Missed opportunity with Zelda Sheikah and Zelda pirate spinoff series. But I'll take it. Echo mechanics looks like it will push my creative muscle a bit.

I'd love that. I don't want Link replaced as the main series protagonist (blank slate though he be), but playing through the same stories years later from a different perspective with radically different gameplay could be amazing, like the gaming equivalent of Ender's Shadow to Ender's Game. They'd also make nice cross-marketing opportunities for inevitable HD remakes of Ocarina, Majora, and Wind Waker; and, development-wise, they're different enough concepts that studios other than Grezzo could work on them.

If this one is a hit, we might just get more spinoffs. There is yet hope.

The whole Nintendo presentation was great. The Zelda game and Metroid Prime 4 were definitely on my list.

I'm sure Nintendo spin on this type of gameplay will be fantastic

I hate most 3D Zelda games while 2D Zelda is a completely different story

Playing as Zelda is one of the most requested features of a Zelda game. Glad Nintendo went with this artstyle, seems to fit the choice well. Can't wait to play it.

WTF am I reading here!? You might as well call NieR Automata "wok" because in Nier Gestalt/Replicant you play male and in Automata you play as female.

If she was some kind of girlboss or had implausible fighting ability despite her gender/stature, I'd agree.

But they made her a magic user with charm powers. She's practically a canon female character for trad high fantasy, lol.

Nintendo actually did diversity correctly, in this case, instead of a lame gender-swap female lead.
