insomniac has patched 4 games for this launch , very nice
not sure if it is patched yet but I tried it out earlier and it was a bit smoother than normal as far as lag goes with crossplay on. It seemed like I was getting less frame drops doing the Maiden with multiple people. That just may be due to the extra performance expected without a Pro patch.Has Diablo 4 been Pro patched yet?
Not enough. The throne demands a patch.Good news for Space.Marine 2 :
Framerate is better but it's still not a solid 60 during hectic moments.
Still, I'll take every improvement (even without a Pro patch yet) over the shit-tastic performance on base PS5, game feels good now instead of playing in slow-mo !
Also : maybe it's me but...the console menus/UI seem and look more laggy ? Has anyone noticed that ?
Also interested in your last questions. I also noticed this. I thought I had to return mine because no one is talking about it but maybe they can fix it via software?Good news for Space.Marine 2 :

PS5 Pro SO runs on DDR5 instead of the overkill GDDR6. So maybe there is little to fix. Also interested in your last questions. I also noticed this. I thought I had to return mine because no one is talking about it but maybe they can fix it via software?
Very muchAre people happy with the pro? Serious question tho!
Has Diablo 4 been Pro patched yet?
Gorilla couldn't help themselves lol. What is the recommended setting for Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster? My game defaulted on Performance Pro.....I thought I'm not supposed to choose anymore. CERNY!!!!
I was wondering about The Crew and Test Drive tbh - two games I don’t own, though I did try The Crew demo. Like you said, it wasn’t very impressive on the base PS5. How does it run?The Crew Motorfest is one of the biggest improvements.
It's a blurry mess on base ps5 looks down right disgusting.
On the pro it looks 4k. This upscaler is the tits.
Just as good as dlsss

If only they were any good.insomniac has patched 4 games for this launch , very nice
Yeah two things I noticed was it's a much sharper image and it's more responsive. I don't think its patched though I think it's just brute forcing thr DRS.I'm still unsure if Black Ops 6 is 'enhanced' yet, but it's definitely better than on base PS5, i'd like to get PSSR made available on it unless it already is, but it very much looks like FSR still to me, however the resolution definitely does seem to sit in the higher bounds of the DRS range and when i say 120fps mode doesn't drop a frame, i mean nothing, it's rock solid, not even my PC locks so hard to 120fps on this game, even with a wider FOV hopefully they don't change that when they 'enhance' it, because that's ultimately the best thing about it right now.
The patch is fucked up. It’s at the moment worse than the original version. How's SH2R looking? I played on Performance Mode and know I missed a lot. Now considering a trade-in to the Pro. Does it run at a better framerate on Quality now because I'm trying to hold of on NG+ if there's a real improvement.

Well, sadly my Pro doesn’t arrives until the 21th. But several gaffers have mentioned the slow down in the UI. It makes sense that if more GDDR6 is made available for the developers is because the operative system has moved to the newly added 2GB of DDR5, leaving the GDDR6 for games performance (available for the devs) and game cache (not available for the devs). While I prefer to spend that expensive memory on games there is not such a thing like a free lunch and running a OS designed to run in super expensive RAM is probably not the same in DDR5.Radical, could you expand on your thought ? You mean that there's indeed a difference in menu/UI response between the OG PS5 and the Pro ?
Again, it's something that i noticed last night, i'm pretty sure it wasn't like this on my previous PS5...

Oh, and call me Ed, please. Not radical.
The Pro experience is going to be great for wackos like me that’s been since last year saving games “for when Pro gets out”, since I expected it 3 years in the life cycle like the previous Pro. I haven’t play Armored Core, Final Fantasy neither Alan Wake. I’m in for a splash of resolution bumps. And I’m not buying Space Marine until it has a patch. I can live with the slow downs but what I wanted for this game is 4K reconstructed at 60fps, and not the blurry mess that the performance mode is now. Thanks for the thorough reply Ed, appreciate it
Well, i didn't stumble on posts asking the same thing (whether the UI feels more laggy) so...
Anyway, makes sense although i really don't like it, it makes the console feel more sluggish and "cheaper"(?)
Things should always evolve/get better and not the exact opposite - especially on "premium" or more powerful hardware and yet, here we are.
Going to be honest here, i was Gob smacked the first few days with the PS4 Pro back in the day, playing Shadow of the Colossus or GOW at 60fps...fuck man, in contrast, the whole PS5 Pro experience has been underwhelming so far for me.
Cheers
Does this appear to be a dev being aware of it kind of situation or From levels of "this is fine"?The patch is fucked up. It’s at the moment worse than the original version.
Jesus wept. We need to wait.
What I understood is that it's more of a compatibility issue and the PRO patch isn't even released yet?The patch is fucked up. It’s at the moment worse than the original version.

No, but I've tested it as is and the quality mode now runs locked 60, with no drops (from the stress bits I tested). Even trying to force VRR on it used to have stutters at times and that seems to be fixed now. I used to run it performance mode before, quality is now the way to play.Nothing for Death Stranding as of yet?
They aren't going to patch it are they?Good news for Space.Marine 2 :

I know.Demon's Souls Pro mode...
Pretty sure they said they had no plans to but hoped it'd be improved out of the boxThey aren't going to patch it are they?
Willits said Saber has no plans right now for Space Marine 2 to join the PS5 Pro Enhanced list, but did confirm that the company’s engineers are in talks with Sony to work out if it’s something they want to support.
“So we're actually in discussions with Sony to figure out what we want to do,” Willits said. “Sony's really happy about the game. Microsoft is happy about the game too! But yes, our engineers are discussing what we can do. We have no plans right now. We're still trying to figure that out. Again, the PS5 Pro is brand new, our game, we're just trying to catch up. So we just have to be patient with our official plans.”

I think it depends what you're after. I'm on an 85" and only now feel like finally next gen is properly here. I'm now getting the image fidelity but at 60fps. I love it. I genuinely do. But I knew what I was after and what I wanted improved.I would get this but I keep seeing that even with the Pro a lot of games still have frame drops etc. Feels like such a minor upgrade. Wish results were more impressive
Yea this is literally all I want and from what I'm reading I'll be getting that. Going to pick mine up tonight.I'm now getting the image fidelity but at 60fps. I love it. I genuinely do. But I knew what I was after and what I wanted improved.

So it looks like DLAA equivalent is being implemented and introduced in God of War Ragnarok as PSSR Anti-Aliasing. Looks very good.
Saw that a while ago. Thanks though.Pretty sure they said they had no plans to but hoped it'd be improved out of the box
I can't tell the difference from the PS5 performance mode. Am I blind? Playing on a 65-inch C1 too.Demon's Souls Pro mode...
Did I read you say that the RotR patch made things worse?I just can’t wait for the next Housemarque particle orgy running on this machine. It’s my main reason to live at this point.
