GB owns the rowing - they've invested well for this Olympics, which should see them do well in the next.

As an Australian, I agree. Stupid medal tally.

Gold is so passe. It's all about the silvers.

It's pretty sad when I'm putting my hopes on sailing gold :( The Kiwis are beating us!

i just HATE how Track & Field competitions are broadcasted. Field events completely take the backseat for track events and its plain dumb. I want to watch the field events live and not have them showing me a taped attempted from minutes ago. Almost everything field related is shown in delay.

I don't want to watch a boring 10 minute run. Why are the focusing on the ENTIRE run EXCLUSIVELY. There are 2-3 field events going on and i want to see them LIVE. Why do i need to see runners being introduced when there's action going on in the field?

Every single Athletics competition is like that and i've never seen a good explanation to that. Cut the attention given to Track events or join up with the times and have two broadcasting teams - for track and field - and let the audience CHOOSE what to watch.

Same. It's being shown like a standard athletics meeting where they cut between everything. On the bbc channels they have dedicated channels for the field finals at least

They're host broadcasters aren't they? So they shoot everything and can make it available to us. If they're beaming everything globally to other broadcasters then whoever is doing the winter Olympics could do the same, but who knows?

Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) is an agency of the International Olympic Committee, established in 2001 to be responsible for host broadcasting - the world feeds provided to all international broadcasters of the Olympic Games from 2008 on, and provide continuity in Olympic coverage from one Games to the next.

It employs teams from around the world to produce the coverage of the 26 Olympic sports, with its services provided to the host city as part of the Host City Contract agreement. The template has been in place only since 2008, before which the host broadcaster was typically provided by the host city.

The BBC were more than unhappy with the service they provided for the mens cycling road race.

Lads, who else is joining rowing and cycling clubs after this Olympics?

Hope you enjoy repetitive pain :-D

Seriously though rowing is great if you can handle the training times. There's very little to compare when you get the send on boat and it's a glorious morning

I know Murray and Robson are playing today, but is Federer playing any doubles today as well?

Murray has got to have as much energy as possible to take down Federer.

I used to use the rowing machine at the gym... if actual rowing is supposedly much harder then I want nothing to do with that sport.

Nah he got eliminated from the mens doubles a couple of days ago, i dont think he entered the mixed.

Those rowing shorts pretty much put me off being involved in that sport.

Because I don't want to put everyone else to shame obviously

So, where are those idiots who a couple of days ago were saying: "worst display by a home nation lulz"???
It's because our swimmers/divers were put on a pedestal for months/years coming up to the Olympics compared to all our other athletes. They were rammed down our throat and underperformed.
I'm not claiming she doped, but I'm a bit bewildered as to how quickly Ledecky beat her personal best, and by how much.
Not sure if you're joking, but if not you should really search for an interview Ian Thorpe did on the BBC regarding this. He said, for <17 year olds, personal bests mean absolutely nothing as the rate of change in their body is much higher than that of an adult. It's really not as big a deal as everyone is making it out to be.

Then the UK should specifically train up youngsters in swimming then.
