built my BF a PC that cost $200 more and only has a 980 in it :(

Edit: Ah there would have been tax on this deal so I suppose my build cost $100 more instead. Ah well at least he'll get to experience the joy/hardships of custom PC ownership.

I am getting a message about the coupon code is not applicable with items in my cart? Any idea why?

EDIT - It is because my main HP account is a Friends & Family. Going in as a guest and it works.

So $1447 is not bad at all I suppose. Just questioning if this PSU is good enough? Also do not like the fact it is no name motherboard, etc.
Damn. Decisions. Decisions.

DAMN - EDIT 2 - I see the CPU & GPU alone is pretty much going to be a grand if I purchase on my own, so do I just spend the extra $442 (that includes tax) to get everything else and just live with the fact it is not going to be "name brand" components. I am leaning towards hell yes, but cmon, need some people to sway me!!!

Do it! I did this purchase back in early March and plan to just upgrade the other components at a later date. The CPU and GPU are well worth it to just have it come with the RAM and other components. Plus the system handles games like something out of my dreams. :) Super happy with the purchase. Definitely thanking my friend for passing the word to me on this deal.

Yeah you know in my head I was thinking to myself what is stopping me in the future from just removing the CPU and GPU and using it to then build a custom build if I really wanted to if for some reason the rest of it was just not up to par. And the realist in me sees no reason it would not be.

My final question before I purchase for anyone that owns this already...

I see zero mention of an actual Ethernet port on this thing. Only wireless. That cannot be true can it? There has to be an option to hard wire no?

There is an embedded Ethernet port on the motherboard. I did my initial config using it. then moved it down to another room and placed a wireless dongle on it.

Thanks for the confirmation. I also saw a few pages back someone posted a picture of the back of the tower and I saw it was there. Just odd it is nowhere on the specs page of their site so I was slightly worried for a brief second.

Just checking my banking to decide what is best to pay for it. I am pretty sure I am doing it.

Thanks again.

I did it you bastards. I did it. Damn you all.

Honestly I feel dirty doing it. I have built my Gaming PC's for the past 13 years.
I know the motherboard is sub par.
I know the PSU is barely cutting it.
I know the RAM is as low end as it gets.

I just do not care anymore.
For the amount of time this will save me from bargain hunting then building, I am okay with sacrificing those other things I enjoyed about building my own PC.

Estimated ship date is April 20th.
I now have a PC capable of handling the Oculus which I also have preordered.

All is good.

What sealed the deal for me is I still am good friends with my friend who helped me build my first PC. Together for friends and family the two of us are easily responsible for building around 15-20 PC's over the years. If not more.
I texted him earlier and asked him what his experience with HP has been. I have my own personal experience by the way, and it was okay. Not great. Not awful. But okay. Long story short he asked why, I told him why, and all he said was "Do it. The time you save yourself buying and building will be worth it." He knows with the buying part especially I go a bit insane trying to get the best deal, etc. That and I always go over budget. LOL

As silly as it sounds it feels like a weight has been lifted. Ever since I preordered Oculus wanting to finally get my own chance to try out VR, this new PC has been in the back of my mind. I was already contemplating purchasing a pre-built, but the cost savings in doing so was not swaying me. This deal obviously did. It is pretty damn substantial when all is said and done.

My only wish is it was shipping sooner!! I had no idea Quantum Break was going to support cloud saves until about 10 minutes ago!!!!!!

Anyone else having issues with checking out? I can build with a 980ti and get to confirm order fine, but it declined both my CCs, which I have been using fine elsewhere and then it barfed on the paypal order screen too.

Oh well, no discount VR ready upgrade for me!
