i hope in the next 2-4 week, the sentiment will be less positive.

You don’t fucking say 😂

You really are the pitch perfect shill for new releases. More than me even in some ways. Impressive.

Man is ‘shilling’ for an opinion that’s in line with the critical consensus?

Ehh it'll probably sell something like 1-2M on PS5.

Standards are higher over there. Not gonna tell people not to enjoy the game, but I don't see any appeal whatsoever. It's a subpar game with good lighting.🤷🏾‍♂️

Which big outlets? Tell me because Xbox Era, MondoXbox, CreativeBloq, Gamer.no are not big or reputable outlets at all. Where’s IGN USA, Game Informer, Edge, etc.

User error?

IGN is there. They gave it a 9
Edge is always delayed, their review comes in the next issue of their magazine. You’ve been here for a while so you should know this.

Gameinformer closed down. We had a thread about it here

Meanwhile there are reviews on Metacritic from Metro, Gamespot, IGN, Gamesradar, PC Gamer and many other ‘traditional’ folks.

Looking at the meta critic reviewers for this game, wtf is up with all these Jabroni outlets propping up the meta score? I haven’t even heard of like half of these outlets before. Very little traditional media has put up a review, it’s fucking wild.

What traditional media that's trustworthy is left to review the game?
Spiderman 2 is actually proof that standards are higher on PS5, because it's production-value shits all over Indiana.

Someone should for fun make a gif of Indy pulling a chain in one of the first tombs, hanging on a ledge and moving to the side, or the flames in that tomb, or a fist fight with that Locus guy.

That's PS3-level. 🤷🏾‍♂️

But like I said, if people are enjoying themselves, I'm not going to say they shouldn't. That's subjective.

Didn't spider man 2 cost 350 million dollars and still looks like a ps4 pro game pretty much? What are you saying here. That you want all games to be 350 million dollar dei turds like spiderman 2 or what?

And it still looks better than Indy. Especially animations and combat.

So what does that say about Indy?

The game should be in high 80s, imo. First person will probably not be as big an issue as people are making it to be. The jumps to third person might affect the score though.

I expect mostly 9/10, with Xbox sites giving a 10 and few edge cases giving 8 or 7 bringing to score down( as is the case with most games). Good game, makes you feel like Indiana Jones.
Seems I was almost correct. Nice!!

When people say they would have liked to see this in third-person, I don't think it is because they are thinking of it as "right choice" or "wrong choice" for the game, it just comes down to preference that people have for games like this. Of-course, since they went with first person view, many of the design choices the developer has made is around that aspect of the game, so chances are, and as with other first person games, it will still make sense within the world they have created as long as they have done a good job with it. If they were working on a third person view, the same would apply so I don't think that needs to be defended.
When you're dealing with a developer that specifically creates first person games I don't think them trying to make a third person game is a good idea. That's why the constant complaining about it is silly given the experience the developer has in this field as opposed to a third person game.

Currently standing at 86mc I think the choice was more than justified, looking forward to next week.

It points towards priority of each developer.

For Spiderman, its smooth animations, perfect lip syncing, polished visuals.

Machine Games focus on other things. (Though admittedly, I don’t know what they have focused on in this game, it being a different title than their previous work)

Spiderman devs spend less time on encounter design, difficulty balancing etc. They would rather game look cool while playing.

Being great games and selling tens of millions isn’t helping the industry?

Do better

You are not showing the ability to step away from this and look at it the way I am intending.

Anyway, watched Karak Karak review. Seems good. Not amazing but decent. Issues with first person which I think we were all apprehensive about a touch. They need to patch in a peak around corner asap.

Deffo worth giving a go on gamepass.

In b4 the Game Awards should of included this posts!

In all seriousness it's good to see this rate higher than xbox games usually do.

I might just get it but want physical so PS5 maybe.

He gave Uncharted 3, the worst of them all, a 10/10.

Also, he keeps talking about Starfield, which is a pretty underwhelming game.
Sorry, you meant to write Uncharted 4. But that’s ok, part 3 is a 10/10 game.

In regards to Greg Miller, him not like Indy influences me in NO way whatsoever.

RT is there, just not PT. Also dlss and framegen are both kinda botched atm.
Good to know, thanks

Explains why there's no review from Skill Up yet, looks like they were selective about who got keys yet again.

Performance looks far better than expected though:

leaving out dkillup and other outlets is insane, xbox selective machine at its finest, no wonder all reviews are so nice to it

Is there any kinda of progression for skills, equipment, character etc.?

Like what do you find during exploration? Only collectibles and stuff to read?

This feels like it’ll be a decent game… but not one I feel the need to rush to play. PoE2 feels the far more interesting release this week. I’ll be diving into that, and maybe get this in a few weeks. I’m sure it’ll need patches anyway, because Bethesda.

Is anyone going to make an OT for this?

Sorry bro, I'm not sure if I have the time and energy to do the OT. :lollipop_pensive: I'll also probably be playing it over the holidays and not day 1 since I'm knee deep into this gacha game I'm playing rn, Wuthering Waves.

Maybe Draugoth Draugoth wants to pick this one up since he also did this review thread.

Yeah, that annoys me as well. But considering how positive every reviewer seems about the game( not the review score but rather their words and what they liked), I think the game could be decent if not great.

I really hope performance is better than it seems( can't watch the video right now), especially in my low end system

Production values trump boring arse missions like riding on bikes, playing as a deaf girl, playing as the Crimson Chin MJ, the most cringe worthy writing known to man, SBI DEI being rammed down your throat and terrible pacing.

Such high standards.

PS fans have become like Marvel fans.
