Marika is the best one out of all the girls.
Kosaki is like a female version of Raku. I don't know how anyone could stand her. The Raku-Kosaki route is like a big middle finger to the people reading Nisekoi.
Marika and Shuu are the only characters in the series who have actually tried, so everyone else is worse.
I haven't even read the latest chapter, and I'm not planning to, but people are wrong on the Internet.

what I meant was that there are a ton of people who hate Onodera.... it is just that the ones that like her are mostly those that got into the anime before the manga... or those bland people

No, I actually like Hyouka, I just think Shirobako is boring because its meant to appeal to hardcore anime fans that want to see behind the curtain even though its not actually interesting.

I assume real-life anime and manga production is just as boring as Shirobako without a ton of random moe girls everywhere.
It's about anime production and I'm enjoying it a lot, the first episode should give you an idea on if you'll like it.
I don't wanna go too OT but I'll just say that's not true. Being about anime is giving it a familiar color and curiosity, but it could just as easily be about any other workplace.
It's a bit rude to everyone who enjoy it for their various reasons, too

Its rude to have a subjective opinion on something on a discussion forum now? And yet Big One said Naruto was total shit for idiots for like 5 years and then when I told him why he was wrong, everyone got on my case for arguing with him. But now I'm rude for saying a thing YOU like is boring.
Basically this. I thought for a while it would be Chitoge, but with her being Friendzoned last week, Onodera is inevitable.

Given that calling something "pandering" has been an acceptable criticism of works since I started posting, saying now that its rude to people who like it to say its pandering just smells like "it was okay to say that until you directed it at me."

I don't think Shirobako is pandering at all, if you have an interest in production you will probably enjoy it more but even as just a show to watch it's still very good.

I just think its a typical cute-girls-doing-cute-things show. Given I like a lot more things than most people seem to on GAF, I get the impression that people are more interested in it because they like the subject matter vs. say, being in the light music club.
At least it wasn't a brainfart.

It certainly looks like that at first glance with the promo art and in the first episode and people were even joking before it started that a cute girls show about cute girls animating cute girls means we had come full circle, but there's such a massive cast of characters that it just isn't true. There've been discussions on the character designs and how the women look vs the men, but to me thats just what PA Works shows look like.
But I think you're right, a lot of people do like it because of the subject material, but to my knowledge there has never been a show about anime production itself, only multiple about manga and hardly any of them try to show it in a semi-serious light.
But we are way off topic, at least it isn't Nisekoi

I watched six episodes of it before I realize I didn't care about what was happening at all. If you like it that's fine, I'm just saying that's the impression I got of it.
I think I'm at least 6 chapters behind. Going to keep waiting until summer or so.
