List of PS5 Pro enhanced games

Is it just me, or does the PS5 version look better? Sharper image, and better vegetation?
I think there are pros and cons. It would have been nice if players could change the graphics settings.
However, this is an intense action game, so the PS5 Pro version (PSSR) looks stable when in motion.

SO MUCH BETTER!
This is what I hate about fsr2. Everything turns into mushed pixels. moving grass on the wind, animations, particle effects.

I am enjoying going through my PS5 games library now I have everything installed on my Pro and checking out the new modes and enhancements.

What is becoming apparent to me though is that while some games do a great job of (a) adding new Pro modes so it is obvious that these are the new modes; and (b) telling the user what the improvements are in the mode descriptions, that there are some games where it isn't so clear.

For example, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which I picked up cheap on disc over the weekend, just shows a Performance and Fidelity mode with the latter offering more RT features. I assume these are the new Pro modes but it would have been if they'd left the original modes in and added new ones with Pro in the descriptions to make it clear. I wish Sony would bring back the PS4's patch notes where the changes and additions to the games were added in the Information box.

Silent Hill 2 is another game that is listed as Pro Enhanced in the PS Store but has the same Performance and Fidelity modes as the base PS5 so it is absolutely not clear if this is patched for the Pro or not. Sure, this game runs better but that seems to be due to the Pro's boost mode which allows the game to better hit its 30 fps and 60 fps framerate targets. I cannot see much difference in the image quality although I obviously do not have the luxury of being able to compare them side-by-side. So is this game Pro Enhanced or not?

Also, what has happened to the Gran Turismo 7 Pro patch that was demoed during the previews? It's absence several days after the console's launch is surprising. I was expecting this to be available from Day One.

I also do not like that publishers like Ubisoft are replacing the original modes with a single one on Pro instead of adding the new one(s) alongside the original. The Pro is a pro-gaming machine, right, so I want more choices and to have both the new Pro modes and the original ones so I can more easily compare how the games look.

I don’t understand how they’re able list a game as Pro Enhanced when it’s not. If your game isn’t patched, then it’s not Pro Enhanced and should be removed from the collection.

^ This!

I 100% agree with you that a PS5 should NOT be listed as Pro Enhanced if the patch that enables the new features is not yet available. It just leads to customer confusion in my opinion and makes the PS5 Pro itself appear to be lacklustre or disappointing.

This is just so dumb, Sony. Fix this, please!

Yeah, I'm at the point where I don't know what is actually enhanced and what is not. I wish every game with "pro enhanced" as a label would just say somewhere what the pro features are. I try looking up on youtube for footage of games I've thought about getting on PS5, like Mortal Kombat 1, and Until Dawn, but I can't find shit that really highlights any differences.

Feels like the Silent Hill 2 tag is just straight up lying, and is basically say "well the framerate is more stable, so it's pro enhanced!"

Very dissapointed here.

The only games i was excited for to play on pro are broken.

Silent hill 2 and jedi survivor have way worse IQ than on base ps5.

And now this IQ is locked in as there is no option to play it in base ps5 mode.

There is a tone of shimmer and flickering even if i just stand still.

I do hope they will patch these games nut starting to think i should just switch back to my original ps5 for the time being

This is why Pro Enhanced games should always include the original graphical modes in my opinion. The people buying the Pro are those who want the options and choices and taking them away is not a good look for the console, especially if the new modes appear to look worse. At least if you have the original modes then you can switch back to those and still have the benefit of the Pro's boost mode for higher dynamic resolutions and/or better framerates.

I couldn't agree with you more. It is confusing, although fortunately it is only a minority of games so far.

What makes this worse is that if the user cannot tell if the game is enhanced or not because the modes are poorly explained or not obviously different from the base system then it will lead to them being disappointed with the console.

Sony need to make it clearer which PS5 games have actually been enhanced by including a Pro icon in the user's Game library along with notes on the Pro enhancements in the Game Information like they did with PS4 games (which I really miss). Also, they should not be including any game in the Pro Enhanced section of the PS Store if the game has not yet been patched to support the Pro. Sony could even add that Pro enhancements have been added to the game by way of the download notifications that pop up whenever a new game is patched.

