Shirobako is great, and i can relate to most character, so there's that. Wonder if someone will pick up the manga version? (Just to make it a bit more topic).

Hey mates.

I am diving into the manga world. Having only read Dragon Ball and Death Note, I'd say I'm quite clueless on everything.

I've watched a lot of anime though, and basically finishing Berserk has pushed me over the edge to start getting into manga. Berserk will be the starting point.
Welcome :D
Thanks for the welcomes!

I know right, "finishing" lol.

Footballgaf made some recommendations already which I'll look into afterwards, what was recommended:

Monster
Master Keaton
20th CB
Pluto
Homunculus
MPD Psycho
Ranma 1/2
Slam Dunk
Rough
Short Program
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
Blade of the Immortal
Fist of the North Star
Kare Kano
One Punch Man

And someone suggested I'd like anything by Naoki Urasawa or Mitsuru Adachi.

So I think I'm set for a few years Hahah

That's a good list. I'll throw in Ping-Pong by Matsumoto Taiyo and Kokou no hito

I will be crying in the corner while flipping off wonzo.

Shiori Experience 1 [complete]

I haven't read something that's made me smile as much as this in a while. I can't help but think that this series is going to be something special. Everything about that pay-off was so brilliantly realized, and the gorgeous art and layouts just put it over the top. It's pure catharsis, to put it simply. Shiori's just a really likable, sincere character, helped along no less that her struggle with her dreams and what she wanted to do (versus what she did) is something I find a bit resonant, personally speaking.

And that end of chapter hook is... well, pretty damn strong. Needless to say, I am fully on-board.

This is pretty much the ultimate troll to the fans regarding who Negi ended up with. "lol, Tota's a clone, so no grandma!"

Akamatsu, you crazy.

I'm crying here. Those character designs....
Is there still any hope that once we get past the designs there's still something decent there?

It's being directed by the director of Valkyria Chronicles (Anime) and is being animated by TMS Entertainment who are a really iffy studio quality wise. So no we are fucked, unless the editor gave the okay to the CD without the mangaka's approval.

Anyone know the name of this one manga/manhwa?

The story is basically 'trapped in MMORPG situation', but the story starts off with the protagonist already defeating the threat that caused them to be trapped there, and when he was expecting to return to the normal world, somehow he got teleported into the far-future of said MMO?

First chapter or so involved some high-level power fantasy moment that involves "hey, this coins I had from the old game is worth shit-load of money" and "my magic saves this elf girl!"... kind of.

Shiori Experience 1
Amazing. so much cool scene and while the premise is ridiculous, this is great. When Shiori start rocking it on her own volition there's so much awesomeness.
Note: let's hope this one is not cut short like Yuko Osada previous work. Toto, Toto (reboot) Tribal 12, all of them end prematurely.

It's not like being infertile means he never got with anyone (or he didn't end up creating a designer baby/adopted a child hence being Tota's grandfather). He still promised Asuna he'll find someone
before she was sealed for 130 years

The New Gate

Thanks, dakkumauji.

I finally get what was bothering me about it. I remember picking up Tsuyokute New Saga, and somehow I'm reminded of New Gate even though what I remember of New Gate isn't anything alike New Saga aside from elf waifu.

It's the naming of how they both have New on them. >.>

An imouto appears and of course Takao's the best.

The whole water race was pretty amazing and exicited cause the next volume is unventured territory especially since s2 never ;_;

Pls don't say that. :(

Shigurui 50 - The Promised Cherry Tree.

I thought this story couldn't possibly get any more fucked up but just like that, with this simple reveal, the author did it. Effing Christ Gonzaemon.
Rest in RIP. I knew he was going to bite the bullet because of the title and because the story still didn't reach the point shown at the beginning.
I've watched the anime so long ago that I don't remember who other blind guy is and why he hates the Kogan school so much. Though I'm fairly sure the frog guy is a new arrival.
I suppose this leaves the final round of Irako vs Gennosuke left to resolved

Prison School 20-80

At some point I figured they were going to stay there for eternity but thankfully that was not the case. It dipped slightly in the middle only to recover gloriously at the end of the arc. Oh Hana you so cray. Deranged Gakuto was great. The final escape plan and its execution managed to really surprise me too.

Just concern that it might put him off since smut isn't everyone cup of tea and there isn't a prominent work represented in his list.

Oh, yes, that's understandable. Well, I'd say a short stay around here should be able to acclimate him to it easily enough~

Oh fuck no they ruined Rosario because of that shit.

Whilst I thought the manga got ruined by turning it into a shonen story. Of course I came to it via the anime (which I really enjoyed - though it as almost my first anime).

As for this...I didn't much like the art style of the manga, so maybe this will be more for me. I suppose it won't just be the same story but with an art style more to my liking.

I don't think Shirobako is pandering at all, if you have an interest in production you will probably enjoy it more but even as just a show to watch it's still very good.

Oh its pandering, just to the kind of people keen on seeing behind the curtain. Just like all the shows/movies that are about movie/tv/news/talkshow production. For people not terribly interested in that its probably pretty boring.

How far did you get into it? The designs really improve/grow on you as you go.

Not everything needs to be the same identical shade of moebait.
