Killzone Shadow Fall - Ultra High Bitrate MP Footage

Is there a 60 fps re-encoded version that works on the PS3 yet?

PS3 only supports up to AVC Level 4.1, which gives us:
max res @ max fps

  • 1,280×720@68.3
  • 1,920×1,080@30.1
  • 2,048×1,024@30.0

Apparently people have been getting it to work by remuxing, but even playing the file locally on my PS3 I get framedrops/sync issues.

I can re-encode it to 720/60 if you want.

Dear Sony,

The FOV is way too low. I wouldn't be able to play this without getting a headache. That's unfortunate (for me lol). Looks decent otherwise.

I see! Hmmm... Decisions decisions. What if I play it directly on my home theater via USB? My bluray player seems to be ok with 1080p60 mp4 videos. Will give that a shot as soon as I get back home. Thanks! :)

J...jesus christ at some of this footage. Ho...damn this generation is going to be sweet

Amir0x is stuttering and at a loss for words. Ladies and gentlemen, GG has achieved the impossible.

I think what's going to be really fun is when, towards the end of the PS4 life cycle, we look back at Killzone: Shadowfall and laugh at how we thought it was so amazing looking.

I remember being blown away by Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, during PS3's first year, and now I look at it and say, "Yeah, it's a good looking game, but holy shit, is Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us in a league of it's own. Makes Drake's Fortune look like a PS2 game!
dat hyperbole!
"

I'm very, very impressed with Shadowfall, and as a Killzone fan, I really can't wait to boot this thing up on my PS4. Even though I'm getting about 4 or so games launch day, this one will be the first one that pops the cherry on my system (unless my wife plays something first, since she's going to be home when it arrives, she'll probably hook it up, update the firmware, and download whatever PS+ games are available. She probably won't play Killzone, but she might play LEGO Marvel while she waits for me to get home).

Framerate only seems to be 60FPS when he's in the cave at the beginning. Or is it just my eyes.

Looks ridiculous though.

It definitely drops significantly in a few places, which is disappointing because there isn't much going on.

I am sick of PC gamers waltzing into threads and shitting on Xbox One and PS4 games. Sony and Microsoft both chose affordability over power. Seriously, get the fuck over it.

Dude, less than like 1 out of 100 posts is doing this.

I have a gaming level PC. Even by those standards, this is an impressive looking game. No need to even segment the bases.

Yeah, I also have a badass gaming PC, and it's great, but I never got the constant superiority complex I see from many PC gamers here, and elsewhere.

I'm a primary console gamer, as that's what I grew up with, but I finally built me a gaming rig last year, and it's been really great as well. I have a nice Steam library forming a significant backlog, but I'm just as excited, and blown away by what I'm seeing on the PS4 so far, and in the glimpses of what we've seen in the future.

I mean, I remember when console games pretty much never got PC games, because they were too weak to even attempt to port them over, and when a few were ported, it was disastrous. The Xbox 360 and the PS3 finally brought us some rather important PC franchises (ie, Diablo, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Crysis, etc), and it's been great to see consoles grow like they have, to the point where they can hold their own and get quality PC ports, even if, ultimately, PC gaming still has a major edge, tech wise.

I remember being so bummed that the PS2 wasn't getting Black and White 2, because it just couldn't come close to running it. Lol.

I mostly built my gaming PC so I could play stuff that'd never show up on consoles, but now, so many games are, and I'm just more comfortable playing on a console. Some games, however, I'll still get on PC.

Thanks for the direct link a couple pages back
Pulled down in 30 secs - god I love university internet :)

Wow! so ready for next-gen

Guerrilla's one of the most talented developers in the world. Plain and simple.

For launch, this is dat first-person shooter. Fuck the rest.

Don't lump all PC gamers as fanboys. I have a gaming PC and love a pretty looking game for sure but I'll take gameplay any day. TLoU was definitely my fav game this gen followed by UC2 and Heavy Rain.

First off, game looks gorgeous. Looks likes it plays quite well too. Secondly, and more concerning, that footage made me somewhat nauseous. Would that have to do with the FOV? I've never known myself to be affected by this, so I'm hoping I'll be fine when playing this on the big screen. Crosses fingers!

Wait, are people complaining about the game's graphics? Lol.

1080p, 60fps, and it looks fucking gorgeous. Shadowfall looks exceptional.

Which is what makes it weird. The gun is moving but the reticule isn't. It is really strange.

KZ3 had barely any recoil. It killed any fun to be had with the gunplay. This looks the same. We'll see how the absence of autoaim (which KZ3 had alot of) affects the balance.
