It's already late October and Nintendo still hasn't given any hints about the reveal of the Switch's successor.

Late October Surprise

the wait consumes me.

I don't really expect much beyond a beefier Switch with some minor QoL upgrades, so anything other than release date doesn't really interest me.

At this point I kind of expect them to not talk about it this year. Probably don't want to risk reducing Switch sales over the holidays as people hold off for the successor.

They can announce it early next year if it's coming in spring or later on if it's not until Fall 2025.

If it's not coming out until next year then why reveal it now. Something like reveal in Dec-Jan makes sense and then launch it in Spring/Summer.

I'm just going to start posting that it's coming tomorrow each day, so that when it does I can proclaim myself and insider and get twitter clout.

Game awards tease, march reveal or early next year reveal.

Similar to the switch.

Huh? The Switch was revealed in October, got a January showcase, and was released in March.

Late October? It's the 6th.

Seriously. I don't think the 6th even qualifies as mid October. We're still in early October for like four more days. The catastrophizing has gotten so severe that it's fucking with how some of us comprehend even time itself.

yeah that's what i mean as in a similar format, where the end of this year we'll hear something formal, start of next year before the end of fiscal year we'll get the big blowout with all the unveils with features and games etc... then it will release shortly after.

only i think this time it'll be at game awards, i feel the switch 2 isn't going to be that drastically different so there won't be as big of a launch campaign for it as the switch.

remember back then they had to make us all understand what on earth that thing was, it had a dock, was portable, controllers came off, had IR etc.

this time it won't be so complex

Nintendo will milk the switch for 6 more years. You don't release a new one until you have resold every old game they have ever made. Then you start again next generation.

OG Switch was revealed on Oct 20th..
A few differences this time around. The Wii U was a lame duck console, so they weren't worried about holiday sales, etc. The Switch was also released in March vs April/May (most likely) for Switch 2. Big N also said they'll reveal something this FY, not CY so that gives them more time to make the announcement.

I wish Nintendo would make one a tease a day without revealing anything new really, just to drive their fanbase mad, lol.

for me it's late October (tomorrow is already the seventh of the month) and whoever is with me follow me

I think anybody expecting a Switch 2 reveal this year, is going to be very disappointed.

And OP. the end of October?, you sound crazy. ;)

The main difference this time is that everybody knows what the Switch is. The reveal trailer last time was basically "look at how this novel thing works".

That isn't really needed this time around. Nintendo also doesn't really like to talk about specs either. So I am kinda curious how they reveal or talk about this if it is basically just a more powerful Switch. Maybe it doesn't even get announced until shortly before launch (that would kinda suck though)
