... sorry Davis.

they need to sign a new good FA PG

7th in the world = 2nd last in what universe?

She's not 7th in the world. She's 7th among the swimmers allowed to compete in the Olympics. The US and Australia have more swimmers who can swim faster than her. The 4 swimmers from these 2 countries all beat her by at least 1 second.

Having a unibrow being part of your brand must be horrible.

And it's still better than LeBron's neck beard.

I'd just pluck it, but it's probably worth millions to Davis. Too bad he couldn't have something cool, like Omar's scar, or Ovi's missing front tooth.

Oh well. Brow it is.

Kentucky made a fuckton of money just selling fake unibrows during the basketball season

Rofl. This poor kid. This poor talented, popular, millionaire.

Being a guy rocks, you want to be a successful female athlete, you better look good. Kournikova was the highest paid tennis player for years and she sucked. Jesse Palmer is a commentator on Canadian cable tv. C'est la vie.

Got to be in it to win it.
But anyway, even if she's 15th fastest my point stands.

Davis is impressing me. Also, Love is a great three shooter in these olympics. I don't follow the Timberwolves much, was he pretty good at the three there?

impressing you off of lobs?

his defense has been equally unimpressive against these scrubs

and love won the 3pt contest

So Phelps has 19 medals now/most ever, great accomplishment but Phelps' arrogance and lack of enthusiasm really undercut it IMHO. Interesting perspective as to why he didn't exactly light it up this time to put it mildly from teammate Tyler Clary who earlier this month bluntly said what we all knew: Phelps is bored/boring and lazy:

Perhaps Meatball subs, pot and CoD marathons are more compelling pursuits

"I saw somebody that has basically been asking to get beat for the longest time."

By Mark Humphrey, AP

Harsh words about someone looking to become the most decorated Olympian of all-time later this month.

But that's how Michael Phelps' training partner, Tyler Clary, felt about the work ethic he saw in Phelps when the two were training together at the University of Michigan.

Clary, arguably the third-best U.S. swimmer behind Phelps and Ryan Lochte, shared some surprising thoughts on Phelps with Press-Enterprise columnist Jim Alexander.

Clary, 23, will be competing in his first Olympic Games in London and dismissed any assumptions that Phelps served as a mentor. Rather, he presented him as lazy. The two will go head-to-head in the 200-meter butterfly at London.

"I saw a real lack of preparation (from) him. Basically, he was a swimmer that didn't want to be there. They can talk about all of these goals and plans and preparation they have. I saw it. I know. It's different. "

So much for Phelps and Lochte being the only swimming rivalry in London.

"I've always called myself more of a blue-collar worker, as far as swimming goes," Clary said. "I work my (butt) off all the time. That's not to say that everybody else doesn't. But the fact that I know I work harder than he does makes me appreciate every little goal and every little gain that I make.

"And the day that it happens, when I finally beat him, is going to be a huge deal in my mind, because it would be complete satisfaction. And the only thing that would be better than that is breaking the world record."

damn it, i was excited to see that Beach Volleyball was still going on but this is a sport of two extremes. the bad weather outfits couldnt be less sexy

Didn't someone say that Phelps' silver medal time in the breast stroke was faster than his gold time last Olympics? Training hard, and training effectively doesn't mean the same thing. Dude's got three medal's already. He's fine.

Like saying Kobe's lazy cause he's lost in the semis the last two seasons.

"Mister Kobe, can you sign my Air Jordan? Please sign it, "Number two, all time," thanks!"
Shit is just funny after getting destroyed go up and ask for an autograph

Eh, he could of just as easily got injured in summer league ala Rivers.

NBA practice is probably harder than playing some of these teams.

True but It seems olympic practices and games run them alot more then nba scrimms

Just happy to be there. Honestly, how great would it be if you're playing in a park and Durant shows up? Would you even care how well you did?

I heard this great story from Nash, I think it was on the Grantland podcast. He didn't play at all during the lockout, and after lazing around for a few months, went to the YMCA for a pick up game, and got outplayed by some other dude. He then went back a week later and made sure to kick his ass. Dude is so competitive :)

Imagine the other guy, beating Steve Nash!

I can well believe it, so glad that South African won that gold, it obviously meant the world to him. To phelps it'd be just anothergold medal.

It's easy to forget that Phelps isnt getting any younger either. I mean isnt it always the same with these superhero-athletes? They arent more talented than others, they are just a little bit ahead of their time. Given enough time it's normal for the competition to catch up / surpass them.

Exactly.

And Phelps just exudes boredom, no enthusiasm or crowd pleasing charm like Lochte.

Also, after Phelps placed fourth the first day (right after that stupid Seacrest interview that pre-empted, uh more important things), I laughed and thought to myself, "Hmmmmm, apparently Lochte must be either a snake or a height of some kind!"

The thing about Phelps is that what happened in 2008 was a completely crazy once in a lifetime thing. The different swimming events aren't meant to be dominated by a single person because they require very specific skills.

So it was pretty much the most amazing sports feat ever, and there was no way he would duplicate it (and of course, he had the luck to get that millisecond win and have the anchor win the gold, just like he was unlucky to lose gold by a millisecond or have Lochte screw up the anchor this year, goes both ways)

The same people who hate Michael Phelps are the same guys who hate Barry Bonds, Tiger Woods and Lebron James because they're just not "endearing" enough in the eyes of the media. For all you know Lochte could be the biggest cocksucker in the world but his public persona is "American bad boy".

Sorry, but when I watch an athlete perform I'm not looking for how well he speaks to the media, I'm watching because they're supremely talented people doing what they do best. All this "I like Lochte more because he wears a diamond grill and totally has swag" stuff is total nonsense. They're both American athletes and should be treated as equals.

Yes We know Pelps could do it better but Com´n people we are talking about 19 MEDALS, you deserve do play CoD as crazy , be lazy or whatever you want after this.

I would like to see Tyler C. ´s performance after 19 medals , but that will never happens. So if he is "angry" because he has to train more to be in the olimpic team that´s not Phelp´s problem.

Life is easier for some people and others have to train/study/work more and that happens in all areas.

So Phelp´s can make all the CoD marathons he wans, still Tyler wont match him. That is how life works.
