List of PS5 Pro enhanced games

I was dead set on buying the PS5 Pro until I thought of some things. I don't like the controller, I'm a small guy, 1. I have woman sized hands, the PS5 controller is a little too big for me. 2. It's not gonna be every single game optimized for the PS5 Pro. 3. Steam has over 100,000 games on Windows! 4. Games on Windows allows you to tweak the graphics, consoles don't. PC for me. More games, more tweaks.

The PSVR 2 version should be amazing.

1. Over 70 games have been announced as having Pro Enhancements so your number is outdated. The damn OP has that info. You have Silent Hill 2 on this list and again it’s on this very page as having Pro files. Read.

2. You still have to add in the cost of rebuilding said library of games. Switching ecosystems doesn’t just carry over the games too.

Lol ...until today all anyone has ever referred to is 30-40. BTW did you READ that list? So many of those games are shovelware, gaas trash but ok i'll give you that it is 70 ...doesn't mean that list doesn't absolutely suck in the context of how many games do not have patches.

Cyberpunk 2077, black myth wukong, space marine 2, control, dying light 2, dead island, baulders gate 3, witcher 3, Astro bot, Black ops 6, mw3 and tons more

If you decided to read more instead of going straight to replying you would see that the list has been updated for weeks since the reveal. Even then they said 40-50 so your number was inaccurate from the jump.

Stutters? You mean frame rate drop? I don't know I haven't bought it yet. But I've had gaming PCs before, the frame rate are always better and less stutter for sure. I got frame rate drops on The Last of Us on my PS5 slim. I won't get any stutter on the PC.

You planning on updating your opinion publicly as the announcements keep coming? Or just shift your attack vector?

Of course I will as all I've ever wanted was for the Pro to have great support and significant enhancements ....right now there are too many big name games that need a Pro patch missing. Right now Sony is half assing things with Performance Pro modes instead of Fidelity Pro modes. I'm not buying a Pro to have to play with lower settings than I already have been in Fidelity mode on PS5, ESP knowing the Pro is more than capable of hitting 60 in Fidelity mode (drop native res and apply pssr)....i don't play that fanboy shit I go hard at both MS and Sony when there's good reason to.

We will be getting an explosion of popular games

Surprised to see Hitman: World of Assassination on that list; nonetheless, this has me excited that the three games I've listed - Final Fantasy XVI, Black Myth: Wukong, and Cyberpunk 2077 - along with others like Warhammer: Space Marine 2 and (unofficially confirmed) Silent Hill 2 will all get official PS5 Pro support.

Hopefully that niche RPG game Granblue: Fantasy Relink gets support because, like Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake when it comes eventually, it only supports 4K 30fps on Graphics Mode and 1080p 60fps for performance mode. I've played the demo in performance mode and REALLY needs this support. When it does, I will buy it in a heartbeat.

Well in THAT case .... seriously though we don't know this and shouldn't assume they're coming jusy because they're high profile ..look how many games are missing updates for the ps5/sx ...or, as in the case of last of us 2, it took 4 years to get an update!

From ps4>ps5 and from xbox one>series x off the top of my head we never got updates for: sunset overdrive, ryse, the order, driveclub, quantum break, forza horizon 3, gears ultimate, gears 4 (it got 60 fps at the expense of using One S visuals at 1080p lol), dead rising 3, battlefield 4, mw 2019, Mafia remake, RDR2, dishonored 2, last guardian, shadow of collossus, gravity rush 2, ac unity, ac syndicate, ac black flag (ps4), ac ezio collection (ps4), little big planet 3, BLOODBORNE, far cry 4, watch dogs 1 and 2, far cry 3 classic ed, mgsv, dirt rally 1+2, dark souls 2+3, the EVIL WITHIN, Mafia 2 definitive ed, ARKHAM KNIGHT!, Deus Ex mankind divided and im sure many more

Nobody should "expect" todays devs/publishers to patch their games which is why this early list of games matters. Some of the missing games will come eventually but im sure many will never get supported....

PS- Silent Hill 2 does NOT have Pro support coming as of now.

There are a couple of games on your list I think are shaky getting pro enhanced at this point but willing to bet big money a large chunk of those your listed will

Support is mandatory in the manner that games must run on the pro but games are not forced to have pro enhancements (at least from my understanding)

Even that article lays that out

"PlayStation 5 Pro support does not mean that all developers have to make their games run 4K 60 FPS on PlayStation 5 Pro. It also does not mean that they expect developers to use ray tracing or other features. It would be absurd to expect a release like Animal Well or Balatro, for example, to find a way to use such features.

This is more of a baseline requirement. Every game that will be released on the PlayStation 5 also has to run on the PlayStation 5 Pro. It may seem to most gamers that a game made for the earlier platform would also run on the upgraded version. But it is absolutely possible to program games in such a way that it doesn’t have that compatibility."

Makes 0 sense saying that.. it's a suped up ps5 every game that runs on ps5 will run on ps5pro with no added effort

I mean I have a PC with 58003D and a RTX4090 and I get stutters on some of the current games. Would love to know what PC you think you will buy that will avoid them completely. Traversal and compilation stutters are completely unvoidable with any hardware out for some games on PC. You can’t just brute force it for some games with any hardware that’s out right now.

My advice, stop arriving at conclusions when it hasn't even released yet. Just sit back, watch the list grow, see whats available at release, whats announced as coming, and what is silent and likely to miss out on an update.

As an aside I note you are having a go at Sony when everything points towards them making it very simple to do some upgrades and probably not too much of an investment to do major upgrades. Which if this is the case shouldn't you be pointing fingers at the developers instead of Sony?

I really hope Fromsoft dont touch Elden Ring as they will most likely fuck it up somehow. Simply from Pros boost mode the PS5 version should run at a locked 60fps.

The game also runs at 1600p if i recall, so PSSR is largely unnecessary. The RT the game has also sucks so implementing that into a "Pro mode" may just compromise the FPS with little gain.

1440p with PSSR to 4k and they could get the RT mode to 60fps with better IQ than native, but i guess it's From Software.

From would have a single mode targeting 8k or 4k with high RT so you are unable to hit 60fps, again. I think they're punishing their userbase for something.

Absolutely wrong.

Shaders are precompiled for specific console hardware.

They aren’t compiled for your specific PC.

So when you launch a game the developer has either
A) made you wait at the beginning of the game while they compile (hopefully all of them, occasionally they just do some and you get stutter anyway)z
B) they’re compiled as needed. You get stuttering as they compile. Don’t worry… after you’ve seen everything in the game it’ll be smooth! Until you update your drivers… then it’s happening again.

Try a round of Fortnite if you’d like to see this nonsense in action for free.

I have a 7900 XTX with my 5800x3d. So I can concur with my 4090 colleague in here that it doesn’t matter what hardware you’ve got. It’s happening. Make your peace with it.
