Production values trump boring arse missions like riding on bikes, playing as a deaf girl, playing as the Crimson Chin MJ, the most cringe worthy writing known to man, SBI DEI being rammed down your throat and terrible pacing.

Such high standards.

PS fans have become like Marvel fans.
For what it's worth, I think Spiderman is boring as well and never had any interest in it.😉

U guys never learn, getting excited about paid off professional journos giving game good scores, many reviewers said game is ok/decent and didnt even give it high score either, imagine what will happen once independed ppl can review the game, in few days ;)
One of the few(ACG aka Karak) that didnt break our trust till now, said game is good enough for renting service, tells u enough to know those 85+meta is crazy inflated and underserved.

Aw man. :messenger_weary:

Yeah, definately expecting this to drop a couple of points to the low 80 range.

Why are Xbox and Bethesda like this?

Because you can look at production-value objectively?
Production value is one element of a game.

A game like Hades or Hollow Knight is timeless and infinitely better than something like Spider-Man 2 despite having minimal production values in comparison.

So I’d argue if production values are the main consideration for game sales on PS then the standards are actually on the floor.

Which game did you like that he was critical of?

Hasn't played the first game, doesnt know shit about Dragons Dogma, etc.

Im not going back to watch the entire shitty ass 'review'.

Barely played the game according to my own comment

Starting the review off with Alan Woke... Jesus christ give me a fucking break.

I hate real woke trash as much as the next guy but this guy takes the cake. What a salty cunt (and he's terrible at games too).

Sir, it is you who appears to be the salty one.

He's not wrong about DD2 by the way.

Yes, but I also already mentioned a couple more things, like animations, combat, fire effects which look like late PS3/early PS4 era. Even cutscene aren't that impressive.
Graphics are decent to good and a lot gets saved by the lighting and art direction.

All that adds to the production-value.

And maybe if they just kept everything 1st person instead of 3rd person for stuff like pulling chains or hanging off ledges, it would already have been an improvement.
Since they seem to be experienced in 1st person, maybe they just made a bad call with those decisions that detracts from what might be a decent game.

Imho

The guy who ripped sell outs and then was the host of EA at E3?

The guy who was trash talking about Fortnite untill got goodies?

The guy who basically said that you need to fote for who he wanted or you won't be a good person?

Yeah... He's full of shit

Nah, he's a horrible reviewer that gets views because of the dumb woke bullshit.

Absolutely biased, won't try new things, stuck in his ways.

I used to watch him a lot, but he just kept getting worse and worse and his opinions more extreme.

Fuck that salty cunt.

He;s probably wrong about DD2, won't bother watching the review again. But having gripes about stuff that was in DD1 is so fucking dumb.

Nice try, but at 65 reviews, that’s already a significant spread. Most reviewers are very positive about the game.

I guess ‘paid off reviewers’ is the only path to take when the usual ‘DEI’ and ‘woke’ schtick didn’t take.

Fuck that salty cunt.

He became popular long before culture wars became prevalent.

In fact, the reason he became popular was because of the fact that he refuses to be some glorified for-hire extension for the major publishers marketing teams, and won't hesitate to say things as he sees them. The complete opposite of being "biased".

He's highly critical of microtransactions/P2W elements in games and will highlight all of those things in his reviews (unlike the mainstream reviewers who don't even as much as mention them) and he's very much an old school keyboard and mouse PC gamer who prefers the type of game design that we typically saw in the late 90's and early 2000's.

Like I said, he's not wrong about Dragons Dogma 2, unfortunately for me it took 40 hours before it slapped me across the face.

I'm watching the opening, the first 15 minutes is literally "press W to move forward" and "Press A to push thing", lolz.

It seems like the type of game everybody will try, put it down and never come back to, never mind finish. It sounds like Machine Games went slightly overboard with the content.

I think Indy is like Bond and past his prime. I think the difference is Bond still has the oldguard around to justify his existence. But Indy left everybody behind two bad movies ago.

To be fair, Alan Wake 2 is indeed a boring walking simulator.

Once upon a time I heard something about "walkie talkies with trees", but I can't quite remember what was said exactly.

thats because the intro is a real time reproduction of the opening of raiders of the lost ark.

Played a bit this morning. To have the tutorial level be one of the iconic set-pieces from the movies was a stroke of genius. You don't get to do much in there but it gets you in the mood perfectly. I was a bit sceptical about the voice from the trailers and it's not like he always nails it perfectly but one thing happened: I truly forgot it wasn't Ford during the whole College level. And thank the stars Marcus is not following me anymore to give me hints about the puzzles. Need to play more to have an opinion, but so far I'm just happy to experience this (A huge fan of the first three movies that I rewatch once in a few years)

Edit: I'm also so glad it is in first perspective. It's just does wonders for immersion.

It looks like the devs have at least poured some passion for the franchise into the game from what I can tell, which is a big plus in my book.

It’ll be interesting to get some GAF views on the game itself in the coming days.

EDIT: Though try and keep the spoilers to a minimum for us PS folk who need to wait until next Spring.

Whats wrong with waiting few more days to see independend reviewers give their opinion? Surely it should be ok to at least check it out, insteady of relying on ppl who are biased by default.
Game is single player so even if u play it in a year u will only benefit- it will be more polished/bug free and likely cheaper, no need to rush/preorder at all ;)

Alessandra Mastronardi's turn as Indy's wily reporter companion Gina, for example, is an instant favourite, and an infinitely better hang than the wave of bland nobodies BJ Blazkowicz was forced to hang out with across multiple Wolfenstein games.

Wait, what?

The New Order had amazing characters. Max Haus is a fucken legend for a start.

Well i said it'd score an 86 in my prediction post and i was right lol. I might try this game when it comes to the ps5 but i'm still iffy on what i'm hearing about combat and all the backtracking you have to do. Game looks great graphically and cinematic wise though no doubt that.
