Ah shit. Well i upgraded to a 3070 recently so i'm fine. I'd rather be able to turn off RT completely and up the res though to be honest.

Such a ballsy move to lock out literally millions of PC gamers who dont have a RTX card.
I can sense Steam review bombing incoming, and they will probably patch in the option to turn it off.

Seems like a needless requirement to me, tbh. I counted roughly about 15% non-RT capable GPUs in the Steam hardware survey, but not sure if this is the type of game folks with rigs like that will be interested in. I kinda doubt it will reach review bombing level, but who knows these days.

Well i mean there are still good cards that dont do RT, like the 1080, or my former 1080ti. They could run this game at a breeze if you could turn off RT. Wolfenstein 2 is a high refresh experience on those cards (funnily enough techniclally both cards can do RT, just software RT).
Lots of other solid cards like the 980, 1060 and 1070, 1660, eevn the 1650 which still has millions of users. And then there is the AMD variants of those cards. Also 15% is literally around 10mil PC gamers.

I think there are still enough gamers on those cards that would of expected to be able to play this game.
The game might not get full review bombed, but 'mixed' reviews could very well be a thing after a few days imo.

From the trailers it looks like they did the thing I always wished a game did: make every combat encounter with a person matter. Drawn out fights. The problem is for a game like this, it could starve it of content. I don't know how to flesh that concept out over the length of a full priced game. I'm betting the reviews are "what gameplay that is there is good, there's just not enough of it. No one wants to watch a 4 hour CGI Indy movie done by amateur screenwriters and video game voice actors."

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
No shit? I thought I'd have to wait three days. Guess I know what I'm doing tonight

RT cards came out in 2018. AMD RT cards came out in 2020. If people dont have RT cards anymore on PC they dont deserve to play these next gen video games.

They can play Balataro.

pretty sure that’s only if you pay the $35 upgrade, I’m not seeing anything about even GPU subs getting it tonight without paying extra

paying $35 on top of the Game Pass sub doesn’t make it ‘included’ man

Dont you have to buy something even with GPU for early access?

Yes, you need the premium edition DLC which gives you early access.

Wait, if i get regular old gamepass on PC today, i can play this at 7PM EST???

No you need the upgrade DLC.

I think my post was not that clear lol, let me edit that.

Is that confirmed? Full RT in some games may just refer to all supported RT features being on, not necessarily that it does Path Tracing. Although the system requirements suggest it might be.

Apparently, full ray tracing and path tracing are the same thing. I didn't know that until I read it in the Indiana Jones system requirements thread.

Per Bethesda...

"Full ray tracing*, also known as path tracing, accurately simulates light throughout an entire scene. It is used by visual effects artists to create film and TV graphics that are indistinguishable from reality."

Yep. They specifically said "Full RT also known as Path Tracing" in their blog.

It looks rough around the edges and third person would have received better.

As a huge Indy fan I am really rooting for this game and play it day 1, but realistically can’t imagine it will score better than low 80s or high 70s.

Or you could just have the option to turn on or off RT Slimey, like pretty much every other recent game with RT.

I bet within 2 months there is a patch to turn off RT.

So with the Day 1 patch bringing in 'full RT' reviewers aren't actually reviewing the final game? Can't decide if this was the whole point of putting it in Day 1 or not.
