Really want SH2, Wukong, and Cyberpunk to have pro enhancements. I mean come on…. Also weird this Lego Horizons doesn’t say pro patch support. That seems like a no brainer…

I was dead set on buying the PS5 Pro until I thought of some things. I don't like the controller, I'm a small guy, 1. I have woman sized hands, the PS5 controller is a little too big for me. 2. It's not gonna be every single game optimized for the PS5 Pro. 3. Steam has over 100,000 games on Windows! 4. Games on Windows allows you to tweak the graphics, consoles don't. PC for me. More games, more tweaks.

I don’t blame anyone for skipping it

I am not a huge fan of the PS controller either but mine is the reversed problem as my hands are massive being a large framed man

I hate the stick placements as compared to the Xbox as my thumb tips bump each other when using both sticks as I set the stick dome on the pads of my thumbs

Head to head Dualsense Edge vs Elite 2 the Elite 2 is way more comfortable for big handed peeps.

I used a Cronus last gen to use my elite 1 on PS4. I have to look into it and see if there is something out there like that or if they don't have it anymore due to cheaters.

See if Brooks adapters would work

I also prefer the two extra paddles the elite series 2 has

It was a brooks not a Cronus, I mixed it up when I had a Cronus for my fight sticks during the PS3 era. I'll have to check.

The brooks worked really good except it would sometimes turn on the one x while playing the PS4.

Agree on the extra paddles and also placement.

Nice attempt at gaslighting ..what did he say that's not true? We should be wanting for more support out of a $780 system than this, not trying to shut people down. If we don't make our voices heard to Sony than the Pro is going to be a failure and inferior alternative to PC gaming. You buy a new PC or GPU, every game you own gets significant improvement to settings ...not the case with the Pro. Do you have a digital library of PS5 games? The Pro only provides value if these games get improved ...the Pro could "save" people from having to switch to PC. Right now lets say you have 100-200 games in your ps5 library and you decide to switch to PC- all those games are rendered obsolete because you now have access to the same games looking and running better.

30-40 pro enhanced games is not good at all and Sony's mum as to whether more will be be coming. Sure we know most future games will have Pro enhancements but what about all the great games released this gen that are held back by poor image quality and framerate issues? The Pro won't even enhance Cyberpunk, Black Ops 6, Black Myth, or Silent Hill 2 as of right now... What about BC games on console that you may have bought for PS4 that if you were to buy a PC would go from 1080p to 4k with better settings no questions asked.

We need to raise these issues now in hopes that it will gain some traction with the media. Then Sony will have to realize they need to do better. You gaslighting and trying to shut people down hurts you too.

1. Over 70 games have been announced as having Pro Enhancements so your number is outdated. The damn OP has that info. You have Silent Hill 2 on this list and again it’s on this very page as having Pro files. Read.

2. You still have to add in the cost of rebuilding said library of games. Switching ecosystems doesn’t just carry over the games too.

I mean, these is the same group that updated Witcher 3 with Ray tracing like eight years after it came out they’ll probably do something.
Didn't they abandon the engine and switched to Unreal, pretty sure it wouldn't make sense to go back and do work on the old engine?
Of course there are easy wins to be had just adding features from the PC version, so I guess there's still a good chance.

Nothing is not true. But either he’s the best troll I’ve ever seen (listen “He’s A Pirate” in that case) or he’s seriously challenged. Ok, I’ll explain his joke…

He was dead serious about buying an update of a system. So he must have been following the news, right? Either way, then he decided that the controller of a system that is 4 years old is too big. Therefore the same controller in the update is a no no…
big-boss.gif
Everything else is an extension of the same joke. Not every single game is going to be optimised since 4 years of games already has passed. And an update of a system with a known catalog of games is not as big as (and this is the icing of the cake) PC gaming. And a console, which is designed to have less tweaking than a PC, and this one, that is designed specifically to remove the election of the previous iteration to have even less tweaks, has less tweaking than PC gaming. So then again no no. And that constant reference to tangencial aspects of PC gaming that is recurrent in Pro threads by PC evangelits. Honestly…

Would be good if devs we cared about did Pro patches for games that need it. Cyberpunk or Wukong would be nice. Who gives a shit about Quantum Error?

It’s not devs’ job to sell PlayStations. They’ll announce it if/when they are ready.

I’m already in on the pro day 1, but has it actually been officially announced that for all new releases pro support is mandatory as I believe was the case with the PS4 Pro, this for me would be the real game changer going forward.

The game that should've been shown and in dire need of pro support is black myth , good lord that game has some seriously soft looking image

It wouldn’t be too much to ask if the studios specified the exact changes made instead of just stating that the game is now Pro Enhanced.
People are speculating that the improvements are most likely not significant, otherwise they would have given more details.

Support is mandatory in the manner that games must run on the pro but games are not forced to have pro enhancements (at least from my understanding)

Even that article lays that out

"PlayStation 5 Pro support does not mean that all developers have to make their games run 4K 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 Pro. It also does not mean that they expect developers to use ray tracing or other features. It would be absurd to expect a release like Animal Well or Balatro, for example, to find a way to use such features.

This is more of a baseline requirement. Every game that will be released on the PlayStation 5 also has to run on the PlayStation 5 Pro. It may seem to most gamers that a game made for the earlier platform would also run on the upgraded version. But it is absolutely possible to program games in such a way that it doesn’t have that compatibility."

Oh, I know. I just wanted to clarify the mandatory minimum. What that entails will surely be a case-by-case!

I just hope that the development workflow process is easy enough for them to add Pro features without having to reinvent the wheel. As a layman, I really don't know how much extra effort needs to be expended to make it happen.

mandatory minimum is to have the game on a Pro supported SDK I guess. That way specific back-compat automated tests can be run before certification

Looks that way, but maybe it’ll be, at the very least, some sort of boost as a minimum!

if a game does not perform locked 30/60/120 on base, it will most certainly run better on the Pro when using a Pro SDK. Only games that may use PS5 base performance profile on the Pro should be the ones not on a Pro SDK that may have some issues, especially PS4 only games. And even those might have slight enhancements e.g. better frame pacing, like what happened with Bloodborne on the PS4 Pro.
Maybe a few PS4 games get broken... they never fixed DEAD NATION :(

Yeah for a moment I thought it was Quantum Break, then looked - 40 Meta score... not exactly a jewel in the crown.
