God damn man this boy....

he had dude blown up with a mortar round. an honest to god, whistling death from up above, mortar round. He shot up some people we probably watched on youtube in another GAF thread. And made their families watch. That shit...good lord.

Oh shit..it was her. Damn, I feel bad. She was actually featured in an earlier thread. That music video about the woman who keeps such an efficient factory room.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=481920

That's one of the best GAF threads I've ever read. It's like a perfectly cut diamond.

as far as I know, as soon as he showed too much interest in western philosophies, he was pulled out of the swiss school. and I never heard anything about bulllying.

I'll say it again: Kim Jong-Un used to visit a private school in Switzerland when he was a child and was bullied there. If the teachers would have handled the situation better, he might not have become the man he is today.

What about the tiny fact that his father was a slavedriving despot murderer, too? Does that factor in...or?

I find it weird that someone who has received Western education at a private school in Switzerland can turn out to be this kind of a man.

Why bomb Syria when there is a place that is THAT fucked up?

You do realise that over the past 2 years about 100,000 people have been killed in Syria, mostly by government forces, the latest chemical attack is only getting the worlds attention because of the type of weapon used.

It's strange that people seem more up in arms over a potential 1 or 2 day US cruise missile strike against military targets than over the thousands that have already been slaughtered there in attacks directly into civilian areas...

And if I understand you right, you are asking 'why should action be taken in Syria after ~1,000 people were killed in a chemical atrack instead of doing something to this guy that had his ex gf shot'

This is the answer, but you're probably not old enough to get it.

Syria is truly fucked up but I would rather live there than NK. Not even worth debating over. Hands down Syria is a nicer place than NK.

You do realize that North Korea has been under the brutal thumb of the Kim Il-Sung family since World War II right? That they have been ruling the country with an iron fist for over 70+ years. That millions have died due to killings, starvation, etc. As it stands right now, hundreds of thousands of North Koreans are in concentration camps where entire families have lived for at least 2 generations even. If you do something bad, not only do you risk getting killed, but your entire family as well.

This isn't just his ex-gf being shot, this is just another example of a fascist dictatorship that the world cannot face.

There is no comparison. Millions of North Koreans would rather live in Syria under Assad than under this regime in NK.

I don't think that's under debate. If NK had a revolt you'd see machine gun squads just sweeping the streets.

I'm not saying he got like that because of the bullying. I'm sure he was forced into this by the military and government. But if the teachers would have taught him some fucking common sense maybe he would have known better than to return to North Korea.

Sorry but that's not how it works.

You could install a saint into such a political regime and the situation would coerce them to either kill, or have someone kill in their name... lest they be killed.

Kim is not truly an autocrat.

How does the world just stand by as this fascist authoritarian family still rules with an iron fist for 70+ years.

How many people are in camps eating grass to survive, how many are killed etc.

It's just disgusting. It's one reason I absolutely despise the government of Mainland China, they're really the only reason North Korea hasn't utterly failed yet.

Such a shame, a unified Korea would be a global powerhouse. Aid needs to stop to NK as well. As heartless as it sounds, the day the entire country really starts to starve, including the military, is the day you'll see real change. But no, you have millions in food and aid sent which is then administered to the military, and whatever is left is shown as a blessed gift from their 'young general' or dear leader.

China basically.

Basically you get the enemy of the state to stand on/tie them down to a particular spot. A mortar team lines up the trajectory, drops a round down, and fires.

Yeah.

It's even simpler than that as stated in the article. Fire one mortar round, and then have the victim go stand in the crater. Odds are pretty good on where the next round will land if there's no wind.

My brother works as a Tour Operator for North Korea.

He claims everything we see and hear about North Korea is just western propaganda. All hail most dear and benevolent leader.

I've wondered many times when the U.S. will finally get fed up with this freakshow and put an end to it once and for all.

Then, I remember that anyone who attacks N Korea also goes to war with China, and the end result is a Bethesda game on a global scale.

Could say the same about a number of regimes supported by the US.

You're right about China being the reason NK is able to exist, but again it's not like the US doesn't share some of the blame for this.

And a unified Korea doesn't mean global power. There is a lot of resistance amongst South Koreans not to unify as it would be a huge drain on their resources.

So is this confirmed? I am not too sure, since asian news always exagerrate a lot or even state wrong "facts".
I can see how such a thing can happen in NK but if the sources are other asian news, I am always a bit cautious in believing them.

It would be but then again you might wonder if the south-koreans who are opposed to that even think about how the North Korean live in such a shit-hole.

How is it western propaganda if it's coming from East Asia?

Korea + Japan = basically propped up by US - have military bases there.

China doesn't paint a bad picture of NK (of course they have just the opposite agenda).

What? In chinese TV and even on CCTV you can see bad reports about NK almost weekly.

Its just when some chinese meets with some NK-leaders you will see how China makes themselves look good like "We give food to the poor people." Besides that chinese media are the same as western media, when it comes to NK, I would say.

Not really anything useful to say about NK. They've always been horrible and still are.

Must agree with the person who said mortar execution wouldn't be so bad though. Pretty sure I'd prefer that to the firing squad.

I dunno, I'd rather be killed by a firing squad instantly than be forced to stand in a certain area whilst I hear the whistle of the shell coming down towards me.

Ever heard of Nazi Germany? This happened in the country with the greatest achievements in art, philosophy and science.

Don't worry, people forget so quickly these days. No one brings up the fact that NK was basically attempting to hold the world hostage only a few months ago, making daily threats at SK and the US, promising a rain of fire any day now.

Kim Jong-Un will be firmly seated in the meme picture threads again and will be hailed as "cool" as soon as the Dennis Rodman pics bubble back to the top.

The majority of South Koreans have zero interest in reunification.

Can't believe China tolerates this fucker. I'm really hoping they eventually step in and do something about North Korea. Rumored they were grooming his supposedly more moderate brother, no?

I wouldn't be suprised if they just straight up assassinated the NK bigwigs and installed a puppet govt. The only reason the state is allowed to exist by China is as a buffer between the west and the mainland.

Do you think they suddenly burst into your cell and gun you down? No, you'd have to walk out to the yard, kneel down, watch the guards readying their guns and preparing to fire.

Both ways would have horrible periods of waiting first, but at least a direct mortar strike is guaranteed to obliterate you while bullets could leave you gasping for air or bleeding out.

I immediately thought of that thread where the guy was seeing this Korean woman who was married to a high up N.Korean official.

Syria would be hell, be like Afganistan, 1 week your alliance to one group, next week another, with random children and men being forced to go fight and die.

I remember there being a lot of optimism when this guy came into power and bannings left and right for those being unsympathetic to him in the topic showing pictures of him mourning his father. Fuck him and his dad. I wish he could relive that pain everyday of his life.
