the murray scottish-british thing was funny i dunno the first time i heard it five years ago. kinda lost it by the twelve billionth repetition, especially when he became really good and it stopped being true.

It never stopped being true because the media never stopped doing it. Even after the last Wimbledon final they reverted to him mostly being referred to as Scottish after he lost vs British when he had a chance.

LMAO, McEnroe asking Murray which one he wants: a gold medal or a slam.

OBVIOUSLY a slam, but he won't say that shit

Some dickhead was bound to do it. Don't know why they couldn't just allow him to enjoy his achievement.

Well he's still slamless.

I think, honestly, he'd rather have a Gold at an Olympics in London than a slam. He has a chance of a slam four times a year but an Olympics in your home country comes once in a lifetime.

Plus the amount of confidence this will give him, BEATING DJOKOVIC AND FEDERER TO WIN, is going to be huge!

Happy that smarmy arse 'RF' lost.

Even happier that Andy won, deserves something to celebrate, and proving that you don't need to be an effervescent smelting pot of personality to be a great sportsman.

Its not a grand slam, but it feels just as good. Unbelievable. Congratulations Andy Murray. Fed wasn't at his best, but Andy played one of the best matches of his life and thoroughly deserves the medal. What a fucking weekend. Laura Robson must be licking her lips right now.

Doubt it, but may treasure it more if he wins a couple of slams.

If he honestly wants a gold medal over a slam, he's crazy.

A medal makes a nice ADDITION to a tennis career to complement slams; it shouldn't be the crowning achievement for a top player.

I really don't know what's happening with tennis this Olympics Del Potro was 'destroying' Fed until he lost concentration, then Del Potro 'Destroyed' Novak even after his marathon.

you guys are crazy if you think anyone would take a gold over a slam.

saying that someone prefers gold over Wimbledon is flat out insane.

He'll never have another opportunity to get a career golden slam, he'll win more majors though.

I don't have a feeling on it either way, but I can see the argument.

This is huge for Andy Murray.

Now he knows he can beat a great player on a big stage.

I say Murray beats Djokovic to win the US Open.

Fed hasn't won Olympic gold in the singles is the point I think he's trying to make. The one thing he's missing if I can recall correctly.

Impressed delpo got Bronze!

Wow Russia have 31 medals, but only 3 golds :o

They'll be getting two from synchronized swimming. The announcers are saying that coaches for other teams have flatout told them that they'd be happy with silver of bronze because they know that they have no chance of beating Russia.

if he could chose 10 tournament wins he would take wimbledon 10 times. (he said that before) and i totally believe him.
