There are leaked 3 hours from SX, click at your own risk.
Skimmed around a bit. The opening scene had me grinning from nostalgia. Like most, I loved the sound effects from Indy punching, whipping and shooting his revolver so hearing it replicated in game is great (only caught the punching from my skimming but gonna assume they do it all). Looks good visually just not "need best PC" good but in fairness the guy seems to be playing on XBox so still waiting on what it looks like maxed out.

It's very tempting just from the nostalgia alone. I grew up watching Indiana Jones (and Back to the Future) all the time.

Fun fact, that Indiana Jones scene was completely ad-libbed on the spot. The cast and crew of the movie got bad food poisoning in Morroco the night before. Harrison Ford feeling sick asked Spielberg if he could just shoot him instead. It was originally supposed to be a long drawn out fight scene. Funniest scene in the series

Probably my bit of favorite movie tria

Never heard that story before. Honest.

Come on this is fuckin badass.

From what i've seen from the first 10 minutes, the presentation is top notch. If someone like the movies, im sure they will love this game

It was just Ford with food poisoning. The rest of the cast and crew were fine because they didn’t eat the local food. I heard Ford tell the story myself at a 30th anniversary screening of Raiders in 2011.

Hoping for 80-85, but expecting 75-80.

Also somehting about the graphics look off to me, especially with the ridiculous PC requirements. Having said that, i think their Wolfenstein games never looked great in Youtube vids, but looked way better actually playing, especially Wolfenstein 2 which still looks damn good even today maxed out on PC.

Atleast the cpu requirements seem decent with a 3600 able to hit 60fps.

Just hope for a good Indy game that brings the atmosphere of the orig trilogy (and hopefully not Kingdom Skull, or the recent abomination). I'll be playing on Gamepass but will def buy the game on Steam at some point if it ends up good.

Was this before or after you gave your wife some afternoon delight
After. No sex last night though. She fell asleep early on the couch and I was playing Stalker 2. We were supposed to start wrapping X-mas gifts, but that didn’t happen. We tend to put it off until the week before and do a mad rush. Because we are crazy.

so the embargo lifts at the exact same time early access starts? didn’t Starfield even have more lead time between reviews going live and early access?

fake edit: yep I checked, Starfield’s reviews went live at 12pm and early access started at 8pm, so there was 8 hours of lead time vs. the exact same time for Indiana Jones

The previews looked like a VR game they switched to flat at the 11th hour.

That vertical slice was the best parts they could extract from the alpha, so I'd hate to see what the full game looks like with one more month of "development".

I heard that too.... but I have a hard time believing that was really how it panned out

It's never good when a review embargo is only a day before release day.
not even a day before, the review embargo lifts the exact same hour that early access goes live (both are 7pm EST)

Bloodborne, doom 2016, etc
there are exceptions and hopefully Indy proves to be one but it’s typically not a good sign for an embargo to lift the same time the game goes live

this isn’t a big multiplayer game (which are the usual exceptions to that), I’m a big Indy fan so I hope I’m wrong but I’m not overly optimistic

the Uncharted games + Tomb Raider since the revival always made me wish for an Indy game in the same vein

If this does turn out to be an old fashioned muscular take on Indy, with a charming sidekick to boot, will all the tiresome naysayers and hate engagement farmers on YouTube just fuck off for once?

No. Lots of people find complaining about whether a game supposedly supports their own political and social beliefs more fun than actually letting themselves enjoy games.

Yeah looks great and given what the developer has achieved in the past the first-,person viewpoint was the right choice.
When people say they would have liked to see this in third-person, I don't think it is because they are thinking of it as "right choice" or "wrong choice" for the game, it just comes down to preference that people have for games like this. Of-course, since they went with first person view, many of the design choices the developer has made is around that aspect of the game, so chances are, and as with other first person games, it will still make sense within the world they have created as long as they have done a good job with it. If they were working on a third person view, the same would apply so I don't think that needs to be defended. In other words, if some one says they prefer third person, that is all they are saying.

I remember watching "young Indiana Jones" TV show in the mid 90s.

Kids nowadays don't understand how big this franchise was.

I'm guessing mid 80's (which will be 10+ more than it should get, but western media outlets will big it up)

Harrison Ford could very well have been drunk and hungover. I don't think it makes any less funny, tho
I’ve heard the story from him directly. He told it at a 2011 screening of Raiders in LA. The rest of the crew told him to not eat the local food, but he wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to try local cuisine while traveling to a new country. So he got super sick from it but those who ate the food the production brought with them didn’t.

Are you implying all of them are well received? I remember pretty clearly New Order and Old Blood were pretty well recieved, but New Colossus and Youngblood were both fucking terrible.

New Colossus 87
New order 79
Old blood 76
YoungBlood 69

I don't care for bethesda's GAAS chasing online microtransactions youngblood as reference to what that team can do.

Their old wolfenstein were just mid to high 70's. If Indiana Jones score that, we're all ecstatic ?

Mid to high 70s is a good score despite the internet's obsession with everything under 8 being considered shit

If Indi is as good as New Order, I will be ecstatic.

I don’t do scores. New Order / New Colossus are amazing.

New Order yes. That DLC and New Colossus, hell naw

I didn't mention New Colossus since that game was ass (although the gunplay was still solid and for the time the game was a looker, it's just everything else that bogs it down), but The Old Blood is absolutely just as good as TNO.

We live in the age of hyperbole.

I’ve gone out of my way the last two weeks to not post in that manner. Heisenberg007 Heisenberg007 mentioned it in a Stalker 2 thread, and I said I would post better. And I do believe I have been. I don’t do the 😂 to troll fanboys anymore either.
