A writer telling that comics have to include politics now is good?
So cutting out Dr. Strange from Wandavision because he's a white guy was a good reason?
Marvel shows aiming to change culture rather than providing escapism is a good thing?
Kevin Feige strongly hinting that the activism becomes before the story in The Eternals is not worrisome?

Yes, really. What of his takes don't you like?

I just don't like following people who's topic is to complain about the political culture war. I'd rather people who actually discuss the topics and / or themes of the content after they've watched it.

*EDIT*
I watched 5 minutes of the video you posted. I can't take him serious.

Comics have always had political under themes. Just go read some of the late 60's and early 70's Captain America and Avengers books for a start.

WandaVision was Wanda's story, I've sho4w was better thematically that Doctor Strange didn't turn up.

Changing escapism to include more minorities is a good culture change.

Can you link to an article that talks about Eternals activism?

They tended to be a lot more subtle and less preachy about it than the ones of the last ~10 years that hit you over the head with it with a sledgehammer.

Come now, Feige said it himself :"Here's the white guy, let me show you how power works." as a reason to cut him out because it would be bad optics for a man to be mentoring a women in the current year.

You also seem to be implying that Wanda isn't a strong enough developed character after all these movies and series to share a screen the with Dr. Strange in an series episode.

Are you implying they were actively keeping minorities out of stories before Feige showed up?

He was more concerned with changing race and gender before even having found a director.

I finished all the 60s based Marvel comics just recently and am 65% through 1970. The politics are pretty in your face. Especially the Avengers issues centred around Black Panther and issues about the Serpent Society.

I know Feige said that about Doctor Strange. The fact remains, Wanda shouldn't need Stephen Strange to overcome her trauma, she is strong enough to deal with it on her own. She'll be with Stephen Strange in the upcoming film so of course she is suitable to share screen time with him.

They were actively keeping minorities out even when Feige was in charge. Iron Man 3 was meant to have a female primary villain but IKEA Perlmutter said no to the idea because it wouldn't sell toys. Who knows what else IKEA Perlmutter said no to.

I can't take Boundingintocomics seriously, the first thing he does is dump on Nomadland just because it has a small box office. It is a great piece of film art.

Guess I should've been more specific about the politics, it's the intersectionality that's being pushed so hard these days. Obviously shows like X-Men were clearly about racism/discrimination.

Doesn't change that Feige reduces Dr. Strange to his race and gender as an excuse to cut him out which I don't think is ever a good reason.

Did Perlmutter do that because he was bigoted or did he have data that indicated a loss of money which is what he's all about? I was talking about racist reasons to keep minorities out of comic books and movies.

You don't have to take them seriously, you can still read the quotes from Feige indicating how important the race and gender swapping was to him for The Eternals.

Amazing how people are up in arms about him changing the race or sex of characters no one ever heard about until two years ago.
They can make these changes in adaptations as long it doesn't affect the quality of the story/writing too much but that's rarely case IMO. This new version might be much better than the source material for all we know but Feige's focus on race and gender does seem to indicate that his priority is not the story.

This take will age like milk when the movie becomes the first superhero movie to nab both Best Picture and Best Director.

If the Oscar viewership numbers over time are anything to go by this won't age that well too. :lollipop_grinning:

But to your point, if one doesn't care about the source material then it's obviously a non issue that new adaptations aren't that faithful.
