Marvel to cancel Fantastic Four comics as a "F*** You" to Fox

I'm curious to see what Marvel does with the characters since the family already seems to be falling apart in the comics.

Why does everyone like Dr Doom so much? He just kind of seems like an angry dude with a mask, sort of like an evil, shitty Batman.

Doom is an awesome character and he needs an event based around him.

As long as the movie doesn't suck like the first two, I wouldn't care who holds the movie rights.

Fox is rushing this movie out at an insane speed and they've already announced that it will be nothing like the comics at all so I wouldn't get my hopes us.

The only things I want Marvel to get back from FF is anything related to Cosmic Marvel that Fox owns. Galactus, Surfer, Annihilus (IIRC), et al. We need more Cosmic movies.

If the F4 just suddenly appeared in the X-universe I'd best they'd get pissed from constantly telling people they aren't mutants.

That REALLY makes it sound like either a spiteful or senselessly greedy move on their part, "crap we're going to be losing the license just make something F4-esque so we can hold on to that license for another 7 years!"

Wouldn't be the first time that has happened with the FF

The 'theatrical Spiderman' hasn't been heavily promoted given that Disney now control all the merchandising associated with the Sony films.

Look at the merchandise (and what not) for ASM2 compared to something like GOTG .

The idea is whether you see Spidey toys at all in stores. You do. You won't see F4 and X-men ones anymore.

I wonder how many of the cosmic characters they could use for Guardians movies are tied up with the Fantastic Four license besides the obvious Surfer/Galactus.

I bet they'll want to do the Annihilation storyline at some point and need a lot of those characters.

I recently watched that. It was somewhat better than I expected. Some hints of so bad it's good in scenes with the villains. Don't get me wrong, it's awful but it's somewhat more polished than a kid's overdue rushed homework.

You guys making the sales argument:

70 Captain America 23 $3.99 Marvel 30,927
71 Fantastic Four 8 $3.99 Marvel 30,674

I don't see Marvel making any moves to cancel Captain America.

Two entire races, the Badoon and the Shi'ar are over at Fox (I think). That blows. They likely have all the Negative Zone characters as well. Just going to waste.

I truly hate all this rights garbage. I know that if it didn't happen we wouldn't have the MCU as it is now, but the fact that the film rights for X-Men, FF, etc. are indefinitely out of Marvel's hands is so ridiculous.

is hellstrom good or bad? i cant tell anymore and he switches sides more than pietro does

It's Marvel, they'll probably just write it off as being a different universe anyway.

if its a different universe, youll know ahead of time. this isnt such a case. besides, captain america is just a title, not a powerset. steve could go around with the name dirt mcgirt, and it wouldnt change much outside of mockery and marvel finally getting back and the wu

Future Foundation was 4 years ago. A lot has changed since then. It's hard to believe but four years ago the only Marvel movies that existed were Iron Man (2 came out that year) and Hulk.

Well the current run sucks donkey balls, FF has been middling to horribad since Hickman left to destroy the multiverse in Avengers/New Avengers. If the current run was any good they'd be hyping it up, but it isn't so they aren't.

But Marvel hypes up shitty storylines all the time. Perhaps we could have been spared if they didn't hype up Civil War tho.

I have some bad (good?) News for you. Or was this supposed to be sarcasm.

Go ahead. I have a feeling I know what you are about to say and it's completely missing the point but go ahead.

Yea but the current run is so garbage it isn't worth it. Especially with what guys like Hickman are doing.

I just read Brubaker's Captain America run, they should've just kept Bucky/Winter Soldier as Captain America, he was great in the role and Steve was fine as the head of SHIELD, damn comics always making things go back to "normal."

Now to read the Winter Soldier run.

I'm ok with this. The latest series has been a lot of weird fuckery. And I mean weird. Put the shit on hold. Let them come back in 10 years from their weird space/time journey, and give us Fantastic Four #1. Under Marvel.

I dont worry about it. Marvel has Disney money and lawyers, and could get them back if they wanted to write a big enough check.
