What's with the arm warmers?

I've seen a Brit get a medal!

Go Christine! Wasn't really expecting one today.

Weird seeing a slver medallist doing a lap of honour, but understandable.

We got like 30 minutes till the big one. So excited. You could be running under 9.7 maybe and not even medal.

Some sprinters are still accelerating as they cross the line. Top speed probably comes somewhere between 80 and 120 metres.

I saw BBC documentary a few weeks ago about the 100m. They say the runners who come through at the end aren't slowing as much, but everyone slows, and if they aren't slowing at all they're probably doped up.

Too often modern athletic clothing is worn simply as a fashion garment. However, for those individuals involved in intense and/or competitive activity, the literature would suggest that compression clothing may provide both a performance and a recovery aid. The mechanisms that mediate any performance gains appear to be related to a considerable number of variables including enhanced proprioception, reduced muscle oscillation, enhanced lactate removal and/or psychological factors (ie subjects like the feel of the garments and perceive that they can improve performance).

Wait wait wait.

Why is Luke Campbell guaranteed at least a bronze if he's only just won his QF? Is there some quirk of boxing I'm not aware of?

Can't believe you're in the stadium on a last minute ticket. Mind me asking how much it cost?

None of the track and field feeds are working for me on NBCOlympics.com...what the eff!
