Arsenal's trophy cabinet got looted too, police have confirmed and assured arsenal fans that the looters got away with nothing...

cold

I'm deaf so I didn't hear what that woman in hackney was saying, could anyone possibly write it down?

"Im embarrassed to be black, your hurting innocent people, this has nothing to do with hackney, you want to burn up these shops for what? To say your "warring", to say your "bad man" ? Get it real black people! If we're fighting for a cause FIGHT FOR A CAUSE, you lot piss me the fuck off!"

Along those lines anyway.

That's got to be a joke right? There is nothing in Arsenal's trophy cabinet.

It made me laugh anyway.

This is another thread that shows how a large part of GAF isn't able to see that sometimes there might be a middle ground. It's either:

"It's lazy, stupid scum that shouldn't receive money in the first place, they can work as hard as I do."

or

"If society took care of these kids, this wouldn't be happening"

Like almost always, it's a little bit of both. People shouldn't take these events and make sweeping judgements.
Not that these fuckers shouldn't be punished.

Google News links are saying at least 200 have been arrested.
I hope so. Sky News just confirmed 9, that was all. I hope their information is wrong, which half the time it typically is.

That 9 arrested figure must have been for one single area I'd suspect then.

Never trust Sky News

And what's this I keep hearing about rich boroughs being properly protected, while poor boroughs are being left to burn? Sounds typically British enough to be true, but...

Clapham Junction isn't a poor neighborhood by any stretch of the imagination.

If the number of 1400 police was true, that's worrying when there's groups of a couple of hundred people in places.

And that number is 3 times what they had for the last 2 nights, and includes forces from outside London.

Just how are they going to cope if it continues to escalate and spread to more and more cities?

traveling to London tomorrow :p Staying over in Paddington and Harrow though.

Be wary - apparantly the riots have hit as far west as Harrow on the Hill and Ealing. Paddington seems to be unaffected though.

The Childrens hospital has been hit. Rioters were smashing windows and attempted to bomb steelhouse lane police station. My friends mum was there and was escorted out of the hospital by police. I assume other people were too!! :/
from the birmingham blog, this better not be true, that's just fucking wrong

Guys, guys, guys. Clapham Junction is a station. The neighbourhood would be Clapham.

Err no, Clapham Junction is a neighborhood around the Station. It is not officially recognised as a neighborhood but for those who live in the area it's easy to split Clapham into it's station based neighborhoods: Junction, Common, North and South.

She essentially says:

"why are you doing this to local people. Are you fighting for a cause? Because your not, going smashing Foot Locker is not fighting for a cause. You make me sick".

The people stealing a TV from the wall in Ladbrooks were foiled by not understanding they had to life UP and then OUT to take it of the wall bracket.

The army will be on the streets tomorrow, I'd put money on it.

What other choice is there? There aren't enough police, they don't have any watercannons.

They probably have to their rubber bullets flown in from The Channel Islands or something. If this happens again tomorrow night you're looking at a problem that won't be fixed for weeks.

More reports saying Birmingham Childrens hospital has been smashed up.

If this is true then calling them what ever name you can think of is insulting to the thing you're calling them.

Nothing happening in Harrow right now but they did close down the station, probably to limit access because it's an obv. spot for potential rioting.

I don't even live in England but every shot of a burned down shop makes me feel like it't them shitting on the struggeling European economy. I really hate people who do this stuff without even understanding the economical impact.

Smh. Awful if true.

Bring the Syrian army in, hose down the streets. I would support devastating violence against these pieces of filth. there has to be a severe deterrent.
