He says as much. He admits his strategy is to hold out until his opponents get tired in every battle because he won't die from small attacks.

Well, he is good but the mangaka seems so fond on throwing enemies upon enemies to him that are way beyond his capacity to deal in normal circumstances. He is like Sanosuke from Rurouni Kenshin--capable, but the rest of characters in the manga is like Shishio or Kenshin's level.

Well I guess it's purposefully set up as such so the manga can play with his immortality aspect as much as possible. Its unique though, I give it that.

I also really like the relationship he has with Rin. The romance between those two is so... well, it's weird to use this word for a manga where people gets decapitated daily but... adorable.

Vita Arcana is really good but there's only one volume so far.

I like the idea that he's both better and worse than he was before he was immortal. I mean, he killed a hundred soldiers without the worms, but now that he has them he just fights like a beast. It's like Guts after he got the Berserker armor.

Blood Lad 3 and 4

Staz has a cool friend/rival wolf, looks like it will be a blast when they meet up, and I guess hes taking his crew, or at least the girl, the pet, and yoshida. I like staz's powers though, staring and the dude just couldnt move etc.

I'm starting Letter Bee because I like the character designs. Not expecting much, though.
I pretty much like Letter Bee just for the art, I am a sucker for some of the stories though too.
Wasn't there a new doujin from C83? Or is that another ED?

It appears sometimes they are tagged as ED sometimes, but it should be Circle ED. Anyways thanks for the heads up =3

Ryuuroden is awesome. Too bad the scanlation is abysmally slow, while the actual manga is still ongoing and light years ahead.
I just re read vol 1 again because of gaf and man, do they ever do anything with that time travel in the intro? I remember reading up to vol 30+ years ago and they basically ignore all the thing from chapter 1, and seeing the main character Shiro and mayumi act like that is weird because later on they become such a legend/deity figure as dragon son and princess who is ultimate bad ass.

Knowing what happen in the future, I got the feeling that it's probably better to just make masumi and shiro as mysterious figure appearing in this world rather than the time travel subplot they use. It'd be something like alladdin from magi, although admittedly reading their development from highschool teenager trying to survive, find their place in the three kingdom setting, and later embraced their role as dragon son and princess is great.

Well...Shiro occasionally brings up the fact that he took history lessons while he was in school, so he knows about what happens, and adapts to it.

The mangaka hasn't touched that one intensively yet, especially Shiro's mother (considering she's the one that gave the mysterious pendant.)

It also plays some part in how Shiro is hailed as a strategist because he already knows the result of wars here and there due to him being a 3 Kingdom fanatic.

And the bolded, yes, my goodness, it's fantastic; especially Mayumi's transformation. It's incredible.

Isnt that only in the beginning, once they introduce chung ta, it basically start moving away from history.

Edit: btw, do we know jow many times/years have past since the start of manga until the mongol start entering the scene, kinda curious how long they've been stuck in the past.
This is one manga that I think the time travel plot is really just an excuse, ilt really become a non issue later on imo, a great action manga with great character development though. The battle are really intense.

7 Seeds 14-15

Okay, Hana and Arashi's teams missed each other. For some reason this is huge for me. It wasn't too long after they left the base too, so shit must've went down.

It's also nice to see how they're all moving on and letting go of their past. By the time Hana meets Arashi, she'll already be with Haru, so that's fun.

But little logical flaws start to bug me. How did they get the little unconscious girl through the other side of the flooded tunnel? This is not like the MGS2 escort mission, where she's fully awake and can take a deep breath every now and then.

Eh, someone could be resupplying her oxygen orally once in awhile. Plus it might not be that long of a tunnel?

Don't worry about that. Alot more weird shit happens later on.

Takemitsu Zamurai Vol. 1

Been meaning to check this out for some time after seeing some choice images in different manga recommendation threads. The artwork is pretty unconventional (at least it's different than what I'm usually accustomed to) but makes for some pretty striking imagery in some pages. The atmosphere and storytelling kinda give me a Mononoke vibe. Liking this quite a bit so far so I'll be getting to the other volumes pretty soon.

The implication isn't that she's "unconscious", but in whatever state they were in while they were stored. So she's in a state closer to being frozen?

I really like Blood Lad. The later chapters have taken an unexpected turn in the story and it's a shame that the translation has fallen so far behind.

Whaaaatttt? >______>

This disappoints me greatly.

Kamisama no Iutoori 21

I saw it coming, but still, that bait and switch with the whole "endgame speeches/montage" was great. So I guess either the main character is dead or... survives the fall? Really hard to be optimistic about anything with this series what with all the despair and stuff.

And holy shit, this is weekly now!? Damn, what an upgrade. Can they even show this kind of stuff in a weekly magazine? I guess it shouldn't be a problem since it's Magazine and not Jump, but I'm still a little worried. This makes Cage of Eden look like friggin Care Bears, and that's the goriest thing I know of in WSS.

Just my speculation. I'd love it, though.

I know she's in this frozen state, but I thought with a beating pulse she's have to breathe somehow. And wouldn't her lungs fill with water anyway?

But whatever, I try not to concentrate too much on little things like that.

No, you should. 7 Seeds usually rewards it. The girl is... a strange case.

Great, now you're letting me over analyze the stuff. :lol

But yes, it's good to know that paying attention usually pays off in this manga. Gotta love a good story.

Things aren't as they appear.

There are still quite a few teams to be introduced I think?

I still have to meet Team Winter, which is when shit really gets real, or so I've heard.

Angry Grimace

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
Is that guy supposed to be derping in that last panel?

Hahaha.

He is the typical "brawns over brains" character which is why the mangaka sometimes exaggerated his stupefied look.

Hmmm, maybe it would be best if I just post the scenes where there is this huge naval battle between two powerful kingdoms. All the tactics and dramas during that arc honestly amazed me.

Don't post too much, only few selected panels not entire pages. You're taking all the fun away, if you post complete pages. Same thing happened when I read Onani Master Kurosawa. All the funny panels were already posted, so it didn't really have that much of an impact anymore.

Yeah, I wouldn't do it.

Maybe just a page and that's just a maybe.

Anyways, I admit the art in Ryuuroden is a hit and miss. If you miss, you miss it, but if it hits, it hits hard. It is generally excellent though.

The first chapter of Ryuurodan was pretty ugly, rather generic roundy 90's design. I guess that had its charm though and if its long I imagine the art will only improve.

I swear I'll try to read more after I get home!

I only said that, because you posted like 4 pages on this page alone, so I was a bit worried about it.

Ah.

I thought it would a case of the author trying to explain concepts with things that doesn't appear in that universe, which I always thought was dumb.

Hehehe don't worry, I won't imagespam the thread. In fact this is the first time I ever did something like that in my history of participating in MangaGAF thread (well, maybe except that one time when I respond to something posted by Big One)

Why would someone from ancient china know about airplane propellers?

He's a kid from the future, transported back to the past in order to fill a "heavenly destiny."
