Origins was super dark, they toned down the themes with DA2 but Veilguard is a completely 180.

There's a whole questline where you find out Darkspawn reproduce by abducting and raping human women.

In another quest you can sell your elf sister to get gangraped by human nobles.

Even this is dark:

It's the Veilguard developers that didn't get the memo that they were working on a Dark Fantasy IP. Too busy prioritizing other things.

No, cause even when its 20 dollars a year from now, I have better things to spend 20 dollars on than this clown show.

Gameplay and systems with the depth of a God of War 2018 clone and the writing chops of hack millennials trying to cater to Gen Z using MCU quirky dialogue? Hell fucking no. Way better shit to spend 20 bucks on.

I say this as someone who was day one on the three previous entries.

Even if this game sells millions, even if the gaming media declares it the greatest game ever made in the history of human kind, and even if it given too me for free , I will not take it or any game with same force and push for twisted woke agenda especially twisted gender ideology.

I'm just not the target audience for this game in any way, shape or form, so I won't be purchasing it or playing it.

I always knew the writing was going to be complete shit which arguably is the most important of a RPG. So no, no I will not be buying it.
This. I don’t understand how game companies still don’t get this - it’s an RPG, the fucking plot is the most important thing, it can elevate everything else.

Planescape Torment: gameplay is 💩, one of the best RPGs of all time
Vampire the Masquarade Bloodlines: janky thrash, incredible game

You want action you make fucking action game without having me sit 40 hours through conversations.

Normally it would be day one since FPP/TPP RPGs are my favourite genre, but in this both writing and character artstyle seem so offputting that I will wait until it is in gamepass and perhaps try it then, just to see the nice looking environments.

Im buying it on sale on pc just to check those hair physics out. They look bonkers. Hopefully it comes to more games in the future.

No way Jose. Not touching this shit even with a 6 foot pole.

Sims characters
Atrocious voice acting
Atrocious writing
Dull combat, spongey enemies
You shall call me they/them!

Gtfo.
Itemization seems to be fucking abysmal, too.
It looks like something straight out of a mobile game.

What we've seen so far from the game feels like cheap fan fiction created in a toxic-positive bubble of LGBTQ+ activists. It seems like they've now completely lost touch with reality and their actual target audience. On top of that, there's alarming incompetence in game design and graphics that seem aimed at 12-year-olds.

However, I'm not surprised. Since Mass Effect 1 and Dragon Age: Origins, BioWare has been on a steady decline. Today, the company is merely a hollow shell of what it once was. I can't understand why so many people still hold on to illusions about it.

Nahh. I could stomach the trans questline and surgery scars, they're just minor components, but learning that the whole thing is written as an episode of Blue's Clues is a killer for me.

Launch day is upon us for arguably the most divisive AAAA game ever made. The first round of reviews were largely positive, but that hasn't stopped people from voicing their displeasure across the information superhighway.

@Draugoth , our biggest Dragon Age fan on the forum, said there absolutely no way he would play it. A shocking turn of events to be sure.

However, we still have some Dragon Age loyalists who have resisted. Can their positive word of mouth save this game? I do not know. Only time will tell.

So how about you, GAF? Day one or day never...
now come on ffs, the first round of reviews are all from purple hairs who overlooked every negative bit of the game and give it 5* before it had even finished installing, the reviews at IGN, Eurogamer etc.. look at the bloody reviewer lol do they/them/whatever the fuck they are look like they are going to give you a biased review?? anyways fair play to anyone who does enjoy being pandered too in a safe space and you get some enjoyment out of it, me i'm here for the shitshow and memes this wonderfully abhorrent game will produce whilst watching the once great studio of Bioware ffs burns to the ground..

I was about to give it a try just because i love open worlds and action rpgs, not full price of course, one month of ea subscription for 10 euros was the plan, but the more footage i watch the more the game look pretty stricted with barely any exploration and the combat and enemy design look pretty turdish so i'm probably gonna pass...

Actually this would mean the Person is saved. Because in ancient roman colosseum culture the thump was presenting the sword. Putting it down would mean to sheat it so the person would be spared. The thumps up would mean he would be killed. During transportation in modern culture this was somehow falsely transported :messenger_squinting_tongue:

I said this in another thread, but I can't get over the 21st century dialogue and phrases.

That combined with the safe, family friendly, tone means it's a no from me.

If it had a dark tone like the original with actual evil options then I'd be all over it, but this game looks like it goes out of its way to be as inoffensive as possible. Completely the opposite to what I want in a Dragon Age game.

The world's design is apparently something closer to recent God of War games and Final Fantasy XVI, so it's much more linear. These worldspaces are definitely not open

I was waiting for sale, but after what's been shown, the game is not made for me so there's no desire for me to play it. Instead I'm playing through Mechwarrior Clans and enjoying my time.

Legit do not understand how anyone can watch the SkillUp review which is basically a 40 minute essay on how bad this game is and think "you know what, I'm gonna buy this for 70 bucks". It's not even about woke or trans stuff, it's just a super lame game all around.

I really don't get it. There are so many infinitely better games out there you could spend your hard-earned money on.

They are opinions not facts. He did not recommend Atomic Heart or Jedi Survivor which I both loved. Make your own judgment, not from others.

It looks visually good (at least on PC with RT) and looks fun. I don't even begin to expect something like DA:O, which probably helps. They don't make RPGs I like these days anymore anyways, so no point in waiting and being grumpy about it. I came to accept this and salvage the last rubble for fun. It works sometimes.

It will probably soon be on sale both on console and PC when sales aren't strong.