These would all add to the user experience in my opinion and remove any doubts or guesswork.

I played Jedi Survivor with the Performance mode and I find the image very unstable. Sure it looks sharp and runs smooth but every time you turn the camera you see white rectangles at the edge of the screen, as if the engine can't render the scenery fast enough. It feels extremely unpolished.

The white rectangles you are seeing are occlusion artefacts, which are common to Unreal Engine 4 and 5 games, as the engine removes obstructed geometry that the player isn't to supposed to see to save rendering time. The problem is that it can often be seen through doorways and so on as you quickly rotate the camera and can be distracting, especially in darker environments.

This issue also affects the PC as well, it's not just a console issue although I typically see it more on those, perhaps because this feature is set to be more aggressive due to less powerful hardware?

Haven’t seen it mentioned yet but Redacted is running at native 4K full 120 fps on pro. I even made an OT for it. :)

Thats wrong sadly. Game runs worse, but it is indeed looks much better
Got a bit further (theme park with woman) and yeah I’ve started to see drops for the first time. The opening few hours were defiantly much smoother than I played at launch on the base PS5 though. I also have a VRR TV so it’s presumably hiding any drops if they don’t fall below 48fps right?

The game is light years ahead on Pro in terms of IQ in its performance mode though. It looked horrific on base in that mode.

The thing is AWII is a great looking game but I don’t think it looks much better than RE4 Remake for instance to be causing drops below 60fps on even a base PS5. I think maybe it’s cause they’re one of the few more PC centric AAA developers left and their tech / engine just doesn’t scale down well to consoles.

I could of swore it was getting it. Just unsure when.
Nah, just seen that it apparently has been enhanced. Mustn't have been too significant.

Had to look up what improved and cant find much info. Wondering if its like Silent hills 2 where its labelled but hasnt had a update?

That's a bit annoying, should not label it if it has not received it. It's somewhat misleading.

I did check , at least HD2 is not labeled on the PSN Store having Pro patch.

You are not the only one experiencing this. Word is that the game hasn't actually been patched yet with Pro Enhancements but has been advertised with it anyway. This is a Bloober problem.

The GT7 patch is the biggest miss for me atm. Maybe they’re waiting for the 21st November, for the 30th anniversary?

I guess Sony would like to announce some decent stuff 1st party around that time. I know that there is a ‘My First GT’ being released then, and hopefully a belated content patch for the rest of us, with the Pro patch included.

Yeah most likely they are bundling the pro patch in with whatever else(new events, cars etc.) they where gonna release for the next patch.

Bought Star Wars: Outlaws yesterday as its the only Pro enhanced game I hadn't already played.

This is a mixed bag, I don't remember a game recently that can look both beautiful and trash at the same time depending on the area. The outdoor zones in Toshara (first main planet) can look stunning but interior zones really look flat and ugly. The world lighting really seems to benefit large outdoor areas but interiors just seem so dull. Supposedly this is the original "Quality" mode running at 60fps. I can't imagine how bad this game looked on the original performance mode on PS5.

Seems like a fun game however but definitely not a showcase for the Pro at all. Jedi Survivor looks leaps and bounds better.
Just a heads up incase you don’t know but they have a patch coming on the 21st that significantly alters and improves a lot of core gameplay mechanics like stealth, shooting and overall balance. It was going to be my day one Pro game until I read the above. They might also now improve the Pro mode with the 21st’s patch.

I realised last night that I had tried the RT mode in Harry Potter with uncapped framerate, which is why it was unplayable. Switching the option to capped (so 30fps), and it ran as well as any 30fps game. It actually looks really nice.

Yes true. Exactly same feeling here.
Btw balanced mode got all the same features but no rt and runs 40 locked.
Performance and mega performance modes both have lower lod for vegetation

I've tried Remnant 2 on PS5pro and I'm very happy with it. It's smoother and sharper, I've been playing for about 100 hours on the normal PS5 and I've noticed the improvement immediately and it's not even patched. It may be the dynamic resolution or the Boost mode, but all the games look sharper.
Thanks for the report! I really enjoyed my time with it on the base PS5, but I never returned to play the DLCs they've released. I think I’ll buy all three DLCs next time they go on sale and give the game another spin on the Pro.

I can see its a bit clearer on Performance Pro vs Base Performance and there is less pixel breakup on moving grass, but it doesnt seem to reach the original Base Fidelity mode IQ though. Its seems to be pretty small difference for sure, maybe if he tested more scenes while moving.
I'm very disappointed in Zero Dawn's "pro" patch ...wtf ...i actually think it looks worse now than base PS5 especially in daylight....it's extremely flat looking

Whereas with Forbidden west there's no question about Pro patch you see morr detail right away.

In that video i think it looks cleaner in motion (the grass) and very slightly sharper but i dont have an opinion if it looks flat or not since i havent seen much footage yet other than that video.
I want to wait for Digital Foundry analysis, they are by far the best at doing/showcasing these kind of comparisons.

Looking forward to it if it ever gets a sale ..damn game hasn't had a sale yet and I've waited this long
It is worth a full price. Great combat, beautiful protagonist, beautiful graphics and excellent level design and interesting lore and story. It has that old school, late 90's and early 20's action game feel to the game. Plus DLC are coming up this November, and possibly more to come by next year.

I tried the PSN trial and I'm convinced I don't see evidence of a Pro patch ...
This is about GT7? They showed to the media what ps5 can do to Gt7, it is possible they are still preparing the update. Polyphony digital are perfectionist, they always want the best, so when it comes to update especially for ps5 pro I'm sure they will do there best that it is perfect.

After dicking around with some games and being let down by some , my conclusion is the pro is not worth a buy this year.
But next year , in 4 to 6 months we will finaly see what it can deliver.
This right now feels like the ps5 release with little to no games and bunch of old games running a bit better.

No one is missing out on anything right now.

If you have a backlog of any kind it will play better on Pro, so if you’re going to get one anyway, why wait?

Are you not going to be playing any games at all anytime soon?

Sadly no i wont.

You see here is the thing. By now you saw me posting my biggest dissapointments.
Silent hill 2 and jedi survivor and outlaws. I already put them away to play them on the pro. And these titles right now are unplayable visualy. I gave my original ps5 to my nephew so i cant even go back.

I restarted alan wake 2 which also is a dissapointment but at least it works . Might finish that.

PRobably will get into hogwarts but i am not a fan so will see how far i ger with it.

NOw i am down to games i already finished like horizon etc and down to games that i put aside for the pro like avatar, talos 2 and some more but have no pro patch yet.

There is nothing new for the rest of the year that interests me.
Yes i will play soul reaver collection but thats it.

I guess if you are a newcomer sure there is plenty to play but for exisiting users there isnt much.

And i just dont care to go back and replay old games with my limited time.

But i have fait in devs to fix their games or release new pro patches so i have high hopes

I'm honestly sort of disappointed more then I thought I would be, but I'm still going to keep mine. I waited to play Rebirth until the Pro came out and I put SH2 on the backburner (about half way through) because the Pro was so close, but that's really it outside of COD (which 1 I'm sort of sick of already and it hasn't even gone into Season 1 and 2 doesn't have a patch anyways) and GT7 which also doesn't have it's patch yet. Most of the games I have finished already, or I'm just simply not interested in them, so I downloaded them to look at them for 5 minutes before I uninstalled them.

The thing is though is that there will be more games that I will want it for like Monster Hunter that will come out soon and since I can afford it right now (plus I sold my digital Slim for $300) there is no difference between buying it now or 6-12 months down the line because this thing isn't getting a price drop anytime soon if at all.

Really impressive showing from the Pro here. It's the best version on consoles by a huge margin and is even preferable to mid or upper-mid-range PCs due to how CPU bottlenecked-to-hell it is. A 5600X doesn't come close to locking 60fps in the big city. The Pro gets between 55-60 and can go as high as the mid-70s in Performance Mode at 120Hz.

Think I might grab it there instead of PC. The 13900K+4090 PC does run at a much higher fps, settings, and resolution, but I think the Pro's frame rate is more stable and smoother.
